Webroot is an excellent product and this community has been a great source of information. Like many other Webroot users, I have had my share of issues. This time we'll be getting to know , our resident cat fanatic and technology enthusiast. Tell us a bit about yourself. I have always been a tech savant and always seem to instantly figure out anything technical. I've also had a lot go on in my life to the point that some people think I'm in my 40s with all I've been through. It would be a novel if I wrote about it for sure :) Anyone here is more then welcome to ask for assistance with anything networking related. As you know, I also run an IT research/consulting company called AGNXNetworks/Remixedc
I just recently installed WSA and I have noticed that when I open up a new window/page to visit 2 different sites at once or to check emails while on another site, it seems to take some time for the page to load fully so that I can make use of the features on the page, like typing, moving the right bar up and down to scroll the entire length of the page, etc. Is this because my WSA product is scanning the content on the page to make sure there is nothing hidden or dangerous on that page that might try to infiltrate into my computer? Being a total dweeb in the tech sector I have no clue, but I thought this might explain it since it has only been doing this since I installed my WSA product. :$ Anyway, thanks so much for taking a look! :D But, just to add, I do love  the ease with which my WSA product handles its affairs on my computer. The scan happens in a blink and it has taken care of 3 issues that it found since installation, cooties that came
I'm not sure where to ask a question. I put this someplace else and it was deleted with no answer, so I'll try here. This morning on the Today show they gave a report about a hacker scam. Evvidently, a user will get a spoof email from UPS or Fedex. When it is opened you get a red screen and it locks up your computer. You have to pay $500 to get it unlocked. If you wait too long you have to pay $1000. Does Webroot have a protection for this?
Hello, I'm a newbie...........Kasie92 I have used Webroot for several years and when I saw the price for a renewal I called the company and stated that as I only ever us 1 PC I wanted a reduced price. (a closed mouth is never fed) They ended up giving me a discount. I did ask if the content would be the same. they said yes it would be the same.I have tried to use the optimize scan. It doesn't work. At first I thought is it me???? I found how to change the settings on what I wanted to be optimized but when I go to the scan area it's blank even though the name optimize is there. I know from reading these posts there are some talented people in here to help me. I await your phenomenal input. Kasie-92
Hello everyone, I use Webroot. However, it prevents me from typing Vietnamese fonts, which means that I can't type my Vietnamese with marks. I thought my Vietnamese input software had problems until I disabled Webroot and I can type my Vietnamese again. Can anyone have any idea about this with solution. Thank you!
Good Morning! I continue to get these popup ads by quiknowledge as I work. I don't know how it got into my programs but I was able to remove it through my control panel and "uninstall a program". With that said, I continue to get the "popup" in my Google Chrome. Is there a way that I can get this stopped? Thanks! Phil
Hi! I am a brand new Webroot member who just left her Norton antivirus behind. Being probably the LEAST tech savvy person on the planet didn't help me much, but when they couldn't help get the product to work right I was done. I had gotten some advice from people I trust that Webroot was the way to go so I made th switch but I see alot of differences in the way Webroot scans and how much it scans vs. the way Norton would do a full system scan. I guess you could say that while I'm unsavvy in the tech world, I do have alot of questions because I just need to make sense of things in the way they run for my own peace of mind. Since the support crew isn't available over the weekends I thought I'd get my feet wet by posting here to see how others like Webroot and if they had used Norton before if they had also noticed the differences that I do. Anyway, hello again and thanks for perusing my note!
Hi all :D, We all received the community dispatch e-mail from Webroot a few days ago. In it there was a GREAT link where Daniel was interviewed.... I think that i won't be the only one to be VERY happy to better know the highest ranked member of our community! In this article we have become more acquainted with this so friendly "guru"always ready to help others in a very personal manner,... as if the latter ones were unique. We also discovered the experience of his life so far, his hobbies and last but not least his jovial face expressing intelligence and kindness. I am very proud to be his cyber friend as i regard him with high esteem and respect. I'm sure every member will agree with me and join me to wholeheartedly congratulate Daniel. Cheers, Herve .
Just wanted to say hello to the community: Hello! :) I'm Max, a system engineer from Germany, and I'm currently evaluating Webroot SecureAnywhere for our company. I discovered Webroot on Spiceworks( thanks again Nic for answering my questions) and got interested because of its innovative way. I've found many interesting posts here, so i thought it would be a good idea to register myself.
Hi folks.....I’ve been using McAfee Total Protection for ten years and for many reasons I want to make a change so I just downloaded a trial version of WSA Security Complete and have a few questions. 1. Does WSA have a ‘lockdown’ feature similar to McAfee’s? 80% of our PC use is off-line. No need for an internet connection. With McAfee I click ‘firewall’, the page has options and I click ‘lockdown’, I use ‘stealth mode’ for browsing. I’ve looked around in WSA and do not see any options to do this. 2. Our PC’s and laptops are older running XP with 1 GB of memory so I use the “Quick Clean” feature in McAfee all the time. Does WSA have anything similar? 3. Using McAfee a full scan takes over an hour for about 150K files. The first WSA scan upon installation took 13 minutes. I ran a second that took 3 minutes or so for about 27K files. Wow. Why is there such a difference in the number of files scanned? I’m looking forward to using WSA and

Been using Webroot for a few months now on my PC. However, installing it on my smartphone and tablet, I have problems. It will not let me without saying "error". Also, my PC is a Windows 7, using Google Chrome. Lately, my screen has been doing a split second flash, as if it looked like something was trying to interfere. I don't know, but I do not have any detections of malware, viruses, threats etc.. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Hello all, In one of the earlier versions of Spy Sweeper, we were able I initiate the System Optimizer (Window Washer) by right-clicking on the Notification Icon. Is it possible to add this to the notification context menu via the program settings? Thanks! Krieger-bot
