Webroot Mobile Security App on my Motorola phone is no longer listed as an app loaded on my phone

Ever since April 1 when I renewed my subscription this app has not functioned properly. Initially it was burning through battery life. The last update seemed to fix that. However, the phone never seemed to scan. If I initiate a scan, it completes in seconds. As of today - the message bar indicates it has been 25 days. For the Last several week the WR Mobile Security App is indicated as the 3rd highest user of battery life (even though it is not running). Today I updated my Ring App. Usually after updating an app, Webroot would scan and a message would be posted that "No Problems detected". Did not get that. Went to the Google App store to see if the WR Secure Anywhere app had an update. There is no Webroot Security App only the Webroot Browser App and the VPN APP (both are on my phone). But the WR Mobile Security App is GONE - not listed as an app loaded on my phone!! There is no WR Mobile Security App to reload for Google Play Store. Also having issues with LONG scans on my Widows 7 laptop (Toshiba). That just started today. Normal scan time about 2-4 minuets until today. Took 8 min 51 sec. This seems very strange.

Hi @Jaxx

Yes Webroot knows about the Mobile App missing, see here for more info: https://community.webroot.com/webroot-mobile-security-for-android-15/can-t-find-the-app-339551

And see here about slow scans on older PC's with the latest version: https://community.webroot.com/tech-talk-7/slow-scans-339347

Thanks,

Thanks TripleHelix. I see that it has been posted (and being worked on). However what also is troubling is that this app is indicated as the 3rd highest app usage on my phone even though it shows that it is running 0 minutes since charged while in active use or background. The number 1 and 2 apps are actually ones with active screen time and background running times. That has been the case since the last update to the WR Mobile Security app was downloaded in April.

Additionally the app always has an "indicator dot" active. That has been the case as well since the app was reinstalled with the current version. It never goes away.

Usually after updating an app, Webroot would scan and a message would be posted that "No Problems detected". Is the app no longer scanning after apps are update (i.e was that another feature that was dropped?)

I also saw a lot of reviews on Google Play indicating the same issue and the only responses that were posted back from Webroot were the same canned response that it was fixed on the last release. I'm hoping this is also being looked at because this was NOT the case until the first release in April 2019 that caused the whole battery issue.

If I need to I can open a different thread or a ticket.

Thanks for letting us know Jaxx and like TripleHelix mentioned, Webroot is aware. Do you have the 5.5.5.38787 version? If you do and are still experiencing these problems above, please open a Support Ticket as our Support Team will be able to work with you to resolve this.

Thanks

Hi TripleHelix and freydrew. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I was running the only version of WRSA that was available at the time for mobile devices 5.5.5.38787. I rec'd a notice on my phone that a new version of WR Mobile is available as of yesterday (7/22/19). I had to recharge my phone this AM before downloading. I'm hoping this new release addresses the excessive battery usage on my phone as it used 19% out of 96% (#2 - highest app usage for 2 minuets of actual active run time). Fingers crossed 🙂.
