Hello, I am new to the board and I just downloaded Webroot on my Kindle Fire which seems to work quite well. However, when I try to locate my Kindle, (just checking the app out), via my home computer, it never gives me a Google map! I can lock it, and make it scream but I can't seem to get the locate to work. Obviously, the Kindle Fire only has a W-Fi connection and, I live in a remote area...could that be the reason I can't locate the kindle? Thanks to all!
Hello All, Recently, within the last few weeks I noticed that Outlook 2010 will no longer open external links. An example would be a link from a contact to Yahoo News or Youtube. Clicking the link will open my default browser and will try to load the page, but the page remains blank and will not load the content. I'm assuming that either an MS Office update or an update from Webroot caused the change because I have not installed or made any configuration changes since the issue arose. After troubleshooting this myself I determined that the issue is specifically with the Identity Shield within SecureAnywhere Complete. If I disable it, the links work fine and with it enabled they will not load. I tried to narrow it down further by disabling some of the Identity Shield specific settings to no avail. I can have all of the settings unchecked and they still will not load. I also tried adding Outlook to Protected Applications and set the EXE's to "Allow" to no avail. The
Hello all and thanks for this great community. I recently renewed my Webroot subscription. I put the new keycode into my laptop and it validated it. However, whenever I shut my computer down, when I start back up, I have to reenter the code because Webroot pops up a box saying I'm expired. While I was typing this, I entered the code, it said activated and then proceeded to scan. Before I could finish, the scan ended and the popup came back saying expired. I reentered the code again and now it seems ok.. probably until the next time I reboot. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It still happened after I did that. Any ideas?
Hi, For a year and a half now, I can click on one to three websites...then I get a light blue screen that will not allow me to go any further. I then have to click out of AOL or Internet Explorer (It doesn't matter what search engine I'm using) and restart my internet connection. On some channels like YouTube, I can stay on as long as I don't switch websites. I've run every single test in my HP Computer in addition to the basic Clearing History and Defragmenting. I've used every single program in System Mechanic and Optimized my computer with every single advantage that my Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete has to offer... Yet the problem still exists! I've got a AMD Athlon II x 4 processor... No problems with hard drive corruption...No known viruses...No RAM problems to be found... It's driving me nuts! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! when i try to log into my toolbar it says this in red: "your subscription has expired. renew now to continue accessing password management." i renewed my subscription before the time was up a few months ago. it is good for another 365 days from today. my subscription is good for another year but my toolbar doesn't realize this. i uninstalled it and reinstalled using toolbarfix.exe, but it still says the same thing. How can I fix this thing?? Thanks!
I have webroot installed on my mobile phone and have been using it fine for weeks. I used the phone in an airport OK and turned it off. I then needed to make another call and turned on the phone and up came the red webroot locked message. I did not ask for the phone to be locked and no one else has access to do that, so why did it happen? PS, I am not switching SIM card or anything like that. Just turned off the phone completely and turned it on again later to make a call.
Ugh..well I was trying to get my company off of AVG/Norton/Panda . I personally run Webroot on 5 personal machines. Unfortunately the inability to exclude folders ie e:SupportSecurityTools on our customer servers/Terminalservers from scans is a show stopper. In the real world..users forget passwords to outlook, zip files.. Download crap which does strange things.... We also store software/misc tools for decoding passwords... scanning networks/packet sniffers; Nirsoft tools.... most of which can be considered hacker tools in the wrong hands. My Techs now hate Webroot because it munches their tools on remote servers. They have to disable Webroot completely (VERY BAD) download the deleted tools... run 'em and then re-enable Webroot.. This costs time/money and frustration. Only they (techs) have administrator access and Administrator read/execute is required for those special "Tools" directories. If Hacker/virus gets admin access... server is pretty much screwed anyway so the &quo

So I purchased Webroot with my laptop last year, and only recently renewed via the client (unfortunately I paid $39 and purchased the additional year for another $19, wish I had checked the website first). Anyhow, I installed the new version, and ran a full scan hoping Webroot would locate some nasty adware that I had somehow picked up when I recently installed Firefox. It did locate an adware .exe, and I removed that, but the other adware was still there. So I did a system restore, which I should have tried in the first place. System restore worked and the adware is gone. Unfortunately it screwed up Webroot to the point that I could not even uninstall it. The FAQ said to try and open the client, but I cannot even open the client. Is there someway I can download a the client and install using my keycode? And, no, I did not pay the extra $10 for the back-up disk (I just pad $60+ for the software). Help!
After installing the Endpoint Protection, my browsers (firefox and chrome) seem to be using 15-20 % of the each (each) while I'm not doing anything... As soon as I uninstall the webroot endpoint, those numbers frop to 0-1 % for both firefox and chrome. Are we doing something wrong, or is this just a byproduct of the webroot endpoint? -Brian
I seem to be having similar problems. It take almost 10 minutes for the page to open and after that it is unresponsive and will not let me click anything. I disabled admin for the program but it still wont respond. Is there any other way to get it to respond so i can update it. **edit for useful subject line and to move to proper forum
I just installed the complete version of Webroot and placed a keycode and ran an initial scan. When I access my secure anywhere account, under PC security, it lists that I have not associated Webroot to any PCs. Similarly, I just download the iphone app on my phone. I can't seem to log in, using my email address as the user name, but I can log in to the Webroot Secure Anywhere account on the web. Also, is Webroot compatible on the Nook. Thanks for the help.
All I can find is a single file called "WRSA.exe" in "C:Program FilesWebroot" on my 64-bit machine? Seriously? Only one executable? No DLLs or extra files? I'm very surprised here. Other software I've used has tons of other files including DLLs, driver files, etc.
I purchased a 5 user license for SecureAnywhere Complete a few days ago. I have installed it on 5 PC's and one Droid Bionic. 3 of the PC's are Windows XP, 1 is Windows 7 32 Bit and the final is Windows 7 64 bit. All 3 of the XP Boxes lose the ability to cut and paste. Rebooting fixes it for a while, but it happens again within 10 minutes. Shutting down Secure Anywhere fixes the problem immediately without reboot and it works fine until I restart Secure Anywhere. And it will happen again in a few minutes. It will come and go. On the 32 Bit Windows 7 PC, the CPU stays neat 100% when I am using Chrome. The mouse movement becomes "sticky" and I end up shutting down Chrome and restarting it. Within 5 minutes with 3 or 4 tabs open, it happens again. I only have a couple of extentions. When I shut down SecureAnywhere, the CPU does not hit 100%. On this same PC, the number keys change to arrow keys so the cursor jumps all over the screen when I try to enter numbers. The regul
I will be upgrading to WSA Complete in a few months (Just before this keycode expires). There are a few accounts I have that require a double log in. Good example would be Bank of America. Window 1: User sign in. Window 2: Passcode. Does WSA Complete log into accounts with this type of log in?
I've been having virus trouble for a week now. I origonally had Norton running and after my 13 year old son had his friend come over to stay a couple days my computer started acting kinda wierd. I would hear ocasionally music playing in the background or a commercial ad like I was listening to the radio. Then it would stop for a few minutes or cut in and out. I noticed my bandwidth on my DSL modem was being used even when I don't have any programs open. So I started looking for other virus programs to scan my computer to figure this out. I've tried PC Tools Spyware Doctor and found a couple virus's. But the bandwith was still being used without my consent. And ocassionally I would still hear commercial ads in the background. I also tried AVG and Mcaffe without much luck. So I did a search for Top Rated Virus software and came across WEBROOT. I had to install it while in safe mode as I couldn't get anything to install while in normal mode. After downloading the trial version
Hi everyone, I am reposting this message here in the right spot because I posted it in the wrong forum earlier. We have Webroot Enterprise edition. Here it is: I have to deploy Webroot SecureAnyWhere remotely using the remote deployment tool (RDT). I read through the whole manual but not able to work out how to set the paramenter to set the proxy server up in the advanced filed in RDT. By default you have SME, quiet. Dont know what SME stand for. Then I tried to use thise command line: CMDLINE="-proxyhost=ourproxy -proxyauth=0 -proxyuser= -proxypass= -proxyport=8080" /qn /L*v C:Windowsinstall_log.txt But the above does not work. The documentation is not really clear on this and there are no practical examples on how to do this. Tried to contact Webroot support but no reply. Has anyone tried this before and if so can someone explain it better to me. Also the web interface disappears from the client. I can see the Webroot service is installed and running but
Hi Apologies if this has already been addressed. I did search all of support. I have noticed that recently WebRoot has started to display the same Threats Detected message about the same three items. There is nothing listed in my quarantined items folder. To clear the message I run a deep scan and the scan result shows "3 threats found". WebRoot informs me that they are categorized as W32.Malware.Gen. I wish to keep the files. (Besides, I have researched the three items online and found that they are often reported as false positives). I de-select them all, and confirm that they are all highlighted in the Allow column. The system then does a final scan and everything is fine. Until I get the same Threats detected message about the same three items. Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to change a setting? Please help because it is beginning to get annoying. Many thanks Andy
