PC Tech nr Liverpool, NW UK Advise small businesses / home users on software / hardware Daily grind is PC, Network, web stuff Just saying Hi! My last fun little hack? http://www.cpcnw.co.uk/sysinfo/Pinfo-v05-Arch.php
I recently logged onto my Wells Gargo bank account site. While on the site a pop-up appeared on my screen that said that Wells Fargo was asking me to complete a short survey on my banking experience and the bank was givng a free.gift. The questions were what the bank would have asked--how often I went to the banking center, would I recommend Wells Fargo bank, etc. Since that incident, the same pop-up and appeared on other sites that I logged onto. It looks very convincing that the company whose site you are on is asking for feedback. A free.gift is offered for completing the survey. It is a scam. How can it e detedted and stopped? I am sure my computer is now infected. Evelyn in Houston
Does anyone have any advise on best practices for using Webroot? Yesterday, I received a Dell System problem message - I'm assuming it was bogus. Later a ransomware message took over my pc. I hope I stopped the threat before it got to me but how do I know for sure? I installed Webroot and ran a scan. Everything looked good. Anything else I should do? Sue

Hi everyone, just registered for community about 20 minutes ago. I am not very knowledgable about computers. Just enough to be the tech guy at my house, and to get to solve our problems. I just ran a system optimizer scan of my laptop, and received a 100/100 score. The only issue: graphics ram is low and effecting performance. How do I do something about this. I only play arcade games and lately they have been hanging up and shutting down. It could be the games are not that good. I get the free games from Win Tangent, and Webroot gives them a suspicious rating. Some games from other sources perform well. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Joe Gunto
This month we'll get to see my very own puppies, Aaliyah and Chewie: The only way I could get them to sit still was to fill their food bowls and get their attention that way. Being a guard dog for Webroot is hungry work! Aaliyah is 9 years old and we got her from a breeder as a puppy. She's an Olde English Bulldogge, which is like an English Bulldog but bred to be a bit healthier. She's a total sweetheart and loves everyone and everything. We used to have pet guinea pigs and she would touch noses with them in their cage to say hello. The only thing that drives her crazy, for some unexplained reason, is the theme song from the TV show 30 Rock: We even tried the experiment of playing just the music or just th
hello as the subject states, im not really new to the community. i have been a WSA user for years and had a community account open before, but lost my password. everytime i tried to reset my password i would get the error You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action. its a bummer that i have not been able to log into my other account, because i was a part of the pc beta group.
My original User name is: Coyote-LaRue It started when I got my passwords stolen. I was running t201-7749he Beta Version There were numerous personal security issues, and now I have lost everything including living accommodations. This has all taken place, progressively getting worse since around July or August in a Hotel Room in Cameron, MO (The Relax Inn). It seems to be as though I've been working on the most Vigantic, and Longest Hack-A-Thon possible. They have gone as far as kept me from any availability of internet access, even caused me to lose my personal possessions, not to mention enslavement into another work field. I need my PW vault associate with email@example.com I have also lost this webmail domain. SOUNDS CRAZY !!! ALL TRUE !!! HELP
I am new to the community. Can someone tell me how to fix the problem. Scan told me one of my actie processes has a possible handle leak (SyncUP.exe). What can I do to determine if this is true and how do I fix it.
