Questions About a Webroot Product? Start Here!
I have to use Metasploit for a class I am taking on Cybersecurity, is there a way to exclude Metasploit and its framework from webroot? I checked all the ALLOW options I could find, it still flags them as bad. It is SecureAnywhere CE 22.3. Appreciate suggestions to get these resolved.
I was looking in the Event Viewer and I saw a twistee labeled Audit Failure. I didn’t remember seeing that one before, so I opened it up and it appears to be referencing a Webroot file.Code integrity determined that the image hash of a file is not valid. The file could be corrupt due to unauthorized modification or the invalid hash could indicate a potential disk device error.File Name: \Device\HarddiskVolume5\ProgramData\WRData\e30968e.dat So what does this mean? Is it a concern?I’m not sure what HardiskVolume5 is. I presume this the C drive. But the curious thing is I don’t find a file named e30968e.dat under the ProgramData\WRData folder.Thanks
I received an e-mail to a rarely used account from Sophoss with an embedded image of an invoice stating they received my “online” payment along with a phone number. I called they claimed they received payment by check, het nothing showed in my accounts supposedly from for antivirus subscription? I also rec'd an email from myself stating my WebRoot subscription renewal will be $374.00 and had Geek Squad logo, etc. When I called BB GS they had no knowledge of what I was talking about. I presumed the GS e-mail was a scam as it did not have my new key code. WebRoot CS suggested I contact BB GS specifically for WedRoot support. Given they did not ask for any account or credit card info. and nothing has hit my accounts or credit cards, I cannot take any more action. Appreciate any feedback.
I have another account, (Snip) Ever since y’all included Carbonite, I have had nothing but issues with my passwords and my dashboard. NOW I am LOCKED out of my Webroot and can’t get in there. It even changed my password to the community board. I have tried the “Forgot Password” a few times and now it doesn’t even respond, probably thinking I’m someone else trying to hack into my account. How can I fix this PLEASE? (Snip) Removed private email. Please do not post private information on an open forum. PTD
I had some problems with my laptop and reinstalled Windows 11 to factory settings a few times and reinstalled Webroot Anywhere. Now, the Security Summary shows that Webroot is protecting 3 devices but it’s the same laptop.Is there a way to remove two of them to show that there is only one device protected? Also, I might want to install Webroot on two more PCs, Will I still able to do that, even though the Security Summary shows that 3 devices are protected. I have the Webroot SecureAnywhere Internet Security Plus for 3 devices.
I just purchased an HP AMD Ryzen 3, and along with it, Webroot internet security w/ antivirus protection. When I try to download the software, I'm prompted to switch out of S mode (which I won't be able to return to), or find a similar app in the store. How do I correctly download the software I purchased without messing up my brand new computer?
Even though I have an account with this e-mail and it works fine on the laptop, and it's 1 year 3 devices the app won't let me in it shows this. I've tried everything I could find. I even tried to contact by e-mail for help and still haven't heard back. If this can't be fixed I'm returning it.
Some of our endusers (not all) are experiencing problem with the Webroot Web Threat Shield extension in Microsoft Edge (the new Chromium based version). They get a request to enter the keycode. That should not happen, as the environment is fully managed by us as MSP. Is this a known bug?
Has anyone else received an email from Best Buy/Geek Squad stating that their WebRoot anti-virus software will automatically be credited? I tried to get a response from BestBuy, but their online tech named Kasey said it was a scam and that I would need to pay the full $49.99, and not the $29.99 stated in the email. I was a bit disappointed in their reply. I realize that WebRoot is not BestBuy or the Geek Squad, but WebRoot has partnered with them so hopefully someone from WebRoot or a user in the community can respond to my question and concern. Has anyone else received this type of email and did your subscription renew automatically? Thank you. PS: If someone from WebRoot would like to see the original email, I would be glad to forward to your security department.
After a win 10 major upgrade, I can bring up the WSA dialog box but I can’t access any of the settings - like scheduling a scan. WSA isn’t listed in my list of apps. I can’t see it listed via the control panel program list. I can see the .exe in my Programs Folder but not in Programs (x86). I can’t find any way to unistall that .exe safely - I don’t want to just delete the file.I’ve had a service request in place since 7-27-22 with no reply. I put in another one asking for at least a recognition of my request on the 29th - I just read that will put me to the end of queue - bummer.Is there some problem with service that I got no response for 2 days?
