If you’re a Steam fan running Linux, the last thing you’ll want to do in the next few days is mess with your Steam files. Users on Valve’s GitHub Steam for Linux page are complaining about a nasty bug that has the potential to wipe out every single personal file on your PC. Even worse, users say the bug will even wipe out documents on USB connected drives. So much for local backups. This revelation comes at the very end of a new preview of the game collection from IGN, thanks to a quote from 343 executive producer Dan Ayoub:
"During development we were really pleased with the way the engine and buffer allowed us to switch instantly between classic and Anniversary engines that are running simultaneously – however that, as you might expect, put a hit on resolution. I have webroot complete. I noticed when I looked at the latest Personal Secuity report they sent me that it says that it includes Mobeil security at no additional cost. So what does that mean exactly? When you add a mobile device, does that use up a seat? Or do mobile devices not count asgainst devices used? I have McAfee on my phone because Sam's Club gave me a two year subcription of the Pro version, but I sure wouldn't mind dumping it. They keep pushing out the free version to my phone. So now I have the Pro version with Ads. For the second time. And I already hated McAfee before all this.
After rebooting my computer it shows" Webroot SecureAnywhere is turned off and I have no Malware protection. When I click on Turn On Now. Nothing. Just asked me if I trust it to run. I click I do and Nothing Help Mickey
The DeathTaker is a wired professional gaming mouse targetting the eSports scene. It's a claw grip style mouse and is very light for its size although it comes with weights (4.5g x 6) so that you can customize the feel. Plastic is the primary material used and the weights will be necessary for added precision. The DeathTaker has an adjustable laser, customizable in-mouse macros and teflon pads at the front and back to help it guide smoothly. You can use the API for ajusting DPI, polling rate and other features. At a reasonable $52, it might be worth testing, but there are a few others that might have it beat at the same price range with a more comfortable and precise feel. DecryptedTech Review
Hi all, Please be aware of a website called '_ww.e-luk.net' <URL edited to remove as contrary to Community Guidelines> they are trying to scam people saying you entered a competition which you have not entered also they tell you your full address and details. I think this is only happening in the UK but wanted to warn my good friends on webroot. Thanks Adam
Hi all... the Prodigal Idiot returns. It's not that I don't think about you; the world is going faster and I'm going slower. Never seems to be enough time to get everything started, let alone done. :-( Okay, so I was having issues with Safari this morning, so started my usual run-through to check my iMac. Got to Webroot and the "prep to scan" kept clocking up time. This has never happened before. So, forging ahead, I uninstalled Webroot thinking it needed a reboot. Downloaded a new program and it wouldn't accept my keycode to activate. The screen goes from green to red/orange and I was expecting sirens to go off. Started over....uninstall again, called help line. Got sent instructions for a download and install. Downloaded again, installed. Aha! Accepted the keycode that I had all along. Hit activate. Looked good....for about 2 seconds, then went red/orange and got an error screen....
I just enabled a feature of our email service that tells me when incoming emails were not sent via TLS. It is telling me that Infection Alert messages from email@example.com are not utilizing TLS. This is probably minor, but it could constitute a security risk in some cases.
I just moved from Avast to WR Complete based on some reviews and ability to manage multiple devices from centralized interface which is why I purchased Avast years ago because of their WHS interface that really no longer exists. Anyway, I also have LastPass Preimium for myself and LastPass free for my wife. I use a shared family folder with my wife for the logons she uses and I keep them up for her. Some of the sites in my vault currently have multilevel security prompts configured like for pin codes or additional prompts a company might require ... particularly financial sites. I also use LastPass on my Android phone for various financial apps. I also have the extension installed on my PC to log into some applications on my PC like Quicken and investment tools. I would simply like some feedback on what people's experiences were moving from LastPass to WR Password Manager and whether it would be worth me dropping the LastPass Premium and migrating all my sites from LastPass. I'm t
I purchased a new webroot disc recently. Loaded successfully on the 1st pc but it is not accepted here on the 2nd pc. I believe you alerted me of a subscription for the prior coming to the end of its term, and I believe we paid for it, but Webroot is still saying payment due. Regardless of this (if I see the charge I will address that then), I have a NEW key code and it is not accepted on the 2nd pc. when I try to submit this... you are asking for my register log in, which i JUST created but is not recognized!
I called my bank and they told me to contact my internet provider to have the remote access removed because this person can still access my computer whether it is on or not. My bank gave me a temporary password to reset my password after I got the remote access removed and then I would not be liable if something happened to my bank accounts. I call ATT and for only $15 a month they cover up to four computers including optimizing, removing remote access, virus check, printers, iphones, tuning up the computer and a lot more! I can call anytime. It took about one hour with ATT and they restored and fixed my registry, remove emptied files, removed one virus threat, and a lot more! I was surprised about the one virus! I now have a ATT toolbox on my destop at my disposal. The reason I say all of this is because if you are getting a lot of tickets on this then please let the people know that they need to do what I did for peace of mind. If ATT couldn't do it then I was going to have to ta
