I recently bought a inexpensive smart watch (android) it has free app download at google store. I also use chrome as browser on computer. The question I have is since I put the app on phone it seems like about the same time When I would be on my windows 10 computer with webroot secure I was using chrome and I clicked on one of my saved sites one of my displayed favorites and it took me to a picture of android. Also I have had other anomalies not getting right to the correct site is this some kind of maleware or worse
I posted the following on another tech forum: I have my business email on GMail. I use 2-factor authentication for access to said business email. I access my business email from 2 computers and 1 mobile Android device. I do not use Outlook or any email client I access it solely through the web browser. I run Webroot AV on both computers and have run MalwareBytes, Hitman Pro and Sophos Virus Removal tool with 0 hits on all.Yesterday, spoofed emails of my business email account originating from all over the world were sent out to my customers with an attached, password protected file that was a virus. In itself this is not unusual, however, each of the emails was a actual reply from a valid email I had received previously. I immediately looked at my google account settings and verified 2-factor auth, I looked at the devices that were using my email and could verify each one. I could find no proof that someone had gained access to my email other than myself.Does anyone have any suggestion
Can't uninstall WSA when logged in as an administrator, Can't open the dashboard, Constantly requesting permission to make changes to computer
Hello,I have been having a large amount of issues with WSA recently. Over the last month I have probably uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times! My issues have varied between having WSA taking up an absurd amount of RAM, being unable to open WSA, and others. Everytime I boot up my computer, WSA asks to allow access to make changes to my computer. Every time I try to open WSA it asks to allow access to make changes, even if I had already said yes at startup. Now, I can't even get the app to open. I can't uninstall the app either because it doesn't recognize me as an administrator (I am logged in as an administrator, I've checked). The hours of availability for customer support are awful and I cannot be at my computer to be able to review the problems with them. Does anyone have any advice?
Webroot is self aborting on scan. Happens most often at startup but not always. Also occurs on some initiated scans but not all. Webroot has been removed and reinstalled - no change. Two different Webroot tech have remotely logged into my system to check operation, inspect logs etc - no change.Problem was “elevated” to tech department and message received for available times. I responded with a wide range of times available (I’m retired). Nothing has happened. Multiple follow up messages with no response. Webroot continues to regularly abort scan.
Received webroot notify viber base.apk contains trojan virus. 1. Ran quarantine and deleted app. 2. Reinstalled viber via google play.. 3. Receieved same error 4. Ran quarantine and delete. According to google play, viber product was updated 26nov19. Uncertain if legitimate problem or discrepancy between webroot and viber. If actual problem, how do i resolve to reinstall app. Thanks in advance. Dj
Hello, After a long process of elimination, disabling everything but Webroot, I’ve determined that it was Webroot that’s keeping me from joining online servers in Assetto Corsa Competizione.(or at least disabling it resolves the issue). I’ve tried things like adding it to the list of allowed programs and disabling WebShield Realtime Shield and Firewall. No luck. I have to shut Webroot down if I want to play. This has been going on for 2 to 3 weeks. I also get the same problem in iRacing. Also, I’ve noticed SimRacingStudio crashing during this period, and it never has before (I use SimRacingStudio to send telemetry data to my motion rig). I’ve found the following error, after reading the logs from Assetto Corsa Competizione: setTimeout error detected 10038 Here’s a link to an article about it. Any Ideas? Thanks
LastPass cannot enter stored passwords on multiple sites, yet is works on some. Could someone please help or suggest a better product? Although the correct passwords are saved in the vault just the others, LP will not enter them. WEBROOT Password manager was so much better! LastPass is only about 10% as functional. I feel betrayed by a company It’d trusted for years.
When my subscription was about to expire, I purchased a new keycode, and activated it on all my PC’s. The program seems to be working fine, but every day I get a pop-up which says: "Your New Keycode Has Been Acitvated. Additional tools and options are available to help you set up your new keycode." I opened a Support Ticket, and they suggested re-installing Webroot. I would rather not go through that hassle, on each of my PC’s. Does anyone know of another way to get this pop-up to stop?(BTW: If I click on the link in the pop-up, it goes to a non-existent web page.)
I first became aware of Webroot over a year ago when I signed up for it through Best Buy when I had them do work on my desktop computer. Then when I was trying to get some files back and called Carbonite to help me, they said that they now owned Webroot. So I signed up for it through them. I saw something on my computer that said the last check up was 20 days ago so I wonder if it is even working? I am not real computer smart so can’t find my account that tells me what I have and how many years I have it. (Should be 3 years). Hope this all makes sense.
Long story short, I am a Dish Network subscriber duped into one of their Protect Plans and it included Webroot Internet Security Plus for three devices. They stated it was completely cloud based, required no downloads/installs, but provided virus and malware protection. Did not make sense to me how the protection could be achieved without installing anything, but was told the Plan was only be $2.99/mo and decided to try it. Then I created my Webroot account, quickly learning I was lied to since I had to download an app to my MacBook and install extensions to my browsers. Since discovering I was lied to about the Plan price that is actually $12.99, and promptly demanded Dish remove it from my bill. Unfortunately, I do not even know if I get to keep the Webroot Internet Security Plus for three devices or not, and am waiting to hear back from Webroot support because Dish somehow did not know. So, in the event that I do get to keep the service, there are a couple things I would like clea
Hello everyone, I’m not sure where to post this question so forgive me if I am in the wrong place; but I need some help. I’m a medically retired Military Police Officer that’s trying to just take things as easy as I possibly can from here on out but I’ve got a problem. For over a year now I have been dealing with some strange issues involving my electronics such as my cell phone, computer, router, and anything that is connected to the internet. Now I know that there’s some people out there that claim that they are being hacked and in reality they have a virus, Trojan, or malware. I’m not saying that isn’t my case either. But I’ve got a little more going on that I need to get some clarification on. I’ll try and make this straight to the point as I can. It seems to have started with getting locked out of my hotmail account over a year ago. I didn’t really think much about it because I hadn’t checked my email regularly for a while and when I got the message my password wasn’t correct I
When I login, the message that Windows Defender and Webroot SecureAnywhere are both turned off. When I run Webroot and start a scan, Webroot suddenly disappear. This is happening on a Surface running Windows 10 Home and on a Surface Pro running Windows 10 Pro. It doesn't occur on my desktop PC which is running Windows 10 Enterprise. I have seen this being reported 3 years ago. The fix suggested cannot be applied to the current version of Windows 10.
LLiddell or freydrew, Thursday, 8/22 at about 4:50 PM EST I received around 15-20 emails that a new topic had been added to the Submit a Business Feature Request subforum. I thought it strange that I received so many at once, but just thought the community was really active. My settings are set-up to send me a notification if someone creates a new topic in this forum. I haven't had the chance to look at all of them and I've been getting to them as I've had time. However, I was responding to one today and noticed that it was submitted by the user 3 months ago. Another one was 7 months ago. Why did I receive all those notifications at once? Honestly, I feel bad because it appears they never had any response at all. I wonder if their threads even appeared on the community. Thought you might want to know. Here's the one I just responded to.
