Have a new Samsung Tab A that when i go to log in to my Webroot account, I receive an error message - “Too Many Open Sessions. Please log out of Webroot on one of your devices.” I factory reset the old Tab A and only have a phone, desk top and new Tablet, that’s only 3 out of 5. So why the message and how do I clear it ??
Hey guys this is my first post… After a Webroot update, task manager is showing 2 more processes , WRCoreService.x64 and WRSkyClient.x64.I know someone already posted about it but i still don’t have any info on those 2 and what they are for. Also as a customer who likes lightweight software, watching 2 extra processes from my AV without any info is not the best.I would love to see all those processes (4 in my case) grouped into 1. Cheers
Previous subscriptions 3 (separate) ended, renewed on one, tried to add two prior computers, even removed webroot and re downloaded, both show they are now good for 365 days, but do not show up in console. in console, only the original renewal one shows up. there is no place to add computers, it just gives link to download and run scan, did that. on the two not showing up, started them over, still not showing up, can’t get webroot on the phone, so basically getting zero service for my renewal, very frustrated. want all 3 computers to show up in console as before. they show as needing renewal and have old key number grayed out, can’t add new one there or anywhere else. what is the workaround to this? assuming I can ever reach webroot on thephone, highly doubt… anyhow, any ideas? all 3 are windows based computers. windows 10, had no trouble installing after uninstalling original version.
I had to reset my computer recently and afterwards I used a flash drive I had backed up my files onto to reinstall some word documents. After I did this, I scanned the folder with all my documents and webroot said I had over 3,000 files in the folder when I know there are only a couple hundred at most. Then, I scanned an individual word document and it said that one single document contained 11 files. This only happened with word documents. I had a few notepad files that still only had one file, but for all my microsoft word files, it scans multiple files. What would cause this? This was from one single document. This was from the entire folder I had my documents in. According to this, there are only 317 files inside. And yet, this is what the scan looked like after I scanned that same folder. It says there’s about 100 times as many files in the folder as the properties window said.
Hi. I can’t use cryptomining software with Webroot running on my computer. I have whitelisted these apps but I believe WSA just kills any applications that use 100% (or near 100%) of processor for several minutes. It’s possible to override this feature? I love WSA and don’t want remove it. Thanks!
I have received a suspicious email from Upclick for renewal of PDF Suite 2017. It advises that there will be an automatic renewal charge of $59.95 for the renewal in July. I have no knowledge of what this is for...and am assuming it is a scam. There is no mention of a credit card to be charged, just the dollar amount and date. Is this a phishing scam?
Hi , we have recently been pen tested and the testers were able to upload a eicar.txt test virus file into one of our applications without Webroot detecting it. According to Webroot support, they do not support eicar test files. Just wondering if Webroot has its own malware test file which is of txt, .doc or pdf format.
In other common tech professions, you can just start up your computer and make a game, develop a program, or build some machine at home with relative ease and show companies your work. But what about cyber-security? How are you supposed to impress companies or show that you're competent? I don't have access to sophisticated programs and technologies to develop and test security measures, or is there another way? I imagine knowing concepts of CS is one thing, but what about the application side?
Yesterday I had noticed that the Webroot Filtering Extension was saying that it could be updated so I clicked it. I was unsure if it did anything because it didn’t indicate that anything happened. Afterwards, however, I noticed that no matter what site I was on the icon in the top-right corner of the screen would be the normal logo with a red dot in the bottom-left corner of it. No green check mark, no yellow exclamation point. In addition on every search engine, search results do not have an approval/warning next to them. The assumption is that the extension is no longer working and I don’t know why. After that, the next time I opened Firefox the extension logo is invisible, but still says “Webroot Filtering Extension” when mousing over it. Clicking it opens nothing. Next, I would disable and re-enable the extension but that would just bring me to a page telling me to verify my keycode, which I did (I can’t remember if the account is under our mom’s email or mine, but my brother and
A friend of mine is receiving emails say they are from me and it displays my name but the email address next to my name in <> is someone else &, it changes with each new email. The message is always different and the link it tries to get her to click is different accept for the link suffix always ends with .info. How can we stop this? Thank you, Terry
I have an Untangle NG firewall which uses Webroot Brightcloud engine for their Web Filter application. As recently as few days ago, Viber picture attachments stopped working (won’t send). I have pinned this down to the “Phishing and Other Frauds” category blocking this functionality. All other Viber features are unaffected, as far as I know. I have temporarily unblocked this category to regain the sending of pictures in Viber. But I’d like to enable this category again in the near future for protection. What must be done? Thank you.
I sent a ticket to the webroot website and no one answered me. I bought my webroot subscription renewal for $ 19.99 on March 8, 2020. I noticed on May 25, 2020 that my premium subscription was no longer there and I cannot say since when the problem was there. The subscription amount was charged to my credit card account and I see the transaction in the purchase history on google play. I thought I may have received a refund, but no I received nothing. I would love to receive the service for which I paid! Can someone help me? Thank you!
Hello, I used to manually install the Webroot extension for Google Chrome through the following link: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webroot-filtering-extensi/kjeghcllfecehndceplomkocgfbklffd Today I discovered that the URL is no longer working and reports a 404 error. Does someone know if there is a new URL? Thank you. Daniele
This is an ongoing issue and I’ve emailed support about it but it was not resolved. But I’m asking here in case there is a solution they did not suggest. Windows 10 Webroot SecureAnywhere 18.104.22.168 When I right click an exe or .zip I want to have scanned, Webroot is not there. To scan a single file, I have to open Webroot >PC Security >Scan and Shields >Custom Scan >Custom >Add File/Folder >Find the file >Scan File. That is a lot of work to scan one file. I enjoy the comfort of knowing a file is safe to run but I’m also lazy at times. The Advanced Settings >Scan Settings >Enable Right-Click Scan in Windows Explorer box is checked. I’ve uninstalled Webroot. Reinstalled. Made sure box was checked. No change. Unclicked box, rebooted, clicked it again, rebooted. No change. First noticed on new PC install. Problem exists on other PC laptop. Any other ideas?
