I just received an email from Webroot stating that I need to check and see if I need to add the app onto my Android phone. In the last week I have gotten three yellow shields that said that I needed to get updated on my system and to fix it tap the button, which I did and everything is green ( yahoo! :D ) However, this new email that just arrived said that I need to go to the Google Play store to check on the app and when I did, it appears that I have to purchase the app to add to my phone. Why isn't this part of my subscription? I'm confused because I thought that the app I have on my phone to keep my phone safe and secure automatically updates by touching base with Webroot hourly when it does my scans. Is that not correct? Sorry if I sound like a dork here but I don't get tech stuff at all and I thought I was styling when I added the app to my new phone that I just got, having forgotten how I had done it on my last phone 2 years ago.
Hi, I'm currently using Norton and am growing to hate it, used and loved Bitdefender for years until it became buggy and started acting like malware. Have used McAfee, won't go near Kaspersky. I have used Webroot in the past and left it but don't remember why. So how is Webroot's performance hit these days ? How is the protection compared to BD and Kas which always seem to score the highest in testing ? Browser protection strong ? I have 82 days left on my Norton ten seat license but may bail before then. So is Webroot worth using these days ? Thanks for your honest opinions.
A few times when I tried to start up my PC I got a black screen with a cursor in the middle instead of my log in screen. The third time this happened I started pressing buttons on my keyboard. While I was fiddling with the F buttons, mainly F1 to F4, and the print screen, scroll lock, and pause/break buttons, my PC started working again, Why?
My battle with a malware sent me on a path to WebRoot. The name of the malware has slipped my mind (that's good!), but it attacted all my .exe files. My computer was runing F-secure from charter, which did not block it or find it. The computer was also running iolo System mechanic. To rid the malware, I downloaded and ran MalwareBytes, which did stop the problem. I also ended up installing SpeedyPC Pro to finish the cleanup after the malware removal. Next, researched new protection for the PC and choose WebRoot (hooray!). No I am not employed by WebRoot, just enjoying it. Now, I have a subscription to System Mechanic 10 and SpeedyPC Pro. Which one of these will compliment Webroot the best? Or, maybe, I do not need either? From running both of them simutaneously, SpeedyPC seems to be doing a better job than System Mechanic. Looking for some good feedback. Neil
I exported my password/site data using Webroot Encrypted format. I purchased a new subscription and would like to import my saved data into Webroot but Webroot will only allow me to import in the CSV format. Any suggestions on how I can import my data back into Webroot? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, Having the paid Premier version. I have set scheduled scans on a weekly basis. However every 7th day I am getting a warning that it is for a week when a scan wasn't run and I have to trigger it manually. It means that even if I have set weekly scans, they are not running. Daily update of definitions works fine, just the scans are problem. I am not sure but it might be that the problem with the missing scans began since update to 2.3.1336. Any clue to resolve it? Thx, pegas
On one of the machines I installed WRSA complete there is no icon in the tray. I can see the program listed under My Computer, and even send a shortcut to the desktop but it won't open up. The only way I can get it to scan is to click on the C:drive and have it do a scan with Web Root. Can someone help?

This is not a big deal but it has piqued my curiosity. One thing that is always mentioned when listing the advantages of WSA over traditional AV products is that WSA takes up less than 1 MB of space on the hard drive, if you check in program files that seems to be the case, but is WSA creating other files and folders in other areas of the disk that are a bit larger than that? The reason I ask is that the uninstaller program I use is reporting that the actual size of WSA is well over 17 MB, while that is still incredibly small compared to traditional AV programs, it is substantially larger than 1 MB. So does WSA only install files in program files, or does it also install larger files and folders in other areas on the disk? Note: The date in the screenshot is the installation date. I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Complete on my HTC Incredible 2 (Android). My battery has been draining so rapidly lately that I ordered a new one, and that one is doing the same thing. My investigations led me to the battery usage on my phone, which showed that SecureAnywhere is using 43%. When I went into SecureAnywhere, I attempted to go the Antivirus Scan screen, but the scan was frozen and would not cancel. I restarted the device, and now the scanning always freezes on this package: "Scanning SD card: com.cinemark.mobile_12.apk." Please advise.
I have used PrevX for almost 5 years with not a single complaint, and my computers have always remained very fast in startup, and in browsing. I have always has PrevX on my 2 primary pcs until the recent upgrade to webroot, and since I just purchased two more pcs I've added webroot to them as well. I now have Webroot on a total of 3 desktop pcs, and 1 laptop. I'm running Windows 7 HP on 2 desktops, Windows XP Pro SP3 on the last desktop, and the laptop is new with W7 Starter installed. I'm using the same keycode on 2 desktops, and a different keycode on the remaining pc and laptop. Since upgrading from PrevX to Webroot on my primary pcs I've noticed a that all 4 computers are VERY slow to startup. Once the desktop loads all icons, these icons remain inactive for around 1-2 minutes on each pc. At first I thought it was just on my own computer, until today when I accessed all 4 pcs, and am now seeing that all 4 of them have this same problem. It's as if clickign the ic
I need some help. I have the most up-to-date version of Webroot on my Mac (Safari as my browser) and this morning I noticed something odd with the Webroot Web Threat Shield. The shield reports that it is on, yet I don't see the "W' icon on my browser and no check marks or other icons appear on the side of links when I do a Google search. This makes me believe that Webroot is not analyzing links anymore! Also, I noticed (after a restart to my computer) that a prompt appears telling me that the "Safari Web Extension" needs to be installed. I click "Install" and nothing happens. Also there is still no "W" icon on my browser or icons after I do this. As a side note, usually I am able to right click on a link and be able to run the URL through the Webroot analyzer to check if the site is safe. I tried that on a few Google links this morning and that option no longer exists. Does anyone know what is going on and how I might be able to fix this sit

Hi, Having the firewall setup "Warn if any process connects to the internet unless explicitly allowed" and wanted to check how it works ending up quite surprised in the end ... I chose vlc.exe process (VLC player) under Network applications and changed it to Block from Allow. Afterwards I had run VLC player and had triggered the update check supposing that VLC wouldn't be able to connect to the internet due to imposed the connection rule to Block. However to my surprise VLC could check for the updates. Am I missing something as regards the firewall rules? Is there any way how could I properly check the firewall blocks the blocked processes/applications for the outbound connections? Thanks & regards, pegas EDIT: Strange ... I changed the firewall setting to "Warn if any new untrusted process connects to the internet", chose revouninstaller.exe for instance, changed to Block and tried to check updates of Revo Uninstaller what ended up in having the bl
There's talk at Wilder's Security Forum of a new Ransomeware which is spreading by P2P networks. This Ransomeware is able to flash your bios, but it is not known at this time the changes it is making to the bios. One user which has already fallen victim to this malware says replacing your hard drive will not remove the threat. Zfactor at Wilders is trying to obatain a sample which compromised a friends computer. The victim says he has scanned his computer with norton, eset, avira, avast, dr web, bitdefender, webroot, gdata, fsecure, panda, avg, emsisoft, vipre, mcafee, comodo, ikarus, kaspersky, trend, fortinet among others , and none of them have detected the threat. The victim of this threat says he still has not been able to remove the threat even after replacing the hard drive. He says he is going to replace the memory next which I myself do not think will help from the sound of it. The Ransomewear has him locked out of the bios. I think as we find out
Hi, I got Webroot with my Samsung laptop at the Best Buy Black Friday bundle, and I just wiped out the computer, and I need to install an antivirus, just to find that I don't have my keycode. I don't know what to do. I DO know that I can download the software online, but I have lost the keycode. Sorry that I double posted, I forgot I didn't have Webroot Security PLUS.

I have in the past had window problems, as in like when I try to scan with Malwarebytes the drive selection screen appears behind whatever else is on screen for whatever reason. Recently I have had two oddities with webroot which will be listed below, and then I had an oddity with firefox that was similar to the MB thing I mentioned above. Could these be connected? 1) When webroot complete started its scheduled scan it seemed to freeze, and when I tried to move the scan window there was another scan windows behind it. One of the windows never did start running again, and the other did finish the scan finding nothing. 2) Just recently when I tried to full scan, twice it closed the window, two webroot icons appeared at the bottom right of the screen instead of the normal singular icon, and then the webroot screen popped back up like it was restarted as happens after an update. 3) and then the above thing with firefox.
