About a year and a half ago I had a problem installing a new printer and ended up calling the support number that came with the printer. The guy who was helping me on the phone was having a little trouble with the hardware that is in between the chair and the monitor and ended up taking control of my computer. It turns out he said that I had some kind of virus that was not letting the printer install whether that was true or not I don’t know but he ended up putting Web Root on my machine and the company he worked for took over technical support and security and in doing that uninstalled the virus protection I had with another company. So the printer is working I have paid for a years worth of technical support and Web Root is protecting my computer. I believe the support people have many clients just like me and Web Root is servicing them all but I don’t have an actual account with Web Root I am just one “node” in my tech supports account All good….now a year and a half later my ye
Hi I am Lynne I am not a computer wiz just use it for pleasure. I had Webroot installed but my computer started acting weird and kicking me out of stuff so I rebooted it and like before I had to reinstall Webroot. This time webroot downloaded and shows up on my desktop but it isn't in my add ons nor is it on the control panel and it was before and was enabled. I am wondering if this can be remidied.
Hello everyone, I am here to introduce myself. I am new here because my computer and email were recenly hacked. In addition, when I called my internet and email service provider about the incident, they were vague about having some issues as well. I did have a McAffee installed that was provided to me by my internet service provider but somehow it did not protect my laptop or email. I had realized my computer was hacked when I started getting many, many phone calls from scammers...they even called my family saying I had criminal charges pending against me if I didn't pay for a payday loan I never took. They even had my last 4 of my SS. In any event, it's been a very long week and a half of hard work of changing all of my passwords, cleaning my email accounts, etc. I took my pc to Geek Squd because I am not tech savvy. They reset my laptop to factory setting and installed Webroot. Since, I've done a lot of research about protecting myself in this e
The leader board screwed up today at 5:06 PM PDTI was just a few points from 4th place, went and posted something to a few discussions. When I came back to the leader board, I had only 10 points. I should have just taken 4th place. It screwed up again. You can see how many posts I have today alone, was in 5th place this morning. Now only 10 points? DOH! Something has gone wrong again And now the system is telling me that this discussion topic is too short. Really?
When I googled webroot I got Guru Aid. They said my phone had to be cleaned out for a price. As a long time webroot customer I knew this wasn't right. I Realized I wasn't talking to Webroot. I hung up & got Webroot & they fixed my problem. The tech was fantastic & fixed my problem. It was a complex problem but the tech was very courteous & patient. That's why I have Webroot. Kudos to my tech & watch out for Guru Aid. James Schwartz
Webroot keeps shutting down then rapidly restarting itself dozens of times throughout the day.version: 184.108.40.206 Webroot Secure Anywhere CompleteI tried numerous times to uninstall and reinstall and still the same problem.Any idea how to solve this problem?
I used Window Washer for many years. A while ago I installed Secure Anywhere, then I installed Norton 360 Primier. My SecureAnywhere subscription has now expired and I'm considering renewing. What I want in a product is something which will do the same functions as the old Window Washer did - specifically overwrite unused portions of my hard drive. Does SecureAnywhere do this? If not, does Webroot have a product which does?
This month we get to meet Rocky, who is 's faithful companion: Here's what Richard wrote about him: Rocky is probably the most lovable, loving, and loyal dog I have ever met. He is too smart for his own good, has mastered the sad puppy eyes, and rarely causes too much trouble. A brown lab mix (either greyhound or coonhound), he rarely barks, will howl when he is talking back, and loves all animals big and small. When I first got him, I thought he would be an outdoor dog, relaxing in my backyard while I was at work. I was wrong. After 2 break ins and one attempts, I realized he wanted to wait inside for me. Yes, my dog ripped two screens out of the window (separate times) to get into the house. N
I am wondering if Password Manager (PM) is not so popular with he community. I went days with getting an Ajax error on attempt to access my passwords (depending on the browser you might get no error but no passwords either). As far as I can tell, WR Tech support is unaware of the issue, meaning no else has notified them. But if it was popular I would think there would be lots of ticket/messages to WR tech support. I find PM very useful and need it almost every day, sometimes all day long (as I go over many accounts -- bills, finance, transfers), and lately it has been useless. Again, I get an Ajax Error when attempting to get to my passwords (my account in the browser, i.e. where you see buttons to click on). I am looking to switch anti-virus and researching other PM's, what do you use?

Just as every computer and mobile device needs Webroot protection, every home needs a good guard dog. We're starting a new fun series of posts showcasing all of the fierce but lovable dogs of Webroot employees. This month you'll get to meet Elvin Bonham King Barton, loyal companion of Elvin is a 75% chihuahua/25% dachshund mix who vigilantly protects the home of Webroot eCommerce Manager Wes Barton. When taking a break from guard duty, Elvin enjoys walks to the local ice cream shop, digging, chasing, getting treats, and listening to Led Zeppelin. Two years old this July, Elvin’s summer plans include finishing his tunneling project under the fence and taking more daytime naps. HI, i've had my Toshiba for over two years and have Webroot installed. Never a problem until my stepdaugther used my computer one night (and never again since then)--she installed some software on it, and it completely messed up my computer. I managed to save it by using Webroot and it seems to be working okay now. I am getting a lot more popups though which are very annoying. I did see that Webroot is not good for picking up viruses from email, more for web site issues. Is there another antivirus that is good for email (i think she opened an email on here and that may have contained something that is causing these popups). I saw Norton at Sams Club yesterday and think that may be a good one for email viruses. Thanks so much for any help!
Hello, I'm new to the forum and I'm having an issue. Webroot wont allow Snagit to capture any images unless I deactivate certain firewalls. Is there a way to take care of this without comprimising security?
I'm what you would call 'RED' (retired and extremely dangerous, not unlike the movie of the same name). My current hobbies among many involve a passion for cyber security, critical thinking, and the 'unrelenting' thirst for truth. As a retired federal employee of 33 years now residing in Virginia, I'm interested in thwarting 'robo' callers, telephone and on-line 'scammers' and any other generic 'dirt bag' of the same ilk. I signed on with Webroot when I got my wife a new laptop, last Christmas. Being very impressed with the ease of download, activation and the speed of the scans on her machine, I decided to pull the plug on McAfee Live Safe that I had on my own desktop with a little over 2.5 months left in my subscription after McAfee Live Safe's third failure to properly download my AVP updates! Since late last December, when I downloaded Webroot o

Nestled in a tall glass building in Dublin’s docklands is Webroot’s International Headquarters. Better known to its staff as the “Dublin Office”, the staff here take care of all things Webroot outside the United States. From here the staff with liaise with Linz, discuss with Derby and banter with Bracknell.
