PriceWaterhouseCoopers devises a new game to make corporates, retailers and employees aware of cyber security
Sony hack has hit the United States corporate world pretty hard. It never seemed possible that that a band of hackers could bring the entertainment behemoth to its knees but that happened. How is corporate world or retailers fighting back. Well by playing games! More accurately playing “Game of Threats.” Game of Threats game is a hacking simulator developed by management consulting firm, PriceWaterhouseCoopers to convince all concerned to take cyber security and hacking very seriously. The strategy game is somewhat a mixture of Chess with turned based card game like “Magic: The Gathering.” Full Article
I use a product called Networx to monitor data usage on my data limited satellite system. I installed Webroot about 2 months ago and they have coexisted well. Now Webroot doesn't like Networx and has deleted some of its files, and most recently wouldn't let it start from the autostart area after a reboot. Networx has not updated itself (it always asks me) and there is no difference there, clearly Webroot is looking for something different now than it was before. When this sort of thing occurs, why do I not have an option to tell Webroot to watch this product but not start deleting stuff unless we talk about it first? I really dislike that behavior, since after 25 years of computing I do have some occasionally intelligent input to offer! Thanks, Gurn
I saw an interview on Fox news about haw practically all flashlight programs contain malware. They also said you needed to do a factory reset to clear out the RATs. (Remote access trojans) The following is a link to the report. http://www.snoopwall.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Flashlight-Spyware-Report-2014.pdf Any thoughts, experiences? Does Webroot protect against this?
I checked on this with one of support folks and it looks like they are actively investigating what is causing this. If you are still getting the message, please contact support so that we can get a copy of your logs.
When IE11 is opened on a Win 10, and possibly earlier OS versions) without Webroot started a gray icon appears to browser searches in both Google and Yahoo. Does anyone know causes those or even what they are called? The same icons appear when IE11 is opened with Sandboxie and may be causing many of my native IE11 web pages. Frequently, no webshield icons appear for non-add webpages. Especially on page 1 of the search results. I am often able to restore the icons by changing pages back and forth and using the Search icon. Often, when another page is selected, the icons show up on the page I'm exiting JUST before the switch to the next page. I'm guessing the settings causeing the "grey" icons may be interfering with the Webshield icons. Or, am I the only one in the world with this issue? Again.... :D

VERY HAPPY / Just renewed it for 2 more years ...a few hours ago. Got my Lenovo laptop (my first laptop) a year ago. / Came with 1 year of WEBROOT PLUS. First off, it preformed flawlessly........yet ya barely notice it is there. I'm not unskilled, but far from a "Computer WIZARD" .............the setup is easy to use. It obviously covered all aspects of security better than every other anti-virus I previously used. Not one glitch if a full year. OK, so safe bet........Happy camper with WEBROOT performance! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But add to that....this community forum has been a HUGE BONUS. I've only posted a couple of times with questions, even though had MANY QUESTIONS. I didn't need to post them because others already have and were answered well in threads. People a
The EFF and the Entertainment Software Alliance are going head-to-head over the need to preserve functionality in abandoned games. The EFF wants an exemption to the DMCA to keep games alive after its servers are closed down, but the ESA and its allies the MPAA and RIAA are vigorously opposing the digital rights group. While video gaming used to be a strictly offline affair, in the current market many titles require continued access to custom online resources in order to function. I have gotten three alerts by Secure Anywhere that my look screen is in an unsafe state and all three times I've reset the lock. What can undo my lock screen? I did recently install an app lock but have not set it to lock my screen. Thankfully Webroot Secure Anywhere catches it, but it's troubling. Wearing my aluminum beany and waiting. Thanks.

While previous reports stated that only Microsoft's Halo live action projects, along with its Atari documentary, would be moving forward, Shane Hensley, the creator of the Deadlands game, posted word on his Facebook page earlier this month that the project to turn it into a TV show is still moving forward at Microsoft. Indeed, he stated, "Rumors of the Deadlands live action series' demise, I'm happy to say, are greatly exaggerated." [url=htt
