See pic of company GameSir's list of permissions. They advertise access to thousands of games when you buy their Android game controller but they dont advertise that you have to give their app permission to basically be a virus for access to all their best game features. How is this legal? Consumer Affairs time? See pic
About once a day my Webroot tray icon displays an exclaimation point. Upon opening the program, the red "Threats Detected" screen is displayed, listing Active threats = 1 (sometimes more). *However* If I initiate a scan, it says no threats were found! Also, a review of the Quarantine log does not show any recent entries. After the scan the main screen is green again, and no threats are indicated. What gives?? Why is this happening, and where can I look to see what is triggering Webroot to tell me that Threats are Detected???

This was installed onto my laptop without my authorization. I do not know how it was installed. This is a personal PC. When I go to uninstall it it says it is centrally managed and I must go through the portal to remove it. I do not have access to this because I did not install it. What do I do? Thank you, Dr. Stephen Hoemke
I am trying to log into the webroot console to manage my license. My login is correct. My password is correct. It asks me for the authentication code (it simply says “enter authentication code” so I enter the entire code I created.) I get an error message that says “Invalid Authentication Code” I have gone back and chosen the “Forgotten Password” link and gone through all those steps successfully. Even with the new code, I get the same “Invalid Authentication Code” message. I have my license through Best Buy. I spent an hour on the telephone with Best Buy and they have no idea why this is happening except they suspect it is a WebRoot issue. I cannot get to live Webroot support, so I am trying this.
I went to Best Buy yesterday to get my Mac fixed. I bought the Web Reboot Secure Anywhere and the lady helping began the process after typing in the code. She said I was free to go and the computer would take awhile to scan. However, the application has been saying "Scanning for viruses and Malware" and "Preparing to Scan" for over 24 hours and nothing is happening. What should my next step be?
User Account Control pops up a message every time the PC starts asking if I want to allow Webroot SecureAnywhere to make changes to the computer. Following suggestions posted here, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. The program at first refused to uninstall, although Webroot online said it was uninstalled. I tried uninstalling using both the Webroot program link and Windows 7 programs and features. I also ran CleanWDF more than once. The only thing that prevented the popup was manually deleting WRSA.exe. However, after reinstalling, the popup is back. What can be done about this nuisance? Thank you.
Imagine my surprise when I saw the figures shown below for guests present at the Communitty!! I thought there must be some really big story afoot....or had TH just won the lottery or what!!! :D The figures shown are by clicking two different pages...and apparently giving three very different results, rapidly decreasing :S Anyway, could be something with browser graphics perhaps (Pale Moon) as I have been sometimes seeing a sort of pixellated graphics thing. Any opinions on this please, very strange to see :S
This problem on a Mac Pro, OSX ver. 10.11.6 when I logged in i got a pop-up saying, "a problem with the installation has been detected. Please re-install the application". When I enter my 20 character code, click "Agree and Install" I get another message stating "An error has occured while attempting in instal SecureAnywhere". and "Failed to get latest version" When I go to the console no scan is showing, clicking certain buttons causes the programto crash sending me back to to the pop-up above asking me to re-install SecureAnywhere. any ideas?
Hello, First, I want to mention a, Thank You, to Baldrick and others who helped me get rid of annoying popups. I haven't had trouble with popups since early January, so that is great, thank you so much!! Secondly, there is a new issue. When I wake my computer up in the morning I go straight to Webroot and run a scan everything is good. Last infection was 3/19 and was resolved. When I go onto Chrome I get the Suspicious Attack Ahead message from Webroot, with the choices of Get me out of here or Tell me more about it. I haven't even gone to a site yet. just gone to Chrome. When I check the Tell me more about it, it doesn't give me any information. So, I run another scan, and nothing show up. So, then I go back to Chrome and the Suspicious attack message doesn't usually come up again, until the next morning. Why am I getting the message, but then not able to get any information on what the issue is? If the scans are coming up clean, why am I even the message? Thank y
I keep getting told that I have this backdoor trojan. It will be removed and then found again. I am confident that it is not in my system. The services that must be stopped in order to remove it are not present. Is this a known issue? I cna find info about it on other malware removal sites, but not with Webroot. If I get continual false positives, I will not continue to use or recommend this product. I have run clean scans with several other providers. I am running on OS X Mountain Lion.
See YOUTUBE https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q8xz8xKEFvU. It seems that the top 10 flashlight apps are all malware that access your contacts and other sensitive data on cell phones. Does anyone know if the "Nightflash" program is safe?
The official newest password manager extension (3.1.1) in Firefox is Not Happy™. Like not-operational for all intents and purposes. This can be fixed temporarily by using the "Toolbarfix.exe" tool, which installs an OLDER version of the extension that actually works. Very temporarily. As soon as Webroot notices it's old, it updates it. So when will this be fixed with a permanent fix?
