At any given moment, some brilliant hacker is out there inventing new and creative ways to breach systems, steal data, and cause trouble. In particular, cybercriminals love to take advantage of current events (such as COVID-19), so they can increase the likelihood of their own success by capitalizing on people’s fear, trust, sense of urgency, and general desire to find information.

Here’s an example of what we’re talking about. During March and April of this year, our in-house threat intelligence showed that at least 20,000 new websites were created with COVID-19, Coronavirus, or closely related terms in their domain name. According to our data, at least 2% of those websites are malicious. On top of that, our data also shows major spikes in targeted phishing campaigns that pretend to offer info on COVID-19, personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, government health advice, and more.

As more people work, study, and interact online, we all need to take some cyber-safety steps to protect ourselves and our families from evolving threats and cyberattacks.

That’s what we had in mind when we put together our brand new Work From Home (WFH) Playbook. It’s full of easy, low-maintenance tips to help you design your own well-informed, comfortable, and secure home technology setup.

Organized into three parts, this playbook will teach you what you need to know about cyberattacks and how to identify and close security gaps, so you can keep yourself and your family safe.

  • Part 1: Understand What You’re Up Against
The first step is to know your enemy. That’s why this first section covers some common cyberattack types that you might run into at home, so you’re aware of potential risks in different situations.
  • Part 2: Set up a Productive WFH Space
The second step to ensure an effective and secure WFH strategy is to properly set up your physical workspace. With a few simple tips, tricks, and housekeeping items, you can set yourself up for high productivity and comfort as you work and study from home.
  • Part 3: Fortify Your Cyber Environment
When all of us are away from the support system of dedicated IT personnel, it’s important to take our security into our own hands. This section covers easy ways to help you identify and lock down any security gaps in your home setup.

Download your free copy of the playbook today so you start making your work or study space more resilient against cyberattacks, data loss, and productivity drains.
