Webroot failed to update its threat definition. This likely means your device doesn't currently have internet access. You can continue your scan with the current definition set or cancel. Error: OutOfMemoryError processing def update. Continue or Cancel. Also, DEFINITION UPDATE FAILED. Network error attempting to access the Webroot servers. Please ensure your device is connected to the Internet. Also, Webroot Secure Anywhere Mobile Premier (process com.webroot.securing full) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. DEFINITION SET 330. Version 188.8.131.5259. Is somebody know what to do??? The HELP recommended to post on FORUM to get E-mail from MODERATOR to send collected system data from phone for tech support. Or may be it would be solved by itself??? For example, via updates?? But how come, the updates fail to be installed?
After installing WSA Complete, my “remembered” website login settings (user and password) are no longer visible or active in IE7 or Chrome. I understood that the Identify Shield controls these, so I unchecked the shield setting, “Prevent programs from accessing protected credentials." This did not help. I also changed the “Protected Applications” setting for IE7 from “Protect” to “Allow.” Still, my login settings are missing and must be entered manually. I am interested in eventually going to Password Management, but want to restore this password convenience temporarily. Can anyone help? What am I missing?
Hello, I am also having an issue with the Secure Anywhere Complete edition. It will not allow me to login and says that my email or password is not correct. I know that I am putting it in correctly, as well as the keycode. I have installed the regular versions on my devices because I couldn't get the Complete to work, and my devices show up in my account after I login, but for some reason the Complete will not accept my creds. I have changed the password so many times trying to get it to work. I really like this product and the best feature is the cross-device compatibility. Can someone help me out here? Keep in mind that I can login to everything else just fine, but it does seem to want one password on my PC for the sync login and a different one on the web portal. At any rate, I can at least figure that out. Please help. Thank you.
I am trying the Endpoint product, and already had bought the Complete product. The endpoint version seems very similar, and same UI etc. So can I expect roughly the same functioning and issues compared with Complete? For example I could not paste a password into a VPN connection (nothing happened, while in notepad it was pasted). And I could not copy a value manually inserted in a login dialog (the clipboard remained unaltered). I know about identity protection>protected applications, and have set all entries there to allow. These are examples, the main question is how similar are the 2 products? (except getting the data/info/protection out of the cloud, I understand that difference)
I have been using Webroot anti virus for a couple of years now. My subscription is getting ready to expire. I'm debating whether to upgrade to Essentials. I was interested in the phishing attack, firewall and deleting unrecoverable files features. I'm unfamiliar with the backup and sync features since I am using only one computer and back up my files with external and flash drives. Other than those features I mentioned would it be worth getting over the regular anti-virus? Are there any other reasons as to why I should upgrade? Is it as easy to use as the regular anti virus and more secure?
Hi all, I recently got the reveton virus having visited an infected site (my daughter's dance studio!). We just visited the site, and didn't knowingly download anything. Now installed, I cannot shake it. Does anyone have any advice? I'm running secure anywhere, 2012. I've scanned several times, but each time I start a browswer, webroot finds more things wrong. Any tips? BTW, I believe it is delivered via the Citadel Trojan malware (http://www.darkreading.com/authentication/167901072/security/application-security/240005485/airport-vpn-targeted-by-citadel-trojan.html). Thanks, JD.
Hi, I am currently conducting a trial of Webroot installed at a remote office in Malaysia, from Australia. Yesterday I received an email that one of the PC's there had been "Attacked", and checking the console this morning I see the message : Alert 1 Endpoint needs attention We recommend you check whether this endpoint has automatic remediation enabled on the assigned policy. The endpoint shows as "Infected" by Malware called "W32.Rogue.32". The PC was last seen yesterday afternoon, a few minutes after the Malware was detected. There is no clean scan recorded. My question is : How do I know what action was taken by Webroot, or do I have to assume the file was quarantined ? There does not seem to be any way to see a log of the actions performed either successfully or not. I find the message "Infected" rather alarming as it implies there is still an infection ..... Thanks
I installed webroot on a computer that I was giving to a friend to see if it had any viruses (the virus protection that was installed was out of date) but I just uninstalled it on that computer how do I remove it from the list of PC's that are protected when you login to your Webroot account? Its still saying its protected. Thanks!
It's not very accurate in its analysis of my system, and the "complete report" doesn't tell which "Important updates" my system is missing. That's not much help at all, in fact it's very disappointing and on my system at least appears to be inaccurate. I run Windows Update manually, and I keep the BITS and "Automatic Updates" services disabled since I discovered years ago that Microsoft was applying updates to my system even though I had told it "Notify me but don't automatically download or install them". However, before running WSA, I enabled BITS and the AU service. Even so, Webroot's "complete report" says: Windows Updates ---------------------------------------------------------------- Auto Update State Disabled Update Type Auto-Updates Disabled Last Update Check Never Last Update Download Never Last Update Install Never (90 days ago) Next Scheduled Update Check 2009-06-11 01:29:29 Next Scheduled Install Time Never but in fact I ran W.U. earlier today and rebo
So I was doing a tune up on a PC and I was told it had some viruses on it and it was very laggy. I installed free Sophos Virus Removal Tool just to see what was going on before I installed Webroot in case there was stuff that the free tool couldn't remove. I did the scan, and sure enough it had like 11 assorted trojans and malware. It took it all off but one. It was labeled "troj-Psyme-DT" so I installed Webroot, but it found NOTHING. I scanned with both of them like 3 times and both had the same result. So I found where exactly the trojan was located; in a folder on Symantec Antivirus that I just recently uninstalled. (Ironic huh?) Can I just delete the folder C:Program FilesSymantec Antivirus since I no longer have the program to get rid of the trojan? Also, the PC its on has Windows XP with service pack 3 if that helps. Thanks!
I had to reset some things on my phone and was hoping to just download the Secure Anywhere Complete software like I did before and simply enter my email and password and keycode and be on my way but now it says my keycode is not associated with me any more. Any help I can get is greatly appreciated
Is anyone else having this problem or know a solution? I can only access Facebook (I use an HTTPS connection to it) if the Facebook Social Network Protection is turned off to none. Obviously, I don't want to roam Facebook with no protection, so this isn't a good thing. Has anyone had this problem and know what a work around could be? Any chance that it's the HTTPS access to FB that's causing a conflict? Thanks!
Webroot secure anywhere did not detect 3 trojans in the sun java cache folder which norton 360 6.0 picked up, I was suspicious something was going on that webroot secure anywhere did not pick up so I installed norton 360 after uninstalling webroot. Webroot deep scan did not find it either. On another note I was wondering if webroot secure anywhere protects against ddos attacks? Thanks
Does Webroot fully support the Opera and Chrome browsers? I have noticed that search results, say from google, do not contain the check or X marks that show up in IE. I have noticed in Chrome, results are encrypted with a https: connections, but Opera is http:. No security icons appear on either browser, though.
HI, I am new to webroot. I am also not very clued up re technical information. I can get by usually downloading and using the internet etc but quite ignorant really:@ I have webroot complete installed on laptop and pc, and it works very well. I am really pleased with it. However, I am trying to install it on my Samsung S11. My notifications say that it is downloaded, but I can't find it anywhere on my phone, and also though I logged in to my account at no time during the instal was I asked for any code. I have checked my webroot account on my pc and the phone is not listed. I have tried twice now, but just keep getting directed to the google play site and go through all the same screens, but still can't seem to add my phone to my account or see where webroot is stored. Can anyone help with a very simple step by step guide or tell me where I am going wrong. I think I have the free version installed somewhere on my phone ....but not sure. By the way I am completely new to this fo
I have problems when filling in username and password after pushing the webroot button in the IE 7/8/9 and firefox 12> menu bar. It says invalid password and try again. Both is 100% ok because I am able to logon when opening the address: my.webroot...... What is it? **Moved post out of similar thread that had been closed for 3 months and created new topic. - admin
Windows 7 x64 Home Premium SP1 I have WSA AV running along side of MSE with no issues, but I want to make sure everything is set up properly. I excluded the Webroot folder and WRSA.exe in MSE, and in WSA, I turned the self protection to minimum. Are there any other changes I should make? Thanks in advance!
Hello, I am a new user here, so please forgive me if this is in the wrong section. I am using WSA complete 2012 latest version (184.108.40.206) I was wondering if anyone has experience poor performance issues while using Google Chrome with WSA Identity Shield HTTP setting at the highest level security. The problem: The issue I am having with having the HTTP setting at the most secure, is that Google Chrome ends up using all of the threads and CPU cycles to the point where it becomes completely unresponsive. Also, this event is escalated when browsing a flash intensive website such as YouTube. Everytime I run "scan my computer" using the webroot secureanywhere complete I get "4" threats removed (see image). How can I find out which "threats" were removed. I have saved the scan log. Can somebody help me? Thanks!!
I've become a recent user of Webroot Security Essentials 2012, coming across from Microsoft Security Essentials. Things have been going well, but I've not a significant slowdown in browsing in Chrome and CPU usage in Chrome. As a result, I'm unable to watch videos on You Tube? If I stop Webroot, or use IE, there's no such problem. Does anyone else experience this, or know how it can be resolved? I've tried disabling all the 'Web Threat Shield' options, but that didn't help, so am guessing it's something to do with Chrome itself, rather than browsing?
Thus far filing tickets hasn't been very helpful (sorry Webroot, no offense) so I'm posting here as well. Hopefully a user has had the same issues and can give me some advice!!! 1) The upload is ridiculously slow. I watched and it was roughly 100kbps. This DOES NOT have anything to do with my connection. I have a 35mb down/35mb up internet connection (fiber optic) 2) There is no way to cancel a backup (to Web Archive) that's currently in progress. I had to shut down Webroot itself. 3) I set up sync folders (instead of a one-time Web Archive) and nothing happened.
