I may have hooked up my laptop to the network to transfer some files at about that time, but I didn't install anything on purpose. The last installation I did was the day before, a trial version of Nitro Pro -- but I doubt that's relevant.

Anyone else have something like that happen?

If you got it through your network, then you should ask your administrators if they implemented some "auto-rollout" to all machines that appear in your network. Webroot doesn't miraculously appear without someone (either you or someone else) having told it to install in some way.

Welcome to the Webroot Community kvc,

In addition to what jgouverneur mentioned we are currently in the process of migrating all of our Prevx customers over to Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus.

If none of these scenarios apply to you then I would suggest opening a support ticket here and we will be able to provide you with some additional information.
Thanks, DanS! That has to be it. I've used Prevx for a long time, and always thought it performed admirably. You just dispelled all my worries.
