I got a notification that SecureAnywhere is being discontinued and being replaced with Webroot Mobile Security, I went through the new installation process where it removes the old app and installs the new. I didn't remove the old app (even though its not there) I'm still getting secureanywhere notifications to upgrade to the new app when I already have it on my phone. So I uninstalled the new one, set the permission to secureanywhere off and I'm still getting secureanywhere notification with no webroot app on my andriod phone. I hate the new app and it crashes often, telling me that in a notifiaction. I totally hate the new interface and what little control I have on my phone now. How can I totally remove it from my phone I no longer want to run the mobile app. I want it completely gone off my phone. I will still run the desktop app one since I like the easy interface and both my PC's are protecte
I have used Webroot Secure Anywhere for almost 5 years. I paid for 3 computers and I was always very happy and renewed every year. Until now.Now, every time I turn on my computer a message pops up telling me to create a new “My Account”. So I tried. Several times. I cannot log into my account. It says “username or password is incorrect”. Well which is it? is it the username or the password? I am not a mind reader. You have to tell me what the problem is.So I try to reset my password -- and the nightmare begins. I cannot reset my password -- the email that they are supposed to send never arrives (have tried several times ... checked spam folder ... etc.). THE PASSWORD RESET EMAIL IS NEVER SENT!!!I submitted a ticket with support and 7 days ago they told me that they couldn’t help me online “for security reasons” and I had to call. So I called the phone number I was given. Several times. And every time I am on hold forever.I do not have unlimited time. I am not going to sit
Yes I have rebooted as the “help ticket” as suggested. Whenever I reboot my machine and I am fairly regular about that the pop up keeps coming up to sign up. I have and yet its still there. It doesn’t do this on my desktop only my laptop and will not go away unless I click it away. I will say that I created the account from my Desktop machine and the problem is on my laptop. It is very annoying and there should at least be an option to disable those sorts of things.
Hello! I bought a new laptop through BestBuy. With it, came 6 months of Webroot Antivirus. However, every time I try to activate it, it does not show up as an actual product. BestBuy couldn’t help me, so I decided to purchase Webroot on my own. However, when I tried to purchase WebRoot’s “Antivirus for gamers” using this link; Antivirus for PC Games Without Performance Impact | Webroot ; I was hit with a “cannot be processed” error which told me to try my purchase again. So I did. Again, same issue. However, my bank was charged for the original $29.99 cost. Why do I worry I am getting scammed while trying to buy a product promising to help me prevent scams? Please help me figure this out, as it is incredibly frustrating now having to wait for my claim with my bank to finish while still needing anti-virus software. I have been told WebRoot is the best, which is why I am here. But now I am having seconds thoughts.
I was a huge fan of Warzone and played it non stop until Vanguard came out but the new version of warzone was having major issues but Vanguard itself was fine. The biggest issue was the input lag. Took me longer than I want to admit that it turn out to be Webroot becasue it was fine once I unloaded the software. I have to admit I just disable it temporary when playing. Anyone experianced the same before I work out what I need to exclude?
On my Samsung S22, after install, I’m receiving the below error message. Whatever I try, I cannot get to the login screen.New account created, I do not have any other security app installed, no ads blocker app, etc.Please advise.“Information has not been verified yet”
I have been a satisfied Webroot user since 2014.I renewed my subscription last year for another 3 years.But now every time I turn on my pc I get a popup:“Your New Keycode Has Been Activated” WHY?? WHAT IS GOING ON? How do I stop the popups?Is there a phone # for customer service?My old keycode from 2014 still shows when I bring up my desktop console.I have been unable to reach customer service.I did finally finally google “webroot customer support phone number”, but the number is for a scammer who told me the popup was evidence my router had been compromised and I should install UltraViewer on my PC so he could remote in and clean things up. (I hung up.)
Webroot wants to make changes to windows at every boot of Windows 10. I have to click yes each time for Webroot to load. This is something new either from my update KB 5013887 or a change in Webroot code. Also, had another issue, but that is in a separate post after this update. Tries 3 times now and always get asked by Webroot to make changes, I don’t want to change my UAC settings because of this issue.
get an note important update available from secureanywhere. I click on continueit takes me to get the new app, i click on that shows webroot mobile security. I select open, then get the option to uninstall old app. I select that and say ok to unistall app, it doesn’t do anything just sits there
Hi,I noticed few days ago, that the “ADD PRODUCT KEYCODE”, in my consumer management console has been removed, but in the help menu still showing the same procedure for the mentioned button 🙄!!!Any ideas how to add a new keycode in the same console?Thank you all in advance!
Here’s the issue: I no longer use Webroot. I have a new provider. The reason you ask? In 2021 I paid for the Webroot protection through Best Buy. I went to the store and verified that fact. Every time I logged in on my desktop, I would see a reminder telling me I no longer had protection. I spoke to the Geek Squad and they wrote down a link for me to use. It didn’t work, so in 2022 I got a new provider. I uninstalled Webroot, but I still get reminders every day, sometimes more than one. I just want the reminders to stop. Any suggestions?Thank you for your time.Cheryl
Occasionally an ocx8 file is created in syswow64 folder. When that happens a database program I use loses some functionality. I have to rename the unwanted ocx8 file and re-register the correct ocx8 file with the program that uses it. Support at the program I use says webroot may be causing this issue -- it only happens occasionally. Can webroot create files or somehow cause files to be created that I don’t need that mess up my database program’s functionality? I’ve used webroot for several years and this problem started a couple of years ago--only happens occasionally, however. I’m not really conversant in the inner workings of my computer--just need the programs to run without too much hassle. Thanks for any input.
Hi everyone, I am trialing the most recent version of Webroot I S Complete and had a question about the Secure Erase feature. I noticed when I put it on 3 or even 7 (max # of overwrite) Webroot seems almost waaay too quick to shred the file. I noticed this especially on say files around 1gb in size (even video) If talking specifically about the max overwrite of 7 passes, is this normal for it to be so quick?? I’ve had a few other file shredders that I sometimes use too, and if I chose either 3 to 7 wipes they take significantly longer (maybe minute or two) Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if I need to put a support ticket in? I have Webroot Secure Anywhere installed on my Android phone (Samsung A30S). When I access the app, it tells me the current version is being retired and I need upgrade to Webroot Mobile Security. Offers a Keycode and a link to the app store. However, when I click on the link, it says "This item is not available in your country". I am in Spain and I tried a VPN to the UK and the USA, but still get the same report. Please can you help me with this?
Hello there 🙂 I am trialing Webroot I S Complete again--I was a past user and really liked it a few years ago and coming round to possibly getting it again. I recently read Neil Rubinking’s in depth review of Webroot and he mentioned the firewall wasn’t working at that point in time, which seemed pretty concerning to me. Just wondered if users were ever notified/aware of this issue during that time? And also, if it has been fixed? Thank you for your past helpful hints on this forum and for reading my question. I know I have discussed this before, but I am still seeing this behavior, I still think it is a bug, but it makes the tool annoying because IMO it is always crying wolf. A scan just completed and it was “green.” Another scan started almost immediately, and everything orange immediately to start (as seen below.) Even after a green scan just finished, the color of Webroot app was, and is still, and is almost always orange. This makes no sense to me. What actually is going on here and what is the app actually trying to indicate here going orange after a green scan? The results tab was also empty FYI.Then, after the scan shown below detected no threats, everything went back to green, until the next scan started, and then orange again. But it does not always do this, just most of the time.So why is it orange immediately after a green scan? That makes no sense, and causes me to “run and check it” when I really do not have to. But how would I know if it is a false orange or a real threat?
