Welcome. 4 months have in your laptop Webroot Complete. Generally, every day or every few days I send through a program to analyze a lot of suspicious virus-infected files. The fact - are quickly addressed and dealt with by the program. My question is to you - otherwise how can you transfer files to analyze in more - but after five, because it is a tedious one. Another question is if I can get the answer - what engines have Webroot? I know that uses the Prevx because it was purchased, but do something else?
Here is the link to the test, Webroot can not cope too well, you may need to draw any conclusions from this? But the fact is that it shows the program settings. I spent hours trying to get iTunes reloaded after some issues with its file listings. When I went to Best Buy's GeekSquad for help, they advised my hp laptop was infected with a virus (not identified) that had scrambled my operating system (Windows 7 (x86). My data was backed up and Win7 reinstalled. When my data was returned to the laptop almost every file showed a duplicate (.old). I have spent many hours removing this excess 'chaff'. My only protection was Webroot, installed by Best Buy when I bought the laptop last May. They still love Webroot, but I'm so convinced anymore. What do you recommend as backup? Webroot is running all the time............... Suggestions are welcome. :)
"Account creation failed. The license check server returned an invalid response. Raw Error: License check failed due to too many activations. Response code: 7" I saw the post in the forums on this and have tried the following: 1) Fixed keyboard settings so that it is not auto-capitalizing which didn't help. All letters that are supposed to be lower-case show up as upper-case. 2) Tried to paste the key with lower case letters (from a different application) and it gets converted when I paste the code into the field. Pastes fine into a few other applications. 3) Saw a suggestion to use the "old" key from a previous installation or the key from my PC. I can't find an older key than the one on my PC and it is all upper-case. Please help. I'm a very satisfied Webroot user and hope there is a relatively simple fix to the problem.
I purchased webroot secureanywhere complete. I downloaded the Webroot SecureAnywhere Mobile Complete app for my android. I have entered my email address, password and keycode associated with my laptop subscription. I continually receive an error that says this "Your user credentials are not associated with this SecureAnywhere Complete keycode. Make sure you've created this user on my.webrootanywhere.com and try again." The keycode I entered IS associated with the email address and password i entered. The keycode i entered is the exact keycode shown in my "manage keycodes" section of my online account. Why isn't it recognizing it? Droid Bionic 3.2
Greetings - I've used Spysweeper WITHOUT Antivirus for several years. For antivirus protection I use a different product. I do NOT like or want to use one program for all my security ! I believe in the old proverbial phrase, "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket". Today, Spysweeper checked for updates and it said an update was available, so I accepted it. BAD IDEA, because now Webroot Spysweeper INCLUDES antivirus protection (SecureAnywhere). It is not a good idea to have multiple antivirus products running on the same PC. I removed Webroot and reinstalled Spysweeper. Unfortunately the antivirus part is included. HOW do I get JUST Spysweeper Antispyware WITHOUT the antivirus protection of SecureAnywhere? (Or do I have to forget about using Webroot's Spysweeper in the future entirely?)
As far as I know Windows 7 has a two way firewall, what exactly does Webroots firewall do and can it conflict with Windows Firewall? I am very cautious about letting third party software clean my registry. If your software totally safe when it is touching my registry for cleaning? I have cleaned my registry in the past with software like CCleaner and it really caused problems because I am an idiot and cleaned too much haha.

Hi, i have a few questions before buying webroot, maybe someone can help me out?

Network shares/mapped drive Personally i have almost all my personal data stored on network shares. If i try to run a manual scan on these shares, the scan stars and almost immediately stops. The logfile states that nothing was scanned. If I right click scan a folder, some files get scanned, but not all and it doesn't seem webroot is diving deeper into sub-directories. Can anyone clarify, what the expected behavior is?
Firewall Unlike other products, webroot doesn't seem to integrate with the windows firewall, which is perfectly fine for me. Does the webroot firewall take precedence over the windows firewall or will the rules in the windows firewall match first?
Reporting This is more like a feature request. Are you planning on improving the reporting interface and logfiles of previous scans? The report interface is very tiny on i.e.. 2560x1440 with the fixed sized
When I open the Protected Applications (Open WSAE > Identity & Privacy > Protected Applications Advanced) I list the following: IE - Protected FF- Protected WOT - Allow (Had to change to allow after installing WOT because after installing WOT WSA sets it to Deny) The following entry has me puzzled: a0079894.exe C:System Volume Information_Restore ( lot of numbers & letters) - Set to Deny Why do I have Restore in this setting or why did it appear? Can I delete this entry without having problems?
I work in IT and we've been using Webroot for our systems for quite some time. Over the past few months I've seen this incident arrise, but have found no traces online for a solution. What seems to be happening is webroot SecureAnywhere stops running, and cannot be uninstalled. Tried running in safemode, and creating other user profiles to trioubleshoot without any success. The systems I've seen running them appear to have no virus related problems (they had been wiped to factory within 6-12 months.) I've ran spyware doctor, and malware bytes to find no other infections. Windows updates are running normally as well. Secondly, I've used forced uninstalling program (Revo) to remove the program. The webroot SecureAnywhere installer does not launch (after uninstalling SecureAnywhere), but when I try and use the old Webroot AV+Spyware software it launches! Hooray, but I get a message saying that a newer version of Webroot is already installed. I've spent some time removing all registry f
More than 55,000 new malicious software programs are registered each day by AV-Test an independent antivirus (AV) research institue. Any one of these can have a mild to devastating impact on the organization, randing from wasted IT staff hours to damages to consumer confidence or losses of dollars in the instance of a regulatory violation. In fact, the average organization experiences a malware attack every 73 days, Osterman Research found in a 2011 study, in which 44% of participants said that a single malware attack had cost them as much as $10,000, while another 27% reported financial impacts as high as $50,000. Too few IT decision-makers address malware threats adequately, chalking up security breaches as a cost of doing business, the researchers noted, adding, "The costs [of malware] are typically higher than many organizations realize, but with the right knowledge and technologies, it is possible to reduce the impacts of malware." Lookout Free Antivirus preinstalled on my LG-C800 Android phone and I have Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete. I don't use Lookout as an active program, but would there be a problem running it? I don't plan to do so but want to know. My phone model uses up battery fast, so I keep bluetooth off except when I use it. The only app that runs all the time is the Webroot.
I set up my account but all I see is a page that says "You are logged out" and a link that says "Return to Home". I did some searching and apparently I'm supposed to verify my email but I never recieved an email and I see no obvious way to resend an activation email. What can I do?
I'm an android dev, so my phone is virtually always configured to allow installation from unknown sources, with USB debugging on. which means that my security console always considers me 'insecure' and 'needs attention'. it would be really nice if one could select each of those alerts and set them to 'ignore'.
I've had the misfortune of running into this guy. He's found a way to bypass security on android phones. Here's what happened with me. I recently went to on a "free" offer of a ringtone. I entered my phone number to get the ringtone and noticed a subscription notification in the terms & conditions below and stopped. I left the page without completing the transaction. Since I had typed out my number he has a script that recorded it running on that page. since then he has passed my number out to his so called affiliates and have been getting webpage link notifications sent directly to my phone saying I won this, I won that.. and links to apps that I'm assuming he's written with code to do the same as I've described above. and since it's not sms messages I can't block hom. so webroot DO YOUR THING! I'm sure you guys can come up with something to block this guy. if you need more info, feel free to contact me.
I have installed WSA Essentials 2012 and have a question/concern regarding the firewall. I have set the firewall mode to "Warn if any process connects to the internet unless explicitly allowed". This seems to be working each time I open a new appliction (that needs network access) I get a popup asking if I should allow it. So far so good... However, I noticed in the popup that there is a line stating "Allowing in 60 seconds" and this counts down to 0 and then allows access. After the 60 seconds the dialog box is recreated on the screen and the countdown start again (it does this a couple of times), though after the first 60 seconds the app is granted access. This does not seem like a secure feature. If a unwated app tries to send information and I am away from the screen, it will be allowed in 60 seconds? Can anyone confirm that this is the way this works? Is there anyway to change the behavior to not allow the connection by default? Unless I am not
