Hi there, we use barcode scanners to enter QC inspections. With webroot installed, the barcode scanners return random characters / strings. We do not have this issue on devices without Webroot installed. We can not continue to use Webroot with this issue. Any workaround? Thanks!
Hi Folks, We are talking here about a rarely used but clean Windows XP docked ThinkPad with a platter HDD. Manual WSA deep-full scans used to take only 5.5 minutes for many years up thru and including PC Agent Version 220.127.116.11 ..... that would be yesterday July 1, 2019. Yesterday, immediately following an "auto-update" to PC Agent Version 18.104.22.168 and reboot, the same 40,000 file manual deep-full scans are now taking 26.5 minutes ... about 5 times longer and seem to pause mostly now on dll files. There were no changes to the ThinkPad before or after the update from yesterday. Today, after several more manual deep-full scans the time remains the same at 26+ minutes and the reports show the unit is clean. I've always disabled autoscans .... just manual scans each time this ThinkPad is used.... plus, also for many years, manual-only scans with both MalwareBytes Free v22.214.171.1242 (the last version supporting Windows XP) and SUPERAntiSpyware Free. Again, this is a rarely used Windows
I renewed Webroot from an Amazon purchase and when I go to my account from within Webroot, I go to a place called Carbonite-Webroot and they don’t have all my information on second computer. Have I been hacked, just a few minutes before that when I went to my account from within Webroot, it shows 7 days left on my two computers. Then I put in new keycode and end up going to Carbonite-Webroot and have to create a whole new logon. And it says my second computer has expired and it had 7 more days. Haven’t started it yet to enter new keycode. I don’t know what this Carbonite is? I see I can’t type suppose to be What happen to my account and it won’t let me change it.
Hello, I was getting the same virus over and over again so I decided to delete the application and download it again. I have been trying to download it for a very long time now and I just can't get to make it work. I click on the installation and this pops out and when I click on the Webroot SecureAnywhere icon it doesn't do anything. I already tried deleting cache and many other things and nothing seems to work. I would like receive help since I am running out of days of my memberships and it is not being used. Thank you in advance.
I need to whitelist/override two locations for the Mdaemon localcache but not sure about the override settings to just whitelist the localcache file. Is the correct File Mask: LocalCache.* Path Mask: %AllUsersProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Alt-N\Outlook Connector 2.0\Accounts\Outlook\email@example.com or: %AllUsersProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Alt-N\Outlook Connector 2.0\Accounts\Outlook\ - with subfolders selected, in this case it need to only override the localcache file since there is an attachment folder which we do not want to override. and: %AllUsersProfile%\Documents\Outlook Files or just: %AllUsersProfile%\ - would this catch the entire profile to include the two locations above? I appreciate any help with this.
I renewed my webroot subscription 5 days ago via bestbuy, which is where I first got the subscription. However, it still shows up as expired on my webroot status interface. How do I fix this problem? Also, on the order summary that I printed out after paying for the renewal. It states "Please Note: This charge will appear on your credit card statement as "GEEKSQUAD RENEW.....". I have not received the charge on my bank statement since. Should I wait a few days for the charge to appear or should I call the customer support number that is on the summary?
I am trying to remove Webroot from my pc, however there is no option in the programs list, it keeps telling me to contact my network administrator, this is a personal pc, i’ve tried to remove it in safemode with networking, at this point idk what to do outside of wiping the system
Hi guys, How I can force agents to update for last build rather than o that manually? I’ve searched and found that I can send it as a command with the link of endpoint agent software so it will download it and update it but since agent commands has remove the ability to send commands so it can’t be done, any suggestions please?
I’ve tried again and again to remove the Web Threat Shield after uninstalling Webroot. I cannot get the extenion to shut off or uninstall. I cannot even delete the files as they are locked by the system. This is my home computer, and I can’t remove this! How can you make software that is this invasive that I can’t remove it?!
I was on the American Chemical Society website and a tab opened up by itself. I must have done something when I went to the tab because as soon as I did, something was downloaded to my computer and it went too fast for me to be able to see what it was or where it ended up. I searched the entire hard drive manually for everything that had a “date modified” of today around the time it happened. Nothing was suspicious except for a file that I “did not have permission to access,” but the file was empty and created in 2019. It said it was modified around the time the incident occurred. I couldn’t delete the file either because it said something in the file was open. I checked the task manager and it said nothing was open. Webroot did a scan and found nothing. What do I need to do?
Hi, I am trying to automate the export of our list of endpoints. What is the best way to go about this. Using the API to export all of our endpoints and all of their information to a csv file? Or could i automate the export by using the button on the endpoint protection console. Kind regards, Yordi
I have developed a website where people can upload files to and I would like to scan these uploads for viruses. Webroot Endpoint Protection is running on the same machine the site is running on. Is there a way, perhaps using the Unity API and SDK, to use Webroot to scan these files?
Hello, I am wondering if it is safe to port foward with Webroot, because me and my friend are trying to do stuff and are using an external vpn that has worked in the past, LogMeln Hamachi, and for some reason now its not working, if i could have a staff member help me out by answering this question that will be great, i dont want to put my IP and WIFI at risk by port forwarding through websites and since this port forward is through an anti virus, I dont know if this is safer than through a website, so again it will be much appreciated if a staff member could answer this. Best regards, Mark
I tried to install Webroot for home last Thursday. It never ran an install program, never asked for my Keycode I was given after purchase. An expired program installed, but the Keycode is different from the one that was given to me, and it won’t let me uninstall it. I have had memory problems ever since, and it causes my pages to open a little slower than normal. I have tried to contact Tech support, but am being ignored or they want me to activate a service console, but any new password I try to put in, it will not accept. Can anyone help with this, and is there an easier way to get in touch with Tech support? The phone numbers they have listed don’t work. I’m getting quite desperate now!
I currently have a subscription to Webroot Secure Anywhere, and there are 5 PCs protected on this account. I got an email suggesting it’s time for me to renew my subscription, but the email makes it sound like only 1 PC will be protected. I’ve tried navigating through my email, and just renewing from my account page, but it takes me to the same screen that looks like it’s for new customers. It’s as if it doesn’t know who I am. You would think a returning customer would have an interface that was a little more “Hey, we know who you are, thanks for renewiing” rather than a generic looking signup page. But besides that, I’m still just confused about whether or not I’ll be keeping my product key, and my 5 PC protection that I have now. “Your subscription begins with your purchase”. But I still have 59 days on my old one, it’s not clear that this will be tacked onto the end of the other subscription I’ve already paid for. “1 Device 1 seat” - this sounds like 1PC instead of the 5 I
Is it just me or is everyone else unable to make changes to a policy i created 4 years ago!. Using Mozilla Firefox 65, i am now unable to make any changes to anything in the policy. before i would simply double click, make the changes and then Commit the changes and apply to my test PC to ensure they work but i cannot nor do i see any drop down to Enable "Favor low CPU usage over fast scanning", clicking it does nothing and i am the only Admin that uses the console. People are complianing their pc's come to a complete halt when doign a scheduled scan and i agree, my own PC with a Xeon cant even cope! There has been so many issues with webroot the past year that its becoming a joke among my fellow IT-Sec-SysAdmin buddies that i talk to, do an update, reboot end up with 1000 rundll32.dll process running!. Try explaining that to a managing director. Linked to Kasaya? You know they got breached a while back and a lot of their customers servers got crypt0 and trojans but why is it
My wife's Galaxy S20+ cellphone has a persistent pop up warning that there are 39 viruses infecting her phone. They use a 4 minute countdown clock to strike panic claiming the Sim card is about to be corrupted. Every time she opens her phone it pops up. We run a scan with webroot and of course NO viruses. How do we get this pop up deleted?
On July 16 I sent a message detailing how webroot was not deleting files properly and had eliminated my ability to have windows do the job. No response. Sent 2nd message on July 17th. No response. Sent third message and tried to call support. waited on support line for 17 minutes, no response. Is there some way I can shut off this non-functioning “feature”? And has anyone figured out how to get a response from Webroot?
Currently seeing strange remote addresses for some of my active connections ( e.g. 2607:f8b0:4004:832: ……..) and reflects the type (of connection) as TCP6. The application is HxTsr.exe, but have similar remote addresses for both the Winstore app and backgroundtaskhost.exe. That said, for these same applications / connections, I also have recognizable remote addresses ( eg 126.96.36.199:443 ) with the type of connection being TCP4. What is the difference and is there any need to be alarmed or any action that I should take to correct this? Thanks so much !Joseph
Looking through my “passwords” stored on-computer, I find “.auth-gateway.net” - what is that? Safari has a warning by it for “too easy a password”. I find in my cookies a cookie from the website (my service provider) dot this gateway. It makes me nervous. Does anyone know what this is, and why is it in my machine?
Hello, my webroot updated to the latest version a while ago but I’m seeing an issue with the scans. It will say, “last Scan: 23 hours ago” and “Next Scan: In 23 hours” It keeps doing that and the number of scans done on my computer do not go up. I want to know what the problem with my webroot is. Could someoe please help me. Also I know I can scan it myself but the fact that it doesn’t scan autimatically makes me worried and feel like my Webroot isn’t working properly.
