Questions About a Webroot Product? Start Here!
Hello, I am new here. Currently trying on an old pc the trial version of SecureAnywhere Complete 2012 and I am loving it ! Just had a question, so when my new laptop arrives in a few days and I purchase the SecureAnywhere Complete 2012, which shows a license for 3 PCS, how will I get it on the other 2 different pcs ? The way I think it is suppose to be done and please correct me if I am wrong. I purchase and install from Webroot official page, the product I want. Then I get the keycode and enter it on my laptop, where I will buy the product.Later, keep the keycode for the other 2 PCS. Finally, from each of the other 2 pcs, I go to Webroot official web site (http://www.webroot.com/En_US/index.html), then click on the top, Support/SecureAnywhere Support/upper right side hit on Reinstall my product, do the Request Software and Keycode, select my product, fill in last name and my e-mail (the one I used to buy it on original pc) and then
I hope in the next version of webroot secure anywhere you include a password manager extension for google chome since lastpass already works with chrome, Also regarding the firefox addon, is there anyway you can make it persistant so if I uninstall and reinstall firefox I do not have to redownload and run the fix again to re add it? Thanks
Using a Droid X on Android 2.3.3, running no other AVs I'm getting the error that "Login failed. the email or password is incorrect" I have the right email address in (not the default@gmail) and i've typed the password with the swype keyboard, the default keyboard, and copy/paste from a notepad app. I have submitted a ticket for this, but I thought I'd check with the forums to see if there was a quicker way to get this up and running. Thanks
When an .exe is "Allowed", what is the difference in the .exe file being in the various tabs in WSA which you can set to "Allow" in: 1. PC Security... Quarantine... Detection Configuration 2. Identity & Privacy... Protected Applications 3. System Tools... System Control... Control Active Processes If I have a program that I know is currently good, but the executable can be updated in the future with new versions, and the program can check daily for data updates, where should the "allow" setting be set? For example, I use security programs such as MS Security Essentials, SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes... file editing programs Programs from PortableApps.com
As I am a new subscriber, I'd welcome some advice on the best settings to use for Protected Applications in the Identity and Privacy Area. I have 3 web browsers and all are set at "Protect" which I think is generally advised. The fourth application shown is Media Go which is rather like a Sony version of iTunes. You use it to download movies, music and games and it's also a library. Anyway, I found that this application had been set at "Deny". I don't think that that is correct. Should I change the setting to "Allow" or to "Protect." What are the relative risks? Incidentally I didn't put the Deny setting myself. It doesn't make sense to totally block a media store and library, does it? Thanks Martin
hi guys, Has anyone ever come across webroot client issues where by webroot clients loaded onto individual pc's on the network drop off and have a connection error pop-up message? Where i work (some back ground info) we have scheduled WOL scripts that run through Visual Cron that control sweeps when the PC's wake up and Webroot is scheduled to run its sweeps. We have in the past always had this issue. i have tested and confirmed that all PC's actually run when running WOL tests however we still face connection error issues. Is there a default time as to why/when and how do the Webroot clients loaded onto PC's on the network suddenly drop off.
Everytime I try to login to the "My Webroot" account, I always get the same message when I login: Logout You are now logged off Return to Home This is really irritating. I can't login to my Webroot Backup & Sync either and I can't get my mobile apps to log me in either even though I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete 2012.
How to Cause the Device to ScreamKnowledge Base
Question
I read that when you need to use the Scream feature to find your phone in the house you need to send your phone an SMS. How do you send your phone an SMS if it's lost and you cant make an SMS?
Answer
There are a couple of ways to cause the phone to scream. The first method is to log in to your online account, select "Mobile Security," click on your phone, and select the "Lost Device Protection" tab. You will then see a button you can select to send the SCREAM command as well as the other options available to you. Another way to do this is via your cellular provider's website or another smartphone. Most cellular providers allow you to send SMS messages from your account page. To do it via SMS, text your number with "scream password" (replacing password with your Webroot password).
Question
I am unable to add my iPhone as a device. I have the apps on the phone and I can access them. Why don't they show up in the console?
Answer
Your iOS device will not show up under mobile security tab in your online account area. This is because that tab is reserved for the mobile anti-virus portion of the account, which currently only exists on Android devices. The iOS apps are not anti-virus applications. For a breakdown of our backup utility, SecureSync, click here. And here is some more on SecureWeb, our secure browser.

Locked Device on SIM Card ReplacementKnowledge Base
Question
I have put a new sim card in my phone, and now my phone is locked. The big problem is my phone is not online, so the command I send is not responding. Please, what else can I do?
Answer
This is the Webroot lock screen: If this isn't the screen you're referring to, you are not looking at the Webroot lock screen, and you should contact support for the lock screen you are seeing. If this is the screen you are seeing, please read on. The password is normally checked online. However the password is also stored locally on the device specifically for cases like this. Anytime you successfully log in by verification online, the app updates its local cache for In Case Of Emergencies logins. This has the side effect of meaning that the phone will always remember the OLD password if you change it online until it is able to verify the
I'm very happy with my webroot secureanywhere complete in my PC, which detected and removed threats that no other antivirus could. However, I can't log in in my Samsung Android smartphone. There's always a Mail/password error massage, though they are right. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app (WR complete version) with no results. Would you please help me? Thanks.
Here at Webroot, we see so many customers (and potential customers) ask “what’s the difference between Webroot SecureAnywhere and the older Webroot products?” The short answer is a winning combination of compatibility, unmatched speed, efficiency, and protection. The longer answer is this: Internet Security Trendsetting Unlike sports, there is no such thing as the “seasoned veteran” when it comes technology, and terms like “classic” and “old school” typically mean your product is outdated and slow. In fact, the only way veterans survive in the tech world is if they have a quality product that is constantly being updated (if not reinvented) with the newest technology. One of the few exceptions has been the internet security industry as a whole. For far too long, internet security companies have been playing it safe, reluctantly avoiding to stay current with the ever-evolving technological trends. Needless to say, every internet security software company (including Webroot
I installed WSA on my wife's laptop but it is not visible on the PC Security console. I did have WSA installed on there a couple months ago, uninstalled it then asked the support team to have it removed from the console. Could this be why it's not showing up even though it's installed again? P.S. As a disclaimer, I have reported this to the support team via a ticket but I've not heard back since Saturday, so I thought I'd ask here too.
Are there any plans of introducing a server based version to complement endpoint protection? I'm thinking more from a small business medical practice perspective that would want a quick, low resource usage, protection on their file server or application server, even though the endpoints have an antivirus solution.
My brother got his computer serviced @ Best Buy (BB) to get rid of the Smart HDD malware and he had them install Webroot SA Antivirus because of it's low resource usage. I noticed that the key code had some Best Buy references (I think) , and the paper insert in the CD case has a subsection for Best Buy within the main Webroot website for product downloads. Questions: 1. My brother has a 3 user, 3 year licensing Webroot SA AV version from BB, so does he need to use the CD version / download from the BB subsection of your website, or can he just use the normal "wsainstall.exe" to install on his other machines? 2. Can he create a My Webroot account online for himself and register his keycode? 3. How does he handle renewals - through Best Buy or Webroot? 4. I just recently became a Webroot fan and have installed WebRoot SA Complete. Since I am the family tech support guy, can I put his keycode as a separate console on my own My Webroot account at the same time that he
To anyone and everyone, I just today purchased the Secure Anywhere package. Unfortunately I am unable to add my iPhone as a device. I have the apps on the phone and I can access the Secure Web browser, but the Secure Sync app will not accept my accurate Username and password - even though it is readily accepted on my laptop. What gives? Why is this so difficult? I can't add my device when the app doesn't accept the correct User & Password. &n
Hello Forum! I have a simple question: What is the proper way to add another mobile device to your account to gain access to Webbroot SecureAnywhere Complete? I want to add it to another smartphone. Hello, I am a new user to Webroot Secure Anywhere Essentials 2012 and so far I think its just fantastic :) However I think there is a bug or glitch that I have found and am hoping it will be fixed. After I right click on the Recycle Bin and run "Scan with webroot" it disappears from the right click menu. Even if the same files still remain in the Recycle Bin "Scan with webroot" is gone the very next time I right click on the Recycle Bin. However I also noticed when you add more files to the Recycle Bin the "Scan with webroot" returns to the right click menu. I also noticed when there are no files in the Recycle Bin there is still a "Scan with webroot" in the right click menu. Like for example if a restore a file from the Recycle Bin the "Scan with webroot" remians on the right click menu even though there are no more files in the Recycle Bin. Is this how the "Scan with webroot" is supposed to work? I would like
I guess I won't be buying your product because it's failed to detect an obvious infection. Where do I send this file so you add it to your database? It's really too bad, yours is the only product I can run in real time that doesn't slow my pc down to glacial spped. Oh well, I've saved a big chunk of change.
I downloaded networkminer.exe from SourceForge and webroot appears to think it's a Threat of some kind. As far as I know it's just a tool for analyzing web traffic. It thinks the threat is Win32.LocalInfect.2, the googling of which only returns 6 results. I also downloaded a game some kids at the hackerspace wrote in http://scratch.mit.edu/ and it also detected it as a threat, something else Win32....
