Please advise. After using Norton for the last 2 years on my laptop, I've recently upgraded ( i hope ) to webroot after seeind adware starting to appear while online. Since deleting all norton products and installing webroot and running scan, no threats were detected and the adware is still appearing. Seems to appear only when on sites which are retail oriented. What is my next move? Thanks for any feedback!

Heya everyone - I am no stranger to forums but am new to this one. I purchased this product on a reccomendation and could not be happier. I have my personal PC protected as well as my wife's and mother in law's lap tops. I will soon be upgrading and would like to protect my new investment with this program as well. I have a couple questions that have led me here but I am going to search a few old posts first to see if I can find the anwers myself! Cheers!
Hi, just signed up. I reside permanently in central Mexico, but am temporarily living in northern China. Bought the product because I have a bunch of malware on my computer and was hoping that Webroot would find them and delete them. Did a scan and much to my great disappointment it did not even find a single one. Was really hoping that it would get rid of Aartemis for me, but it did not even mention it. Am I doing something wrong? At the moment feel ripped off and want my money back.
Hey everyone I'm janelle. I just purchased a new iPad air for my son for Xmas and I'm setting it all up for him to just unwrap and play. I also purchased the bundle pack with the geek squad that came with this webroot secure/ anywhere disk that I ca use to protect up to 3 devices. I'm on the iPad now I followed all instructions and I'm really just lost on what exactly this is. Do I use this instead of safari? I tried to use that browser and it's said I couldn't get into Victoria secrets causes there was no server found. Not sure why cause I'm connected just fine. What is the point of this, what's wrong with safari that I'd need this? Safaris working...this is not
Wanted to say I am new to the community and I seen this AD on my Att Web Mail and clicked on it because it was a hell of a deal considering my Mcafee was about to end in 40 something days so now I have this for a whole year and saved me money on top of that and next year I don't have to worry about renewing because it will do it for me. Mcafee did this too with the Auto Renewal but also this program fixed a glitch with my Download Accelerator Plus Installation program because I noticed when after un-installing Mcafee and installing Webroot I was able to update my DAP program successfully. I hope I notice some other fixes along the way and less crashes with windows with this program. GOD BLESS and thank you for the discount WEBROOT ;) recommendations by mouth will surely be coming from my mouth :) as long as the test ride is as good as it's advertised :)
Let me introduce myself. My given name is Adrianus, quite a mouthfull. So my friends shortend it to Aad. Beeing not so high (5' 6") they also invented it to Aadje (Dutch for Little Aad) And beeing a sailor for quite a time the following nickname was born: Aadje Piraatje And that's Dutch for Aad the Pirate. As I told I was a sailor for about 45 years and have seen quite a lot of the world. After my retirement, now 10 years ago,I missed the sea dearly and what could I better do than buying a PC and follow all what was interesting for me and a lot of other old-sailors too as I discovered very soon. What I also found out was that there were not only "nice" people on the World Wide Net, but als "bad" guys who tried to steal information from my machine just to use it for their own benefit. Therefore I tried to protect my machine as good as possible I started, as so many with me, with a Norton product, gbut founding out that this program did slow down my PC very much I decieded a few Y
Hi! I'm glad to be here (thought you were only on Wilders), so it will take me a little while to get around. Checking out what has been changed / updated / added to WSA since the first BETA (seems to be quite a lot - nice interface now). I'm sure there will be a lot of questions later. (Forum seems familiar though, hmm ....)
Hi Everyone - I just joined the group. Recently bought a new computer and received a copy of Webroot with the purchase and loaded it. I am running Windows 8.1. Should I turn off Windows Firewall or run it in conjunction with Webroot? Is there additional settings in Webroot I should activate if the Windows firewall is turned off? Is there any advanced settings I should be aware of while running Webroot? Thanks in advance, Charlie
Hello everyone, I just joined the community today. I got my laptop yesterday and installed my WebRoot Anywhere on it too. I have WebRoot for 3 devices and so far it's on 2 of the devices that I want covered by it. My sister's laptop doesn't have a disk drive so I can't put the WebRoot dick in there until she barrows an external disk drive from a friend. I had trouble on the Desktop with getting my yahoo mail to open mail but I think it's due to there being too much unused programs on it. Anyway, I am glad that there is a WebRoot Community for people who want to get help with things that they might be able to fix themselves with abit of talking to GEEKSQUAD and WebRoot operations managers. Sincerely,
Hello everyone in Webroot land! I am a new forum user, although I have been using Webroot for a while, along with Norton and MBAM. A quick intro about myself: I have an engineer's brain (a computer engineer's, to be precise) and I love hardware engineering, programming, not so much :p. Just thought I outta introduce myself before I get to postin'! By the way, I'm from upstates but now live in the south; so you might see me talk like a mixture of upsate and southerner from time to time. My username comes from Star Trek Enterprise, since I am a huge Star Trek fan. Shran
Just dropping in to say hello. I can't quite figure out why this page says we're in the United States yet when I select United Kingdom I get taken all around the houses back to the US again. Not that it really matters, the forum could be located in Antartica and only time zones make the difference. What was an intereesting experience for me this past weekend was having just purchased a brand new PC, which came pre-loaded with windows 8 (new experience for me) and a popular AV programme. Once I got round to firing up IE and downloaded Google (my preferred browser) and whole stack of adware came along. All making itself very busy with in-your-face advertiments and other stuff. I then downloaded and signed into my Webroot account and installed it in the new PC. WR immediately detected all the adware, malware and whateverware and cleaned it out very quickly. The interesting thing about this tale was that the pre-loaded AV, which the s
I am new to your community, and very pleased that such a forum exists. I hope somebody out there can help! My problem is ChartNet, the program I use for work. Whenever there is an upgrade to ChartNet, which there was this morning, some of the programs within ChartNet simply stop working. I have been told by IT that Webroot does not recognize ChartNet upgrades and therefore disallows upgrades. Is there some way to enable/allow upgrades to ChartNet that Webroot will not see as a threat? I appreciate any help. As I do work from home and am paid by production, this is a frustrating situation. Thanks so much in advance!
Hi - Use to be able to block those while interent browsing under the older version of webroot. (Just type in the URL) Under the new version it directs to look for a file on your PC. But there is no file on the PC for these. Just comes up when you get to a website using the adds. Way to fix this in the new version? thanks, Bob
I took my Samsung in that needed a new hard drive. I had the geeks replace it, I thought they were going to give it back to me with all of the info from my old hard drive on the new one but ummm.. no.. that didn't happen.. so I'm sitting here on my laptop with the backup info that was done on my WD External Hard drive in June.. I already tried restoring it but it didn't seem to work.. I don't know what the freak to do.. All of my Office, etc. programs are on the WD & there's nothing on my laptop.. I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff.. :-( Can someone please steer me in the right direction.. pls... someone.. anyone.. ?:$ Thank you
I have recently learned, and started making use of Webroot. I started working for a major retail chain, in their customer technical support section, about four months ago. I learned about Webroot in one of my standard training segments and have used it since. I love Webroot, and advise clients to use it as their computer security system. As someone that deals with computer problems on a daily basis, with the majority of them being malware, I hope that I can assist if there are any questions relating to such problems. GSA
