I originally posted over four months ago under the heading ‘Email service attack ?’ with my Android Samsung Galaxy A50 showing problems Since then I have continued having problems with both my mobile and desktop.ALL scans come back as clear and green, (phone and desktop) but I am not entirely convinced.I use LastPass, and this has been targeted , I have changed the master password and latterly downloaded a recent critical windows update to my desktop (Operating 8.1) which has improved matters somewhat.I feel as though I am being set up for a hit and run attack and feel extremely vulnerable Just read an article about Trojan Teabot which rings a few alarm bells with parallels to the behaviour I am experiencing, I am now wondering if I have been infected by Teabot or similar.Any advice would be hugely welcome thanks in advance Roadhog1
For the past week, every time I log onto my computer, a message is displayed from Webroot asking if I want to allow it to make changes to my computer. It doesn’t appear that anything is being changed--just the annoying message is displaying. How can I get this to stop?
I have a new laptop and I have used webroot forever on my computers but I am having trouble uploading files and downloading files from/to google chrome.I also cannot open links from my outlook emails??Please help this is quickly becoming more than frustrating.
I have a subscription to Webroot Secure Anywhere and I have 94 days before it expires. I understant that LastPass Password Manager comes with this program at no extra cost, but every time I try to activate, it brings me a page where I have to purchase it. Does LastPass come free with my subscription or not, and if so, how do I activate it without repeatedly being taken to a billing page? Thank you!
Almost all internet references say that when a browser indicated it is “managed by your organization”, and you don’t have an “organization” then it’s likely a case of malware or PUA hijacking. Not only does Chrome (recently updated) say it’s being “managed” elsewhere, there is a blank page at “chrome://management/” . Is this browser “managed by your organization” notice caused by my installed Webroot app? Thanks,
Hello - I receive notifications by additional security I have if and when my email password is found on the web. I change it keeping it strong with numbers, special characters, letters - upper and lower case using the max amount possible. Have cable connected to Secure Wi-Fi (on) and use other devices on it. This security covers monitoring service that works 24/7 and checks different avenues that hackers and thieves use but it does not cover file sharing. What are examples of file sharing? Email extensions I have are Webroot with Web Threat Shield and Adobe Acrobat but greyed out . These are the only two. Can Adobe see and change information on sites? The reason I ask is because I have a lot of .pdf files on Adobe Acrobat. Am very careful about “Phishing” and know what to look. These are sent to spam, blocked, and reported. I use 2-way verification when available but do not use password managers. I change all my passwords very frequently using strong passwords. Am I missing somet
3 years ago, purchased through Best Buy new computers and paid for the Webroot, then renewed. After the first year, had to keep getting best buy to stop auto renewal and tried to go through Webroot, but every year its a problem and I just want someone at Webroot to tell me ( yes I sent email and they act like they have no idea what I am talking about) to tell me how to do this as a clean deal from ONLy webroot. I will end up cancelling my Webroot this year if it happens again, I am sick and tired of getting email from best buy claiming they are charging me and then trying to deal with getting it straightened out. PLEASE TELL ME ONCE AND FOR ALL WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO JUST BUY /RENEW WEBROOT THROUGH WEBROOT WITHOUT ANY THING TO DO WITH BEST BUY ( I CANCELLED MY BEST BUY STUFF LONG AGO) OTHERWISE I WILL CANCEL OUT OF THE WHOLE WEBROOT FIASCO!
When I go to the Webroot login site, I fill in my email, my password and then at the next page I’m asked for two specific characters from my security code. So I do that and the next page comes up telling me that I am now logged OUT. Anybody have an answer? I’ve exhausted a bunch of possibilities and can’t get to the bottom of this. I’ve seen this complaint before - is there a problem with Webroot? Scary for a security outfit if there’s a glitch!
Lenovo 2019 Premium Flagship ThinkPad E590 Purchased: 1/8/20 Delivered: 1/11/20 Set-up: 1/12/20 I tried to install Webroot Internet Security Complete on my new computer. Instead of using the website listed on my email receipt from Webroot, I did a search for Webroot on the internet. I ended up on a bogus site. I asked for help installing Webroot on the computer. The person who I spoke to said that he would have to do a complete scan of my computer. I gave him permission. At the end of the scan he showed me that I had approximately 10 areas where my modem/router was hacked. He said that he was a member of the Geek Squad and that Best Buy owns Webroot. He also said that he could arrange for a technician to come to my house to install a machine to remove the hacks. The machine would be in my house for 4 or 5 days. At the end of that time the technician would return to remove the machine. I would only be charged $50. For security he said that he would need to hold the cost of the
Hello everyoneI entered my email and my name on this page https://www.webroot.com/us/en/home/products/trials/av to get Webroot SecureAnywhere trial code. I got a keycode after i clicked “Start Free Trial”. But when i run wsainstall.exe to install Webroot on WIndows 10 with my keycode i get following message: "The keycode you entered is for a Webroot SecureAnywhere trial and can't be used to reactivate the full product. Please enter a purchased keycode or purchase one now to continue your Webroot SecureAnywhere protection".Could you please help me with this?
I renewed my webroot last night and have not recieved my confirmation email with what im guessing should be a new keycode?? i purchased my laptop and got the webroot with it that had the free trial and it expired yesterday so i clicked the box within the webroot file that said "Renew Now" and i entered all my payment info and recieved payment confirmation, but no email as of today. is the keycode that came with the webroot not the correct one? im not sure what is going on, but i really like this product and am in need of some answers as to why wouldnt the keycode that i entered originally that was on the box not work now?? And most of all when can i expect to get an email sent to my husbands email with the new keycode if that is the case? Thank you. Heather
