CSB Hyper-V Agent V9.10

Key items in this release:

  • Improved backup performance
  • To improve the performance of incremental backups, the Hyper-V Agent now determines which parts of a VM disk have changed since the last backup and only reads disk blocks that have changed. Previous Hyper-V Agent versions read all blocks of a disk during an incremental backup, even if some disk blocks had not changed.
  • To determine which disk blocks have changed, the Hyper-V Agent uses Resilient Change Tracking (RCT): a Hyper-V feature that tracks changes on VM disks. RCT is available in Windows Server 2016 or later for VMs with configuration version 6.2 or later.
  • Note: Because RCT is not available on Windows Server 2012 R2, Hyper-V Agent 9.1 must read all disk blocks during incremental backups in Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Security enhancements have been added in Hyper-V Agent 9.10.

The Hyper-V Agent Management & Host service is now including support for Windows 2022:

  • Windows Server 2022
  • Windows Server 2022 Core

Build Version 10.10

Key items in this release:

  • Two-factor authentication helps companies strengthen their security posture. Please note, two-factor authentication will not be enforced during the v10.10 upgrade, but it will be required at a later date.
  • Enhanced location services gives administrators even more insight into a device’s location if it is lost or stolen. This enhancement also provides the IP location and a detailed status of the device, so that admins can easily troubleshoot any problems or errors.
  • User list and device list improvements helps companies with more than 100 users or devices easily search for specific devices or users.

Build Version 22.3.1

Key items in this release:

  • Find and Recover Your Lost Exchange Data in a Few Clicks – Next-gen UX. Our next-gen UI with the Browse Backup functionality mimics Outlook’s folder structure, simplifying search and recovery. Seamlessly navigate and locate your lost Exchange item (Email, Contact, Calendar, Task, or Note) by browsing through our Outlook-like backup. Find and recover what you are looking for in a couple of clicks!
  • Restore Public Channels in Microsoft 365 Groups and Teams. We've now extended our comprehensive Teams backup (channels, calendars, conversations & metadata) to include in-place restore for a specific channel within a Team. This includes the metadata (name, settings, owners, members, etc.), posts, files and tabs (including application data).
  • New Data Center in France. Bonjour! We're pleased to announce the addition of the Amazon AWS Data Center in Paris, France to our selection of cloud backup data centers. The ability to choose from a wide range of data centers helps our customers comply with local data sovereignty laws that regulate the physical location and movement of data. In addition to Paris, we also offer European DCs in Dublin and Frankfurt, as well as DCs in the UK, US, Canada and Australia.
