Everytime I go on Google Chrome, Mcaffee and Norton bombard me with at least 20 virus warnings that my computer is infected. I must carefully close each screen by selecting the x in the middle of the screen on the right side. I had my Geek Squad people remove the problem a week ago but it has returned. It has obviously embedded itself into my PC.
I sent a ticket to the webroot website and no one answered me. I bought my webroot subscription renewal for $ 19.99 on March 8, 2020. I noticed on May 25, 2020 that my premium subscription was no longer there and I cannot say since when the problem was there. The subscription amount was charged to my credit card account and I see the transaction in the purchase history on google play. I thought I may have received a refund, but no I received nothing. I would love to receive the service for which I paid! Can someone help me? Thank you!
Currently seeing strange remote addresses for some of my active connections ( e.g. 2607:f8b0:4004:832: ……..) and reflects the type (of connection) as TCP6. The application is HxTsr.exe, but have similar remote addresses for both the Winstore app and backgroundtaskhost.exe. That said, for these same applications / connections, I also have recognizable remote addresses ( eg 18.104.22.168:443 ) with the type of connection being TCP4. What is the difference and is there any need to be alarmed or any action that I should take to correct this? Thanks so much !Joseph
Hello, Recently my Windows 10 OS was corrupted but repaired. However, the Webroot icon in my taskbar is now gone. I’ve checked the Webroot site and it seems that I’m still covered but I’m not sure if Webroot will notify me when they’re running a scan on my system ( I prefer to see these pop-ups as they are reassuring). How can I get the icon back and will Webroot continue its notifications?
Previous subscriptions 3 (separate) ended, renewed on one, tried to add two prior computers, even removed webroot and re downloaded, both show they are now good for 365 days, but do not show up in console. in console, only the original renewal one shows up. there is no place to add computers, it just gives link to download and run scan, did that. on the two not showing up, started them over, still not showing up, can’t get webroot on the phone, so basically getting zero service for my renewal, very frustrated. want all 3 computers to show up in console as before. they show as needing renewal and have old key number grayed out, can’t add new one there or anywhere else. what is the workaround to this? assuming I can ever reach webroot on thephone, highly doubt… anyhow, any ideas? all 3 are windows based computers. windows 10, had no trouble installing after uninstalling original version.
I found out that these apps may contain issues. But a friend of mine tried this. Is it like going on an exciting adventure to download Stick War Legacy from a website instead of the Play Store, or could it be risky and cause problems for your device's security? How can you make sure to install the game safely and avoid any potential issues on the internet? Any experiences? please share
Trying to sign into the Identity Portal, after entering the second and fourth number of my Security Code (or whatever digits are assigned), I get a logged-in page, followed immediately by a logged-out page, followed immediately by the sign-in page for entering user name and password. What gives? Thanks!
Hello, I have been using the Webroot for a quite a time and while gong through the notes and news of the product. I came through one of the Webroot's feature “Pseudo Execution” and can’t understand the concept clearly. Pseudo execution is the feature of the Webroot executed when the file/code entered in the system is unknown to the Webroot database Will be the unknown file executed partially in the system or any sandbox? How the journaling will be done and how the logs are stored? If the file/code turned out to be good one the product will whitelist and allows for full execution. If the file turned out to be a Malware/Ransomware or which leads to harm the system, then will it be quarantined or blocked? If blocked will that be notified to the user? Can the user change from Block to Allow? What happens to the file after it kept in quarantine, is it still able to access the files in the system or restricted? What happens to the files that are effected by the malicious file/code before s
I need to know how much longer Webroot is going to support Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. I’ve heard rumors of a version split, one to control legacy OSs like these and one that would continue to receive updates. However, I don’t have a confirmation on this, nor how long it will be supported. I received my 60 day notice right before Thanksgiving. There was an email address in the email to contact if you had questions, CustomerSuccess@webroot.com. I emailed them on 12/4/2019 and 8 days later I still haven’t received a response to the question I’m posting here. I also have been working with support on another issue and brought this up to see if they knew anything. The support rep was extremely nice, but he was unable to give me any info on this question. We’re a business customer and need to be able to make a decision, which requires input. If we stick with Webroot we need to know that Webroot is going to support these OSs for the following year because Webroot doesn’t offer a ref
I rarely “sign-in” to my.webrootanywhere.com, but attempted to do so today, after renewing my subscription. When entering my username/email and password, I am then asked to enter an “Authentication Code”. I cannot locate an “Authentication Code” anywhere. I have a “security code”, a “product keycode”, but I do not recall ever having an “Authentication Code”. As far as I recall, I never set up 2-factor-authentication (and if I did, I do not receive an email or text with a code after entering my username and password). Please advise as to how I might resolve this issue. Thank you.
Hello,When I log into my account it lists 9 computers being protected. Most of these are old computers I no longer have. Not sure why they are still showing up. I physically don't have the computers. How do I remove them from my list of computers in my account?ThanksKeven
I need to embed a group association into the wsasme.msi file before providing the installer to a client. I've reviewed the documentation and tried to use Orca.exe to do so, and in my tests the endpoint is always added to the Default Group. I've selected the group I want to specify, then from the Actions menu chose 'Deploy endpoints to this group' in order to obtain the group code. I then tried setting the CMDLINE property in the .msi file to this: "SME,quiet,Group=-nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn" /qn /l*v %windir%wsa_install_log.txt Trying to make this work, I've tried making the word group lower-case. I've tried removing everything after the quote marks (at the end of the Group code). I've tried using the Group name instead of number. No matter what I try, my test endpoint is always added to the Default Group. My test endpoint is a VM, and after each failed attempt, I am uninstalling WR, deactivating the endpoint in the WR portal, renaming the end
