This morning, Webroot Secureanywhere did not start. OnlineArmor asked if I wanted to allow a program with a name similar to "WRupdate347369.exe" to execute out of the temp folder. It identified itself as a Webroot program but the numbers seemed strange and executing out of the temp folder concerned me. I NEEDED to log in for a webinar so execution was blocked and Secureanywhere had to be manually started. The executable did not appear again. Was this a legitimate WR update? If so, how can it be verified before allowing it to execute? (Comment: It has been advised by other applications (JAVA & Adobe are the most notorious) not to allow automatic updates to execute but rather go to the website and get the update directly.)

I have a question about the security capabilities of Webroot Mobile. Example: I'm sitting in a public area using my iPhone and all is well it seems. However, there is someone sitting a few feet away attempting to hack into my iPhone via Wifi and access my private information stored on the phone. Does Webroot Mobile help protect my iPhone from this type of attack? Does it allow me to encrypt that private information? Thanks!
Hello, I've installed my licensed Webrotte SecureAnywhere on my new Galaxy Note 10.1. Now the device is locked for good by WebRoot and I just can't get anywhere ... changing password on the my.webrootanywhere.com doesn't help at all ... I'm stuck with the 10.1 device. Even a device reset is not allowed ... Samsung Galaxy S III where I've got a copy of the same WebRoot running works fine ... Any help on this would be greatly appreciated ;o) Thanks Kimi
Okay so I love this antivirus, my job is selling computers and I am always recommending webroot, but, there is this webroot icon that appears on my desktop every time i turn my computer on. I drag it to the recycling bin and then next time I reboot it's right back up there again. I need to have my desktop organized and clutter free so I need this dang thing off of there. I have the little icon down in the lower right hand corner of my taskbar. So why the big bulky icon? I cannot seem to find any option in the settings to rid myself of it nor can I find the answer to this on google. HELP!! :/
When I try to view the freeroms.com website in my web browser on my Samsung SPH-D700, SecureAnywhere Mobile prompts me with a page blocker. When I tell it to "Never Block This Site", it reloads the page and prompts me again. Anybody know why it does this, because it does it with other sites. *Link edited out by Moderator because it may be malicious.*
So i just got this laptop unistalled Crapaffey that was pre loaded and installed Webroot. My problem is it is seeing some the drivers as viruses and wants to remove them. If I let it remove the files my laptop wont boot up into windows 8 which is pre loaded.... Is there a way I can tell Webroot to ignore these files I just want a good AV and have no issues on my desktop with windows 8.
I bought the webroot anywhere complete package, so I could have the best protection on my pc , phone, and tablet. Pretty much after a few days things are not working any more. I shouldn't have to uninstall and reinstall the suite. Still no support for google chrome, I.E. will not open more than 3 tabs sometimes (not often) it will open four with the webroot toolbar. Most the time after three tabs are open and I open a fourth the webroot tool bar is not even on that tab, so the logging in does not work. Back up and sync does not work yet. It went all screwy on my phone, I open it up one day to find for what ever reason all the protection settings had turned themselves off, and I had to manually turn them all on again. The migration of the back up data should not have left it broken, it should not have been set until it was up and running right, maybe a window of a few hours between moving files and it should have been running. I paid $80 bucks now for a security suite that has continual
Am now an ex-Essentials user who is in limbo between Internet Security Plus & Complete. My auto renewal proposal is Complete for 1 year for 5 PCs, for £49.99, with no option to either reduce the number of PCs in the license or what will be effectively to stay with Essentials, ie, renew to an Internet Security PLus license for 3 PCs. Can anyone advise what I can do to get what I want, ie, Internet Security Plus for 3 PCs rather than Complete for 5 PCs? Thanks in advance. Balders
Hi, I have a question relating to platforms such as Java where its programs are run from within a virtual machine. How would WSA detect any malware in this sort of configuration? Presumably the java executable itself is a permitted application; I'm assuming this doesn't override the normal monitoring/firewall blocking etc that WSA would perform? Ta.
I have my scan schedule set to scan daily before noon when the computer is idle. I turn the computer on about 8AM everyday, and leave while I'm doing other things around the house. When I get on the computer around 11AM it still has not performed a scan. I usually 'wake' up the computer by moving the mouse. ( I just have the screen saver go blank after 10 minutes and the monitor turn off after 15 minutes of inactivity, but leave the HDD and System Standby running). It was performing the scan after I woke it up, but lately it doesn't and I run it manually. Does the monitor and screen saver turning off cause it not to perform the scheduled scan?
hi, i have webroot on phone and working well, thanks. was thinking of purchasing for pc but i dont understand why 1-3 year 5 devices, i want to purchase a year maybe 2 but dont have 5 devices only 2 and 1 is running fine with free version on phone, so why dont you do say 1 - 3 - 5 devices charged accordingly. i dont see point of 5 devices and 4 not ever used, or have i not looked properly. cheers Andy
NOD32 and OA are being replaced with Norton 360 Premier. What is the proper method to install Norton on a Win7x64 system? (Added: Norton is not being placed on my system, I regretted doing so over a decade ago and additional research showed I would regret it again. Currently, only Webroot Secureanywhere Antivirus is installed.) Webroot can be initially disabled but a reboot caused an upgrade of ESET to go really, really, bad. I would like to avoid this problem on the Win7 system. The community is being asked because supports final answer was; "the Webroot software you own from us is a full antivirus suite meaning that is all you need, so you do not need to antivirus applications." (edited to indicate change of mind)
I just want to info the members here on Webroots Community Forum about a possible "Bug" with WSA and MBAM. Every once in a while the Update Button is grayed out on MBAM. This has been seen using Windows XP only. There is a Post started on Wilders Security Forum about this: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=334749 There are also other Posts about this on the MBAM Forum. Yesterday I sent in a Support Ticket and Logs using Webroot's log-gathering utility.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Complete repeatedly, changed default email address, have reset password many times, tried logging in many times, have tried wifi and 3G. Have been trying off and on for months to resolve this. Help would be appreciated! Thank you
Hi, By chance, I've just noticed a strange file which has been allowed firewall access in my Network Applicaions list in Secure Anywhere (126.96.36.199). It's called sd7sfnzj.exe.part, which was apparently in my %TEMP% folder. This looks suspiciously like malware to me. I realise that .part files are Firefox download files, but I don't normally used Firefox's own download manager, and I wouldn't expect it to be executing .part files anyway. The file is no longer present, and I can't find any reference to it if I save and examine a scan log. I've run a few checks with various AV tools, none of which reported anything. Webroot did block a couple of websites yesterday when I searched for thunderbird in Google - it was complaining about some sites at rediff.com. Could this be the source of the trouble? Can you shed any light on why there is seemingly no log of this .part file having been examined by Webroot, but it is an allowed network application? Does this mean that it was blocked
Hi team, I hope you can clarify the new version, I have just opened it from a different computer on the web, all the folders I can see are: Anywhere and Back-up, I understand Anywhere is the same as the Suitcase but there is no Web Archive?
I thought that SecureWeb Browser (SWB) functions more less in the same way how WSA protects the supported browsers on PCs. I mean for instance having the checkmarks in Google search, blocking the bad rated webpages (tested on ...tube where while I've got a warning on PC I've got nothing on Android and the page loads) etc. It looks like that none of the said features are presented in SWB. Therefore can you shed more light or am I missing something? Thanks & regards, pegas
So I have Webroot and it's doing a very nice job. I really do love it. However, I'm using Chrome. As you may know, Webroot does not work with Chrome very well (as opposed to it's built in IE tools). As a result, I am running the Chrome extension AdBlock to prevent mostly harmful advertisements and popups. It's a real shame because I love to support my fellow web developers, but in today's day and age where there have been reports of viruses inside of advertisements, we need to be careful. I remember one of the ratemyprofessor, or ratemyteacher, something like that website, as well as others, had flash ads that were managed by a third party company who let through ads that ran viruses through the system. Given how insecure Flash is, and the possible exploitation it can give hackers, it's very scary. I was actually infected this way which is why I got AdBlock. Now given this was before I had Webroot... but luckily I removed the virus, as much of a pain in the ass as it was! But
I deactivated my computer from the webroot online console and now cannot get it back on there, wondering if anyone could help me out? I also cannot get the toolbar working even after doing the repair install/download. I used to have a subscription to security essentials and both that account and my new account are showing up in the online console wondering if that may have something to do with it as they both were purchased using the same email address? If so, how can I remove my old account with the expired keycode? Thank You very much for your time!
