Hi everyone, first post in a long while, which means everything has been running smoothly ;) I recently manually added Microsoft Edge as a Protected Application within Identity Protection. I get the yellow padlock in the Taskbar and can navigate to websites and type into text fields as normal. However, I cannot type alphanumeric characters into the Start Page or the Address Bar, but I can type basic punctuation keystrokes; .?/=" etc. Is this because Edge compatability is still only half-baked? Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just me?
When uninstalling WSA from a Mac computer, WSA leaves a lot behind. Could the uninstaller for Mac's be made to uninstall what is left behind? After uninstalling WSA on my Mac running High Sierra this is left behind:
My wife's phone is one of the devices protected by my subscription. She's currently out travelling while she has changed mobile network provider. Today, she changed the sim card in her phone, at which point the sim card lock (which I wasn't aware of) kicked in. The problem is that when she tries to enter the password to unlock the phone, no keyboard shows up. it's an unmodified nexus 5. Could you please advice me how to help her unlock the phone? She's on a trip with and she really needs the phone.

Did anyone else get this message that Firefox has disabled the Webroot filtering extension because it is unverfieid? Has anyone else experienced this. Just happened today but I've had Webroot for a couple of months.
Hello! New Webroot SecureAnywhere user here. I recently started at a company that uses this software however I have no experience with it. Dumb question, but we are troubleshooting some software issues on a PC that has Webroot SecureAnywhere installed on it. I have access to the Admin console but am unable to disable the software locally. How do I disable this software on a single PC for testing purposes?
Hi! On my job laptop i'm constantly getting high CPU usage, somewhat crippling the machine and keeping the fans busy. This goes on for 24/7 no matter if I restart. Any idea how to fix it? Hi. We have recently seen a number of individuals running W10 build 1709 and WSA 18.104.22.168. File shares have become unusable, resulting in a "folder path not found" error in other W10 clients and even from the host PC itself. In all cases, we have found that the host PC can see its own shares, but gets that error when opening them. Other clients get that message when trying to connect to the host, before listing the shares. All of the affected were being managed by the workstation policy with Identity Shield enabled. We have found that after uninstalling the WR client from the portal, and restarting the host PC, that all sharing/access issues are resolved. As yet, we have not reinstalled WRSA on any of the affected machines and all of the affected are being managed by an alternative AV until we can identify what is causing this.
With Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Complete... is Malwarebytes Anti Exploit recommended for PREVENTION of Exploits and Zero Day Attacks ??? Thank you in advance for a prompt and detailed response. ~ Alan
Hello, I had year subscription when I bought my new laptop. Now my subscription is expiring tomorrow. I got a message telling me. In this message, it says I should renew through Geek Squad and directs me to a site to renew asking for my cedit card. It has my name on the page, It seems legit. But the web page is not secure, or so it seems. Site info indicates it is not fully secure page. How can a securiy product ask me to input my financial info on a web page that isnt secure? I do not remember if I got my original security through Geek Squad. Is this pop up message legitimate? What will happen if my security isnt renewed tomorrow? How can I make sure I am doing this correctly. Can anyone please give me some direction .... I greatly appreciate any help. I'm not tech savvy at all. Thank you in advance.
WebRoot on my Mac just popped up that a file “/Library/Google/…./GoogleSoftwareUpdateAgent” has the threat “MacOS.MacRansomEvilQuest.1.r” It quarantined correctly, but…. what’s going on… is this a bad file, or does WebRoot have a mistake, or is Google pushing ransomware?
I typed this out once and got an error, so I'm going to keep it brief and informative. I was playing Killing Floor 2 through Steam, using TeamSpeak, and streaming to YouTube through OBS. Mid game, I had a threat pop up for the dnsapi.dll. I quarantined and removed it (C:WindowsSystem32 and another amd64_windows-dns-client spot). When I restarted, I had no internet, and couldn't open Teamspeak or anything because of the missing DLL. I went into safe mode, restored in using a cmd prompt and "sfc /scannow". It restored the files, but another virus scan immediately afterwards showed them as threats again. I didn't find anything weird in the registry and no host IPs were found connecting to me in the Drivers/etc/hosts.txt. Is this a false postive? Or do I have a real intrusion?
Anyone else's Labtech plugin been broken since the 3.0 update? When we updated the plugin from 2.5 to 3.0, the plugin dashboard showed most agents as "non-GSM" and lacked information for them. After 3 months working with support on the issue, we're still nowhere, and can't reliably monitor our ~5,000 agents.
Finally installed WSA IS literally 5 minutes ago. I've been using Avast Free. The first thing I noticed is that opening a browser is probably twice as fast with WSA installed vs. Avast Free. It was amazingly fast. Is there a tutorial or a webpage for recommendations for "getting to know WSA"? Links or suggested sections within the forums? Lastly, since I use Sandboxie to sandbox any and all browsers at all times, should I disable the webshield protection? I look forward to getting to know some of you and learning all I can about WSA.
I installed the mobile app on my ipod touch and new ipad3. The little key with the red x for login does not ever ever let me login. I installed this on my ipod months ago and got so frustrated trying to login i deleted the app. I figued it was meant for ipad tyoe device. still i cannot log in. i can go to my desktop pc and login just fine, what gives? thanks
Xoom Wifi. Webroot always worked normally. Since a while Webroot scans normally just up to sdcard, then it freezes, then after some time it crashes. I removed the external sdcard to see if that caused it but that didn't make difference. Obviously i can't remove the internal memory.
I was thinking about trying WSA on my Laptop again. The last time my Laptop would not boot anymore. It would freeze right after Windows login. Since my Laptop may not boot anymore I was wondering if WSA Logs utility will run in safe mode. Safe mode disables Windows installer so I was thinking it probably wouldn't, but maybe some portable application would run. So, will WSA Utility run in Safe Mode?
1) When I first tried to install webroot I had nothing other than windows firewall and maybe an out of date (by 800+ days) copy of malwarebytes (I can't remember if I installed it before or after webroot) protecting my PC. Webroot froze up instead of installing and that left my PC vulnerable for around 3 minutes while I tried to be patient with the install. So, I restarted my PC and tried to install it again. This time it installed just fine for some reason. I had just got done loading my OS from scratch, so it should have been clean. Should I go ahead and reload my OS now to make sure nothing got on my PC while it was unprotected? I would rather go ahead and do that now rather than wait if I do need to. I don't know why it wouldn't install the first time. 2) It keeps asking me to block some program, I think it's the same program every time but I'm not sure. I've found no way to access a list of programs that have been blocked. The following is what I recorded one time when this happen
I did a clean install of WSAC on my Win XP computer. I have backup already established in my account. Tried to login to backup on clean install and I get login failure. I tried with IE-8 and FF as default browsers, both failed. Looked in WRData File: "Sync Folder" with the following error: ERROR: "CSessionObject::Authenticate: Backend authorization for user failed (region 200, error 12152)" and "WARNING: ServiceRequest_SetCredentials: Error returned by service (12152)." When I try to login WSA starts "Performing Credential Validation to Establish Connection" then hangs at 99% for approx 20 seconds then fails to login. I only use backup on the XP computer. (I have no problem logging into my Webroot Account Console) Is it time to Send a Support Ticket & Logs or is there a problem on Webroots end? ;)
Hi, I started a ticket with Malwarebytes (stupid me forgot to check here first). They have me running Combofix which requires my AV to be shut down. WRA doesn't seem to shut down. How can I go about doing so. And I cannot get Combofix to shut down either (I tried X-ing out but it pushed on ahead stating it will go ahead and run "at my own risk!" I'd started the ticket there because my computer has been running sluggish but MBAM and WRA don't detect anything. I've worked with tech support on a previous computer and went there first (again, stupid me, forgetting the tech support here). They walked me through several steps and now we're looking at ComboFix. When I open Web Console, I notice that an infection popped up yesterday LPPLUGIN.DLL with W32.InfoStealer.Zeus (probably during this process). Now when I click on support from my computer, I get sent to a blank browser page. Help. If I try to open a support ticket, I'm asked for e-mail address
I was wondering if anyone could offer a solution to this because I quite like the software otherwise. Since switching to Webroot ISP yesterday, I've started to experience a strange problem with the screen going blank (completely black i.e. monitor off) and then coming back on. It only lasts for about a second and does not affect any other processes while it is happening. Once today it went blank without coming back on again and the monitor went into standby mode which would suggest it is cutting the signal to it completely. It only seems to happen when the program is actively doing something, for example when I open up a new web page. It will also black out the screen without fail just after starting up as the pop-up box at the bottom right is fading. I am running Windows XP Pro 2002 SP3. Any suggestions?
My XP Pro computer continuously sends me the message above and the dialogue invites me to send an error report to Microsoft which I have done many times. I suspect some kind of damage to the program itself or to its data file or some unknown system problem. I have run Memtest86+ RAM tests and CHKDSK scans which found no problems with the hardware. I have tried to uninstall web root and am unable to do so. It insists that I login as Administrator, which I do and it does not recognize that Administrator is the user logged in. I had hoped to uninstall and reinstall web root with the hope that this might fix it. I also cannot reinstall from the wsainstall application. When I double-click on it in Explorer, nothing happens. As far as I know, I have the latest version that autoupdates The web root icon does not appear in the system tray so I am unable to right-click on it to turn it off. Does snyone have any suggestions on what to try next? Why am I told th
Prompted by this idea to automatically sync PDF files, Webroot is investigating the possibility of adding additional file types to the default options presented on the Backup & Sync setup screen. Currently, the default file types are as follows: By selecting "Custom filter," a Backup & Sync user can already manually add any file type or create a *.* filter to sync all file types. However, for convenience, Webroot presents Backup & Sync users with commonly used default options for file types. There are likely many other commonly used file types that would fit into these categories which Webroot does not currently automatically sync. The "PDF" idea will result in a new file type - *.pdf - being added to the Document files list. As long as w
