Greetings - I've used Spysweeper WITHOUT Antivirus for several years. For antivirus protection I use a different product. I do NOT like or want to use one program for all my security ! I believe in the old proverbial phrase, "Don't keep all your eggs in one basket". Today, Spysweeper checked for updates and it said an update was available, so I accepted it. BAD IDEA, because now Webroot Spysweeper INCLUDES antivirus protection (SecureAnywhere). It is not a good idea to have multiple antivirus products running on the same PC. I removed Webroot and reinstalled Spysweeper. Unfortunately the antivirus part is included. HOW do I get JUST Spysweeper Antispyware WITHOUT the antivirus protection of SecureAnywhere? (Or do I have to forget about using Webroot's Spysweeper in the future entirely?)
I'm new. I instaled the Webroot, performed a full scan. Ok. Then I went on https://mobile.webroot.com/info to see the other features. I tried the "locate my device" feature on "Lost Device Protection" tab 3 times, but it couldn't find it. Although it could find it for the "Scream" feature. Why?
User guide for Webroot Mobile was available on the old mobile forum. Unfortunately you have closed this forum in favour of Community Forums, OK why not. However user guide for mobile version is missing there. Under section user guides there are listed all your products except for mobile version. Therefore could you access the mobile version user guide again?
After a total 3 visits to best buy, this virus still hasn't been removed... It looks like they used atleast 4 different programs to remove it, but it still remains on my laptop. Heres what is says on the scan, copied any pasted: c:$mbr.1 Win32.Autolock.1 After it "removes" the virus and restarts the virus is still there after another scan... The malware also shows up on Windows task manager crss.exe winlogon.exe atieclxx.exe The processes don't have a user name and no description When I try to end them it says Access Denied even though I'm on the Administrative profile, the only profile on my laptop. Webroot finds the threat, but doesn't remove it, help
Testing SecureAnywhere on a HTC Sensation under Android 4.0. Following issues/questions: 1) Commands sent via web interface listed for everyone to see in notifications area. Any way to hide them? 2) Scream function is not working, might be OS/device specific? 3) While Lost Device Protection is turned on and i.e. Locate my device working fine, phone is still listed as "in need of attention", and how to fix icon reveals nothing. Webroot continues to be a double-edged sword for me. I've always had great difficulty navigating and finding things, and have a difficult time distinguishing the different opening pages. There should always be an easy way to (1) assess my own account and (2) gain access to help and support from webroot.com. My most recent example is that I lost Webroot on my other pc due to a computer problem and have to reinstall. I go to webroot.com, then mywebroot, and enter my email address and password. I'm now on the Secureanywhere page on that computer with four boxes - PC Security, Mobile Security, Backups, and Passwords. Nowhere on the site is there a link to help and support, or a place to find "community," or to gain access to all the Webroot tools and options I managed to find a link to reinstalling on another computer and thought I reinstalled webroot but it added the webroot as an additional pc rather than reinstalling. This was on Internet Explorer and now I want to
Hi all, Having the paid Premier version. I have set scheduled scans on a weekly basis. However every 7th day I am getting a warning that it is for a week when a scan wasn't run and I have to trigger it manually. It means that even if I have set weekly scans, they are not running. Daily update of definitions works fine, just the scans are problem. I am not sure but it might be that the problem with the missing scans began since update to 2.3.1336. Any clue to resolve it? Thx, pegas
I have tried a couple of times clicking on the "Update software" button on the WSAC and have gotten the same message both times. The message was, "You are using the newest version of Webroot and this version no longer needs to update virus definitions. Threat protection is now performed "in the cloud" and is always up-to-date." So, that being said, why is there an "update software" button? (I know. Dumb question. Right?)
Hello, I'm a little confused about whether synched files are securely backed up. Since all synched files are altered when a change is made, does that mean if a file is deleted, even if by mistake, it will be deleted on synched computers and online? Or if a computer breaks down and has to be reformatted, are the synched files online removed as well. I assume synched files are protected even if not on the Web archive as this would defeat the value of synching, but I've not been able to find this topic on Webroot documentation. Thanks.
I cannot find anywhere on the product website where I can give feedback to a real person so I am posting a concern here. I like Webroot have used it for several years and recommended it to others. my product is updated and since upgrading to SecureAnywhere it has not found one problem on my PC. scanning with the free Spybot Search and Destroy right afterwards I have found numerous malware and spy items that Spybot identified and removed. FYI ---------- (Title has been edited to better reflect the issue and for character limitations - Jim)
I read in annother posting on the community site that someone had found an issue with the shutdown procedure on pcs after installing webroot. I, too, have that "issue", but although it is a bit of an annoyance sometimes, it is not really an issue for me. I was, however, wondering if there has been any "resolution", or "fix" as it were, to this issue. If so, it would be nice to know. If not, again, it is not anything with which I am overly concerned. Merely curious.
My battle with a malware sent me on a path to WebRoot. The name of the malware has slipped my mind (that's good!), but it attacted all my .exe files. My computer was runing F-secure from charter, which did not block it or find it. The computer was also running iolo System mechanic. To rid the malware, I downloaded and ran MalwareBytes, which did stop the problem. I also ended up installing SpeedyPC Pro to finish the cleanup after the malware removal. Next, researched new protection for the PC and choose WebRoot (hooray!). No I am not employed by WebRoot, just enjoying it. Now, I have a subscription to System Mechanic 10 and SpeedyPC Pro. Which one of these will compliment Webroot the best? Or, maybe, I do not need either? From running both of them simutaneously, SpeedyPC seems to be doing a better job than System Mechanic. Looking for some good feedback. Neil
I use webroot complete today my compute basically froze, I had to hit the power button to shut it down. On restart it would not show desktop but the webroot pop up showed up saying im secure. I went into safe mode trying to figure out what was wrong and after trying many things I decided to uninstall wbroot and see. After I uninstalled restarted computer and it startted right up don't know if it was a bug or a glitch but I have reinstalled complete again and I am hoping it doesn't happen again.I am using windows 7 64 bit webroot secureanywhere complete and malwarebytes free. I ran a webroot scan, malwarebytes full scan, and a hitmanpro on demand scan all came up clean.
I spent hours trying to get iTunes reloaded after some issues with its file listings. When I went to Best Buy's GeekSquad for help, they advised my hp laptop was infected with a virus (not identified) that had scrambled my operating system (Windows 7 (x86). My data was backed up and Win7 reinstalled. When my data was returned to the laptop almost every file showed a duplicate (.old). I have spent many hours removing this excess 'chaff'. My only protection was Webroot, installed by Best Buy when I bought the laptop last May. They still love Webroot, but I'm so convinced anymore. What do you recommend as backup? Webroot is running all the time............... Suggestions are welcome. :)
