No key code for free app - no features available

[u]From the mobile security website, you’ll be able to:[/u] [list] [*]Find your phone on a map if it’s lost or stolen* [*]Activate a scream alert to find your phone nearby* [*]Remotely lock your phone to protect your personal data like passwords, contacts, and photos[/list]How are you supposed to do any of that if you have to register first, and to register, you have to have a key code?

raw error: malformed licence check

i have installed webroot mobile security and antivirus on my android device but i cannot get started. it asks me to create a webroot account but when i try to sign in it displays an error message"your device currently doesn't have internet connection. raw error: malformed licence check responce received". this doesn't mean anything at all because i have internet connection perfectly well. in order to sign in i had to visit webroot's url. but still when i tried to log in, the same problem occured. please let me know why is it happening?   **edit for useful subject -admin

PC's work fine as does one Android phone, second doesn't

I am having a similar issue as several others on various postings but I'm unable to get a resolution so I thought I'd ask here. I have two PC's protected and working fine. My wife and I have exactly the same Android phones. My phone works fine but I am unable to log into Webroot through her phone and the the "the email or password you entered is incorrect". The online interface shows her phone "needing attention" and that the "USB debugging is enabled" where in fact it is not. I am unable to make the program run at all on her phone. Her phone did work just fine when new and she broke that phone and got an exact replacement and ATT moved her SIM card to the new phone. This is approximately when we started having issues with her Webroot software not working. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Can't access password feature in SecureWeb iOS

I downloaded the SecureWeb app from the iTunes store and installed on my iPhone. I have attempted to set up an account for Webroot but I don't have a product code for the SecureWeb app, therefor I cannot register. Without a User Name and Password I can't access the password feature in SecureWeb. What am I missing?

Please explain 'protected information' of identity shield > protected appliactions

I could not find anything helpfull on the term 'protected information' in the help file nor on this forum. What kind of information is protected? Or are applications as a whole protected? I have had a lot of trouble using this feature and think I still have. I have moved almost all apllications to 'allow' mode. Understanding what exactly is protected, would help me to understand the usage of this potentially very usefull feature imho.

I really like this version but i miss downloading updates and seeing them download and install, for some reason i do not feel protected because i dont see updates anyone else feel this way ?

Support outsourced?

I've just had a somewhat frustrating encounter with Support. First off, the guy didn't know what Process Explorer is. Secondly, he told me it shouldn't be on my Desktop. Thirdly, he said it should already be "in Windows folder where the explorer is running." He then asked me why I "downloaded those exe from different places?" It was the last message that worried me the most: [quote]Since those process explorer program will directly related with the process of the computer, and get information of the computer all the time, Webroot will monitor such applications so it such program can't mess up with the computer processes. This doesn't mean bad at all. Webroot Secure is doing what it suppose to do and nothing to worry about. New Technical Support account

After submitting a ticket last night, I was given a link to download wsalogs, which I ran. After uploading the necessary files, it opened a Technical Support website (as it informed me it would) but it seems to have created a new account for me. I've also received an email with logon information, with a different password from what I normally use. So, do I now use this new password going forward, or is this a one-off for the wsalogs ticket?

Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials issue.

Hi, To Start off, both me and my mom were updated to Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials about 6 months ago. We both currently have version 8.0.1.203 (we're on the same license) and we both use PCs that run Windows 7. Before the update (aka the old version of Webroot), we would run scans, and it would catch everything, and it worked great. However, after the update, we both noticed that our scans would not detect any threats. I thought this was normal at first, but six months later, and after 50 or so scans, Webroot has not detected a single thing. I know that this cannot be pure luck, because Webroot was always catching things, on the old version. We checked to see if our subscription had run out, but we still have 279 days left on it. So...all in all, we're a little confused as to why nothing has been caught, ever since we were updated to the new version. Any help or input is appreciated! On a side note...we both have all of our Webroot firewalls and shields activated.

Internet inaccessible after installing WSA AV - suspecting conflict with parental control programs.

I've installed SecureAnywhere AV (SAAV) on 3 systems. For 2 of them, everything went smooth. On a third one though... After installing, I canot access internet. (Internet explorer has stopped working ... blah blah error msg) Disable all IE plug ins. No luck. From a cmd prompt: Ping well known sites such as google.com or cnn.com: fail Ping their IP, in case it is DNS related: fail Access shared drives on LAN, open files, etc.: *success!* (So, it seems to be IP stack related) Disable SAAV: does not fix Uninstall SAAV: does not fix Restore system prior to installation of SAAV: everything back to normal. After that, I updated windows to very latest updates and created a restore point. Everything still fine. Install SAAV: problem is back. Again, disable or uninstall SAAV does not solve the problem (** the fact that uninstalling does not fix it is very annoying) Restore to that new restore point: everything is fine. This system runs Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, and I'm using IE 8. SAAV

Are two versions of Webroot supposed to be running now?

Just reformatted my computer and when I installed Spysweeper with Antivirus, it told me there was an upgrade available. I upgraded, and now it looks like two separate programs are running: Webroot SecureAnywhere, and Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper. Is this normal?

"The email or password you entered is incorrect"

Hello, I have scoured the message boards for a solution to the log in fail I am getting. the message I recieve says "The email or password you entered is incorrect." Now I have read all the boards and the basic troubleshooting that you guys have posted and I am still getting the message. The phone does autofill the email address but I correct it. I believe the problem has something to do with I just bought another year and added an additional security key to my webroot page.

Phone Locked

I was given an unlock code by my mobile phone network which my phone didn't recognise.When I switched my phone on with my normal sim, webroot had locked my phone. I have no idea what my pssword is and the website will recognise any of my emails to change it. I never registered my keycode. Now my phone is locked I can't access my keycode to open an account. How do I unlock my phone? Is there any webroot contact in the UK?My phone is a Galaxy 2 and it is on Orange. Please help!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I've followed all the instructions to download both apps to my iOS device, and I can log on successfully. But, when I open the homepage to my account, under "Mobile Devices", it shows "0" devices protected. Do I need to still do something for my mobile devices to show up? Thank you!

Hello, I am new . I have the Anywhere Complete version

I have no problem signing in at my. webroot.... site. My problem is when I go to my bank's sign in page or any page that I sign in at Webroot asks me if I want to manage passwords for the site and of course I click on it. I am asked through a pop-up which has my email address already filled in then I am to put the password in. I do and it comes back as "Invalid Password. I try several times and even though I am already signed in with the same password I am being asked to fill in with it comes back every time as Invalid. Any Ideas folks? Thank You, Perry

[h2]Question[/h2]What's the technical difference between a deep scan and a full scan?   [h2]Answer[/h2][h3][b]Deep scan:[/b][/h3]This is the normal, default scan mode.    Webroot SecureAnywhere (WSA) inspects system configuration information (registry and file locations, running processes, loaded modules, etc) to determine what is loaded into memory, and what definitely will or is likely to load into memory during normal computer use.  These files are then initially scanned by generating an MD5 hash of the full file and submitting it to the cloud system.    If the item is known as [i]Good,[/i] this data is cached and no further action is taken.    If the file is known as [i]Bad[/i], it is inspected more deeply, interdicted if currently in memory, and the cleanup engine is brought into play to start keeping track as the scan continues.   If the file is reported as [i]Unknown[/i], it has further information gathered about it and submitted to t

Threat unable to be removed

Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile found 1 threat today: Mobile tracker com.andriod.settings.mt It is however unable to remove it. Is there anyway to tell if this is a real threat or a false positive. If it is a threat how would I remove it without wiping the phone. Running Samsung Galaxy S2 Andriod 4.0.3. Thanks

Closing account and transfering key to new account?

Is it possible for webroot tech supoort to close my current account and then I could create a new account with a new e mail address and transfer my current Secure Anywhere Complete key to the new account? Reason I kind of would like to do this is because on my account page the Backup and Password icons are orange and say "[b]Your keycode has now expired.[/b] To continue accessing Backups please renew your keycode now, or your data may be lost." This has happen because I had tech support change my current key from an international key one to a local USA key one. I relize its only a cozmedic glitch but it kind of bothers me :( lol

I see the options area on teh client, but am unable to makde modifications there... so there must be a way to do the same from within the Policy editor, right? On the endpoint client: Client > Settings > Wen Threat Shield > View Websites
