I'm new to this community. I am a newbie on computers even though I've used them for 30 years. I work at Target, but for 20+years I worked as a sales rep selling pre-recorded video to retailers in the United States. I've been batling with..my self about being safe on my own computer. Password Managers & changing passwords to stay safe. I have been using LastPass for probably 6 years. Lately I have lost my "master password" . I was looking at each application & found this on my master password: https://lastpass.com/otp.php?forcelogin=1 I want to help other people, I am a good listener, love music classical, rock, blues. I'm a retired nerd... Glad to be part of this group. I got my first computer in 1982, a Coleco Adam. Boy was I cool! I've had my nose deep inside a computer ever since. My dad, who was a mainframe computer operator for the US Airforce, retired about the same time I got interested. He told me that (1980) we hadn't even scratched the surface of what computers were going to mean in our everyday lives and now, 37 years later, I can still say the same thing! Amazing! Hi, I have been using webroot for a few years now, and I'm wondering right now if anyone else gets the fake anti-virus software boxes that say you have a virus. I get one for Windows Security Essentials wanting to scan my computer I don't have that so know it is a fake. . Webroot does not pick them up. I'll do a scan, deep, quick and full and nothing comes up. I know this is an introduction forum...I'm old don't know much about pc's, but I have tried to keep on top of the virus, malware spyware thing by having the webroot. For the most part I don't worry, and only once a virus got through with Webroot...and that was probably my fault. These fake virus software things are a pain in the rear and I would expect Webroot to catch them but they aren't. Any suggestions? Thanks so much, Lola
Hello all, In one of the earlier versions of Spy Sweeper, we were able I initiate the System Optimizer (Window Washer) by right-clicking on the Notification Icon. Is it possible to add this to the notification context menu via the program settings? Thanks! Krieger-bot
Hello: My name is Tony and I am posting for the first time. I have just purchased Webroot SecurityAnywhere and my initial impression is it is a incredible piece of software!!!!! I have been working with computer since 1999 (when I purchased my first PC) and since than have worked with numerous antivirus software over the years. I must say that Webroot is second to none!!! To date I am a satisfied customer and very happy with the product. As for myself I am a musician play the sax and clarinet. When not playing music, I am constantly on the computer, enjoying posting and learning more each day about computer security and what new software's that are coming out Once again my hat off to all the staff at Webroot for outstanding software, great job well done.:D
Hello, Webroot community. First time former and first time post here. The company I work for sells Webroot SecureAnywhere subscrptions to many of our business clients, as well as some residential clients. We've had numerous situations arise since December 2018 where at least five Windows 10 computers were freezing up/locking (specifically Windows Explorer) after logging into Windows rendering the computers useless and then another few at various clients did the same thing and all of them happened to have Webroot installed. Also, some of them indicated that the service may have been expired as well. What will happen is when you login to the account, it takes a long time to login and when finally login, the mouse cursor becomes an hourglass circle and you can't open any applications, nothing. Eventually, a popup windows shows Microsoft Windows is not responding. Windows Explorer basically freezes up. Also, I wanted to disabled Webroot on one computer because some websites wer
Hi again everyone, Right off the bat I would like to say that I really do not have the time or energy to do what these guys and girls do here so my motivation in saying this is purely in appreciation of the friendly welcome and genuinely nice people here. I would liken this forum to the quality of Microsoft except that they are much faster in their replies, and again, much friendlier than most forums you may have heard of. There is nothing worse than a response to a question from someone that is condescending and talks to you as though you were a moron when you are already frustrated by a problem that you may need some advise on. You will not find that here. Not only are these guys nice but you will find them knowledgeable and fairly fast in response to your question or problem as I have. Just say hello and give 'em a chance... I promise you won't regret it! P.S. As an experiment I reloaded my page every 30 second
I found this fix in your forum, and tried it, but it’s not working. I’d like to uninstall Webroot and reinstall it, like the post says, but I can’t … I can’t find it in Control Panel » Programs & Features to uninstall it - it’s missing from there! I have found a issue with re-installing on a machine with our WRData directory present which causes this issue. I have made development aware and they are investigating. There are ways to fix it in the meantime though. Fist I have developed a program that will attempt to repair this. Please download and run the following:http://download.webroot.com/WRShellFix.exe If after running this it says its replaced it, try and see if the context menu options show (a reboot should NOT be required). If it says it has disabled the context menu run the program again to try to replace it. If this still fails then it is definitely the WRData directory getting in the way. You will need to do the following: 1. Uninstall Webroot 2. Reboot the machine 3.
It's the ol WSA carnival barker back again after using Webroot for awhile now and I gotta say, this is a well thought out product!! I am an avid (old..as in years!) gamer and I have never seen an AV with this small a footprint. I mod a lot of games and other AV would cause crashes...NOT so with WSA! Protection?? You ask?? I have checked behind WSA just to see at first and nada...not even a trace of malware of any kind. While I know nothing is perfect and even the best can make mistakes, this is hands down the best of the best in so many ways.To the devs...I wish I had your talent...fantastic job!! I have found and you have found a customer and admirer for the whatever time I am here!! Getting a new pc, so I will contact about ANOTHER license :) Thanks again for a great product!
Win 8.1 Webroot 220.127.116.11 IE 11 in Sandboxie Webshield icons are grey on search pages. The icon message is, "Rating temporarily unavailable. We are working to restore service. No user action is necessary." Webshield icons are working in the following environments suggesting Win 8.1 + Sandboxie + IE11 has an issue. Webroot 18.104.22.168, Win 7, IE 11 in Sandboxie Webroot 22.214.171.124, Win 8.1, IE 11 Webroot Filtering is enabled in Manage Add-ons. Any suggestions? Support case opened but no response today so I'm hoping someone else has a solution. Since no others are reporting this issue it is probably something I'm doing wrong.
:p Hi. Im starting two new things...today 1. Will be helping high school junior son go thru Indiana Connections Academy (the online school Indiana offers to residents as an option to brick and mortar high school). 2. New to Webroot as my antivirus program. So...life will be interesting! Son is a great baseball player who needs grade repair. (Perhaps he has undiagnosed learning issue...which I will also have checked). He did do fine in a few summer online courses. And he has a super great analytical mind...I call him "Mr. Sports Database" for instance...and he is already analyzing the political debates...in detail!!! So...on we go...I have a computer purchased 2 days ago and new Webroot software...already asked my question elsewhere . (If you are a male or do not have a young daughter who has/had American Girl (tm) style dolls...your eyes will glaze over in boredom ...over the below info....) My other computer enhanced project coming up (w
