If I have Webroot do I need McAfee? I let McAfee expire but they say my firewall is off. Am I still safe with just Webroot?

Hi RobbyeP

Welcome to the Community Forums.

If McAfee is saying that your firewall is OFF then you MUST ASAP enable the built in Windows Firewall (please see here for instructions on how to do that if you need them).

Whilst WSA does have a firewall it only covers outbound connections, Webroot having decided quite rightly that the built in WIndows Firewall is more than suffcient to cover the in bound connections (it is in fact a very strong firewall in its own right).

EDIT: Please see here for more information on this topic in the form of a KB article.

Hope that helps?  Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Regards, Baldrick

If I may add, if McAfee has expired you should uninstall it as soon as possible. Having it installed but not functioning is bad. Very bad. You would be better off uninstalling it and letting Webroot do it's thing.
