When I try to uninstall AVAST which has appeared uninvited on my computer it crashes my computer. It has been suggested that I turn off Webroot and try and uninstall it again.

Hi Linda!

The thread you would want to request product help for is below:

https://community.webroot.com/product-help-discussions-9

Also, what you are looking at might not actually be Avast since it appeared uninvited and you don’t know how it was installed. My guess would be a browser hijacker masquerading as Avast. A screenshot would be helpful. And the type of device you have.

PS. Do not disable Webroot.

Hello @Linda Watt

It’s best to Submit a Webroot Support Ticket and they will help you!

Note: When submitting a Support Ticket, Please wait for a response from Support. Putting in another Support Ticket on this problem before Support responses will put your first Support Ticket at the end of the queue.

Please let us know if they come up with anything!

Thanks,

Hi Linda,

So you didn’t install Avast? Could someone else have done it? I can’t tell if it’s real or not so please contact Webroot Support as I posted above so they can check and help you.

Thanks,
