We keep getting a pop up that says does this version of web root does not work with windows 10. It is a continuous pop-up that is very annoying. When we open up Webroot secureanywhere it says it is up to date and is maintaining threat definitions in the cloud. The OS is an upgrade version of Windows 10
I bought the Webroot CD when I bought my new laptop (Toshiba, Windows 10), and after some delay to figure out how to get the McAfee security system off, installed the CD. I also installed the same CD (licensed for 3 PCs) on my older laptop (Toshiba, Windows 7). Both installed successfully and seem to be working. Then I went on the new laptop (this one) and set up the account. Apparently I was supposed to set up the account FIRST, because there is no way to link the PC to the account except by INSTALLING and entering the key code during the installation process. But Webroot has ALREADY been installed on both computers. Is there any way to link the successful installations to the account without completely uninstalling and reinstalling Webroot on both computers?
I inadvertently started to install a Mindspark.com program called FromDoctoPDF. When I noticed it was about to change my home page and search engine I stopped the install. Now I can't uninstall it from Control Panel. It's looking for a file on my computer names 65Bar.dll and it doesn't exist. Mindspark recommended installing another of their programs and using Control Panel to remove - now I have two of their programs on my compuer. The readable text in the non-removable files say in part - Do not remove and I am also not able to remove them by select and delete. Webroot tech support says they don't find anything wrong on my computer, but I really want to get rid of these files. Would appreciate any help... Sorry if this is too long... first time on a forum board. Al

So I was browsing with Firefox looking for an alternative to Youtube to watch a certain video. After a couple clicks somehow I ended up at a website claiming to be FBI, locking my browser. They were asking me to type in a greendot card with a value of $300 just to unlock it otherwise I'd be penalized. Webroot seemed unable to help. Was this for real or an elaborate scam?
Just joined as I am thinking to switch my security over to Webroot. Been with another company for many years and need to check out Webroot. Wonder if the trial is only for 14 days or if it can be extended. Also what do others do about getting a spam filter. What are people using? Thanks. KOR-
Hi all, Matt from Sydney / Australia. Variously - IT industry, teaching, help run a coworking space. Running my own business and run all my client's security via Webroot. I've used most of the major security vendor's products over the years at retail up to SME level and Webroot is far and away the best experience I've had from both an end-user and an admin perspective. It ticks so many boxes!
Hey folks, Basically I purchased the complete webroot package. My subscription is ending in the next couple months. I am in serious need of help/advice. What I did was, out of frustration, I blocked some processes that I didn’t quite understand (newbie move) and now I cannot get past the “start up” on my MacbookAir. The computer turns on, shows my username, I’m able to enter my PW and that’s where it basically gets held up. The loading bar “holds” about halfway through so I can’t actually log in. Im able to boot into recovery mode and safe mode. My thoughts on fixing what I did were to get into my terminal and uninstall we root in hopes of undoing what I did. Or, ”Deactiving computer” under commands in PC security when logged into my.webroot....of course with the same thought that by getting web root off, will allow whatever process I blocked to default back. anyone ???
I be James, I am new to this, if I say something wrong, say so, I will try to correct my tongue. Sometimes I get a litte fed up with computer issues, and sometimes I get a little short with not understand why even when I think a correction is made that it takes time for the system to work it out. My hobby in the past was in the field of Electronics. Working with TV's, Radio, VCR's, 8 tracks, reel to reel, anything anolog, nothing digital in todays world. I do have a 3rd class FCC but that's a thing of the past.
I am a user of WebRoot Complete. Anything else you need to know about me related to my request, please ask. I have very limited technical knowledge. What I thought was a ligitimate need to update an ADOBE app I ended up with "secure search.....) which Chrome says is not a secure search. In my finder window under all files is the following: Flash Player (1).dmg I have automatic download to update apps. Is it safe to delete this imposter? Thanks
I met Webroot at the Best Buy Geek squad when they cleaned my laptop of over 1000 viruses and malware. I was using one of the two more popular antivirus software. Well, no more. I'm having a problem with entering my code to be able to install Webroot on my new phone . The code gets a dash automatically entered so I'm not able to log on. Any suggestions? Thanks
I had my laptop in at Best Buy about 2 months ago because it was running slow. Evey time I run a scan (daily), it does not pick up anything. But the Geek Squad man said that he found 63 problems on it. He cleaned them out and now 2 months later still having problems on running speed. My actual question is why is Webroot not catching them before they get on my computer??? Is this software any good or not??? Thanks Jim
