need assistance with this support ticket regarding updating DNS protection for a client of ours.  however im not sure how to go about this in the webroot admin dashboard. they received an email stating this:

DNS resolvers for Webroot DNS Protection were moved to Google Cloud for hosting. This move has provided DNS protection with both amazing performance and 100% uptime. Now that 2 years have elapsed, we are in the process of decommissioning the old servers. It has come to our attention that you have networks that are still referencing these old resolvers. To avoid any service interruption, please update your networks to use the correct IPs before December 1st, 2021. This is the last notification we will send out warning you that these IPs are being turned off. Note, this change must either happen on your network’s DNS Servers and the DNS setting on your Firewall / Router. The new IPs for your region can be found in the Webroot Business Console under the DNS tab. Once you select the appropriate region, both a primary and secondary server will be provided.

Hi @Gridmstr75

Webroot is decommissioning the 45.54.55.54 and .55 DNS Resolvers and that message above is stating that you have some sites still using those resolvers and they need to be changed.

In the console under each client in their DNS Protection tab, there is a drop down to select the location nearest you. This will show you the new IP addresses to use for DNS Resolvers. You’ll essentially just need to change the numbers out.

This is for Networks ONLY. (Firewalls and Servers with DNS Forwarders setup for Webroot DNS) If clients are using the DNS Agent service in windows itself, then there’s no other configuration required.

Hope this helps

John
