Domestic Abuse and Cybersecurity
I’m dealing with a domestic abuse case with a cybersecurity architect and just found out he’s been living a double life with another woman for the last 4 years. He has always threatened he can get into my cameras at home, phones, and monitor me via my Wi-Fi. I’ve also found suspicious apps installed on devices like my fire tv and phone, and was wondering if anyone could help me prove his actions and trace them even if he has access to many cybersecurity resources and IP masking apps.
Webroot Group policy deployment struggles (Via CW Command)...
Hi guys, hoping someone can help.I have done a search but the only guide I could find in here was this, which doesn't really cover my issue: How to install using GPO | Webroot CommunityI am currently setting up our client base with webroot endpoint protection via ConnectWise Command - has anyone else done this also? Steps I am taking as follows, but the long and short of it is that the agent (And webroot by proxy) is not installing:Download the desktop install agent and create a GP that should install the software package. I save the install file in a shared location which for the sake of troubleshooting, I have made available to EVERYONE I am assigning the package via a UNC path so that it is accessible where they are on the network I am creating a security group and adding all domain computers to the group I add this group to the group policy and give them permissions In the policy I configure wait time to 120 seconds I configure it to wait for the network before logging in as wellN
Unable to remove Webroot
I have a server that I wish to remove Webroot from. The software has been "fully" uninstalled and the only remnant I can find is the application entry in "Ädd/Remove Programs". I have tried both the Webroot removal tool and the upgrade tool which both run and report success however the entry remains. >> Webroot SecureAnywhere 9.18.44 Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Deactivating a device and reclaiming the license - Webroot Home
Hi, Ever since the old console is not accessible to new/renewed licenses, all the KB’s I found about this are referring to the old (and beloved) console, where we had the “Deactivate” button. The issue I’m facing now is that a device is still showing attached to the license key, but I don’t know how to deactivate it. If I uninstall, will it deactivate? But what if I can’t uninstall as this device has issues booting the OS (hard drive crashed). What can I do?So to summarize the questions for the HOME version of Webroot:When I uninstall a device from the device itself (Windows/macOS) → does it deactivate and reclaim the license also in the console? How can I deactivate and reclaim the license if a device is not bootable anymore ?Thanks,Idan.
*Secure Erase feature not working and/or erasing large files too quickly?
Hi everyone, I am trialing the most recent version of Webroot I S Complete and had a question about the Secure Erase feature. I noticed when I put it on 3 or even 7 (max # of overwrite) Webroot seems almost waaay too quick to shred the file. I noticed this especially on say files around 1gb in size (even video) If talking specifically about the max overwrite of 7 passes, is this normal for it to be so quick?? I’ve had a few other file shredders that I sometimes use too, and if I chose either 3 to 7 wipes they take significantly longer (maybe minute or two) Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if I need to put a support ticket in? Btw, here is a link that someone else brought this up longer ago for more details: Thanks all of you for being great help and take care today! Jeff 🙂
Webroot broke sophos
I support a user who was given Webroot to install from HSBC bank. He already had Sophos Endpoint installed. During the latest sophos update it appears that Webroot took exception to something in the update and alerted the user who instructed Webroot to clean it. SmartShield/DeepFreeze: Public/Kiosk Workstations that Auto-Wipe
I have a client that has several kiosk/public workstations available to their users. Every night these workstations are restarted and all changes made throughout the day are reverted. With their previous antivirus solution, I was provided a listing of folders that should be excluded by the reverting software. Is there a similar list for Webroot? I'd like to cut them over to our Webroot solution very soon and don't know how it will be affected by the nightly restarts and reverts back to their default settings. Thanks!
Phishing Inquiry via Email to Epson Printer
Dear Community, A couple weeks ago, I received an email directly to my Epson Printer, which came directly through, such as it was a fax or something, but I know the Sender used my Epson Printer email address to send it. On the message, they claim to have access to my key strokes on my phone internet browser, demanding that I send them money via Bitcoin. I never responded or did anything but just beef up my security software on my computers and mobile devices. Should I be concerned, or given they’ve only tried to contact me through my assigned Epson Printer email address, that would mean that they do not already have my other email addresses or details to be able to harm me digitally? Please advise.
Does anyone have any idea when this version will be released? I know there was a question about how to perform the needed regsitry entry through Webroot but Webroot stated it will automatically add this registry key through this 19 release. Hoping this is going to occur prior to Microsoft's rollup release this week which includes the fix for Meltdown and Scepter.
