When I have purchased other antivirus programs I was always able to see how often the program updated it's definitions or threats. How often does webroot update itself? I cannot find any settings on my program to find out if it does this automatically or for me to set a timetable each day. thank you, Lisa
New Unreal Engine 4 gallery showing off the engine running at 8K resolution has appeared online. The screens look incredible to say the least, you could even say they looks better than real life. New to Webroot and new to Mac. Webroot System Analyzer identifies problems...ie:Time Machine Backup not enabled, high amount of RAM used by processes, large number of open files, firewall disabled, Gatekeeper disabled. How do I fix these things? Prior to Webroot I used Iobit and it fixed problems automatically or guided me through the process. I don't seem to have this option on Webroot. What do I do?
Just purchased Webroot Secure Anywhere with Password Manager. I am having a problem logging into my Secure Anywhere account via the IE or Firefox toolbar icon. Keeps telling me that it does not recognise the email acount I used - even though it is the same account I used to set up the account. Does not matter which browser I use. Can anyone help?
I have looked through the website and have not seen this particular issue. I have an HTC One (M7) and have Webroot secureAnywhere loaded. Things seemed to be running fine until recently. Webroot will start to do it's scan and it gets halfway through when it crashes and goes back to the Webroot app stating that I may be at risk and that my scan is out of date. There is a button that says "Fix This Now". I click on it, and I get the same results - scans until about halfway and then kicks itself out to the app. My phone is not rooted. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Webroot, but I end up with the same results. Does anyone have any ideas? Gary

I purchased WSA Complete on 26th Dec 2013. My new product does not show safe searches (green ticks etc) in either IE11 or Google, nor does the filter extension appear in IE11 add-ons. Do I have to wait for the key to be updated on Webroot`s database before I get this (like in my old WSA Antivirus)? If so, how long does it take, as it could be a security issue as regards my children browsing the internet? Also, WSA Complete comes with a Toolbar. Does the Toolbar only deal with password management? I prefer to type in passwords so have disabled this. Or does it do more? Any advice greatly appreciated as it`s all new to me. Last point (for any webroot staff). I`ve changed my avatar pic once. Can I change it again, or are you only allowed the one change? Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all George
Hi Please could someone let me know which specific ports to allow outbound to the following URLs as part of the SecureAnywhere Endpoint Protection setup: Communicating Through a Firewall If a firewall is in place, please allow Webroot’s path masks through the firewall, as described in the following table. PATHINFORMATION *.prevxinfo.com -- *.prevx.com -- *.amazonaws.com -- *.cloudfront.net -- *.webrootcloudav.com Covers the g-url’s as well as several other target addresses. *.*.webrootcloudav.com Some devices don’t like a single * for urls that contain dots in the value of *. *.p4.webrootcloudav.com For devices that don't like multiple *’s. *.compute.amazonaws.com Covers inbound communication from the Amazon cloud servers. *.webroot.com To be used for future communications *.webrootanywhere.com To be used for future communications Thanks
The ratings that used to show up next to websites no longer are available. The little green W at the top of the screen says the Webroot agent is shutdown. This has been going on for several days. Also, when I try to connect to the customer support website via the Webroot Secure Anywhere screen I get a message from Norton ConnectSafe blocking me from a "malicious site." I use Norton Online Backup, but NOT Norton Antivirus. I use WIndows 10, and Chrome. How do I get my website ratings back? Thank you for your time...
My windows 8 computer just got infected with the updatenowpro virus. Webroot did not detect it. This virus is really an adware attack that is launches a bunch of windows anytime you open your browser. I purchased other software to eliminate this threat. Has anyone else encounted this? Why isn't Webroot on top of it?
We are deploying Webroot to our clients and have been running into an issue with users unable to login at a certain point. After testing we found it has to do with Webroot being installed on there but we cant figure out what is causing the issue and we've had to remove Webroot. This seems to only be affecting Server 2008 R2 environments.
When running Webroot on my Mac the WSDaemon consistently uses 100% of the CPU. The fans spin up and the system slows to a crawl even when doing basic tasks like web browsing. If I kill the process or reboot the machine everything is ok for ~15 minutes and then WSDaemon goes back to 100% CPU usage. I’ve attempted uninstalling / reinstalling Webroot and that hasn’t helped. In addition I can’t get the Webroot window or menu bar icon to show up. macOS version: 10.15.4 (19E266)
For some reason today, my attempt(s) return the following error:Not all analysis routines could be completed because System Analyzer couldn't connect online. The major addition to my life is the fact that Microsoft Edge made behind-the-scene changes to Edge while I slept overnight. The error is bizarre because it always remains consistent even if I run System Analyzer while I am CONNECTED online!
How to Run WSA alongside Windows Defender on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 Only, not Windows 10!Knowledge Base
This information has been verified as accurate on March 2nd, 2020, by APruneau. Question How do you run WSA alongside Windows Defender on Windows 8, 8.1 as Windows Defender is a Full AV. Answer You have to make a change to the registry so if your not able to do this, please make sure a Windows Expert does the change! "Also Webroot is not in any way responsible or liable if anyone makes changes to the Registry." Windows Defender Tweak if users want to run with WSA on Windows 8, Windows 8.1.Windows 8 and 8.1 detects other AVs in the Action Center and blocks Defender from becoming active. You can create a value of type DWORD named HideActionCenter (under HKLMSoftwareWRData on 32bit or for 64bit HKLMSoftwareWow6432NodeWRData) set to '1' and reboot and it will prevent Webroot from adding into the Action Center to allow Defender to stay active. Note: This registry tweak will not work on Windows 10!
We deployed webroot to our machines recently, and my Mac user's computer says "protection disabled" and the icon shows an exclamation point, despite the protections being enabled. You can even see in the screenshot that it scanned recently. What exactly is "disabled" that is causing it to alarm this to a user?
