Questions About a Webroot Product? Start Here!
Hi I recently had a virus on my computer so when I got it fixed, they installed Webroot automatically. I have played toon town rewritten for a while (stupid I know) and when I went to play again it keeps crashing. when I looked it up it said that it may be something with the antivirus and I agree. I know there is nothing wrong with the site and I believe it to be a false positive. I tried submitting it to Webroot as a false positive but the file was too long as it was the launcher. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know!
Android OS flaw that enables apps to view passwords copied to clipboard...
Recent news articles pointed out that the Android OS has a flaw that enables any installed app to access information copied to the clipboard. This presents a problem for virtually every password management program (e.g., Lastpass, Keepass). See this link for more info: http://www.talkandroid.com/227369-password-managers-on-android-are-not-as-secure-as-one-would-think/ Note: I tested for and verified that this flaw exists by copying a newly created Login and Password that I stored in KeePass, and then using the proof-of-concept App (mentioned in the above article) ClipCaster to see if it could "capture" the data; it did. In other words, password managment apps like Lastpass and KeePass store logins/passwords and allow users to copy them to the clipboard for easy entering into online forms, etc. The Android OS flaw enables any app to access this dat

I keep asking for the problem to be fixed here https://www.webrootanywhere.com/servicetalk.asp?source= and all I keep getting is my "old" key extended, and "not" the actual problem fixed. I really don't have time for this. Either somebody correct the error/bug, or I'm looking forward to another company to do buisness with. Can I get the highest manager please? I'm ready to throw in the towel if this get yet another extension. I don't want sorry's , or free hand outs. I'm just looking to continue like last year....without any major problems, and I don't have to bother you with this matter again. Last but not least if this gets fixed, and it's another repeat next year then I'm done. What 's the point of 5 days extra here, 30 days here etc. Roll everything over to the new key code already. I have everything backed up. Good Luck!
Webroot® SecureAnywhere™ - Antivirus doesn't find all viruses.
I run a side line pc tech business out of my house. Most of my customers usually have some virus or another. 9 times out of 10 they take my recommendation to install your antivirus software but it doesn't find all viruses. I have to use adwcleaner, malwarebytes, and mbar (made by malwarebytesJ) and in some occasions tdsskiller by Kapersky. I almost always have to run four programs to clean their pc's. Can someone explain to me why webroot can't find all these viruses? TIA Dave
Sandboxie, WSA and explorer high usage. Oh my!
Hi all Not sure if this is related to the explorer ram usage. I'm running win 8.1 64 bit. I had the same explorer issue a few months ago. I had at one point uninstalled WSA to try some new software. After a week I reinstalled WSA and my normal configuration. I almost always have WSA paired with sandboxie and the weekly product du jour. This week I believe that I had CFW installed. I happened to check out task manager one day. (yeah I'm a geek) I noticed that explorer was using 290K. Ok that's fine. I then look down at the next process and its sandboxie service. Its chugging away at 280K and then sandboxie control is at 285K. Now mind you nothing is running sandboxed either. It's idle and running that high. I then look at WSA control process and realize that it's monitoring both of these process. Not sure why but they are. I change it allow and half expect the problem to be
How to Run WSA alongside Windows Defender on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 Only, not Windows 10!Knowledge Base
This information has been verified as accurate on March 2nd, 2020, by APruneau. Question How do you run WSA alongside Windows Defender on Windows 8, 8.1 as Windows Defender is a Full AV. Answer You have to make a change to the registry so if your not able to do this, please make sure a Windows Expert does the change! "Also Webroot is not in any way responsible or liable if anyone makes changes to the Registry." Windows Defender Tweak if users want to run with WSA on Windows 8, Windows 8.1.Windows 8 and 8.1 detects other AVs in the Action Center and blocks Defender from becoming active. You can create a value of type DWORD named HideActionCenter (under HKLMSoftwareWRData on 32bit or for 64bit HKLMSoftwareWow6432NodeWRData) set to '1' and reboot and it will prevent Webroot from adding into the Action Center to allow Defender to stay active. Note: This registry tweak will not work on Windows 10!
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY DETECTED
Hello, I am new to the forums however I keep getting this suspicious message whenever I turn my computer on, it is there. I am not sure what it means or if it is a real threat but I keep running scans and it is not finding any malware. Thank you to anyone who can be of assistance.
Why is my Mac user getting "Protection Disabled" when it is enabled?
We deployed webroot to our machines recently, and my Mac user's computer says "protection disabled" and the icon shows an exclamation point, despite the protections being enabled. You can even see in the screenshot that it scanned recently. What exactly is "disabled" that is causing it to alarm this to a user? MacOS Big Sur Public Beta
After installing the MacOS Big Sur Public Beta ok, I restarted and went back to Catalina, until I had some free time to do some beta testing. The first “Webroot Secure Anywhere” scan reported it had found a threat it called MacOS.Lazarus.l.r, at the following location./Volumes/MacBigSirBeta — Data/Library/Apple/System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRTIs this malware or a virus, or has the virus security S/W picked it up in error?I know there is a development too called Lazarus, and that the MRT app is Apple’s Malware Removal Tool, but wasn’t sure why Webroot flagged it as a threat.
I deleted by mistake all log files in WRData folder including its sub-folders (Pkg, Sync, wrUrl). :S From the nature of log files I don't think it should cause troubles but you never know and hence I rather ask. BTW, WSA including Backup&Sync and Password manager works fine. How it could happen, easily ... I created a custom rule in CCleaner and forgot to exclude WRData folder. :@ Thanks for your thoughts.
