Questions About a Webroot Product? Start Here!
Sent a support ticket 9 days ago...no response. After a long wait on hold today I finally got through to someone that verified what I suspected. There is a BUG they are working on specifically with Android Version 12 UI Version 4.1. There is no information on when this BUG will be fixed. I hope this post will help or save you some time if you are encountering the same issues.
Hi. We have installed Webroot on over 100 machines in our company, and only a few have issues with newly created or modified files.Webroot locks the newly created file and doesn't allow it to open until rebooting the computer.I found this topic (Windows 10 Fall Creator Update - Bug Fix | Webroot Community) where you describe the same issue and want to know if it must be fixed by patch or if it is already included in new versions because this topic was created five years ago. Thank you.
I am at my wits end with the WebRoot WiFi product. Whenever my laptop goes to sleep or I close the lid (which also places the laptop into sleep mode), WebRoot WiFi attempts to reconnect, but cannot. To reconnect, I must sign out of Webroot and then enter my user name and password. To add insult to injury, Webroot will not remember my password, so I must pull up my spreadsheet of passwords and cut and past the Webroot password into the log on field. While WebRoot’s virus protection program is very good, the WiFi/VPN product is junk.
So the latest run of Webroot Secure Anywhere flagged a file that I believe is incorrect? According to several website, this one included (https://tidbits.com/2022/09/02/macoss-new-xprotect-now-regularly-scans-for-malware/) say that this is a “new” (around November of 2022) built in malware protector in MacOS. Seems to me that this should not be flagged as malware? It flagged it as “MacOS.Lazarus.1.r”So my question is this: Is this file corrupted with a virus and should be replaced, or is this an error of Webroot? And if it should be replaced, anyone have an idea at how that can be done? Thanks
HI, this MAY be a redundant question, though it is not exactly what I have yet read here.A month ago webroot sent me reminders that my account was to expire.I renewed it alnd paid.A week later I got a reminder from BestBuy it was to renew with my TotalTech membership.I called, and though I resolved it, but got a notice it renewed through BB. May I assume I will only pay the one time? Or must I wait to see if it shows up on an imy credit card statement (which I will likely not do because I have a crappy memory)) Thanks, Jenni
On windows, my Webroot tray icon recently showed an exclamation point, indicating I was infected. When I ran a scan, however, it came up empty. Similarly, when I tried to follow these instructions to save a threat log, the application told me the threat log was empty. The icon also no longer indicates there is any threat or infection. Is this something I need to worry about? Should I assume that my system is fine, or are there steps I should take?Thank you in advance.
I see that I have the same problem as everyone else who has the Samsung S22 Ultra cell. I can not load Webroot on my cell as there is a bug. The program works fine on my husband’s S19 and it worked fine on my S18. These are the 2 screens I get. Is there a resolution for this? It doesn’t do me much good to have antivirus protection on my tablet and laptop but not on my cell. HELP PLEASE! I tried to get this resolved with GeekSquad and they couldn’t resolve it either. This isn’t good that the latest, greatest cell update can’t get Webroot protection. PLEASE HELP!Here is the screen I get. When I click on GO, this is what I get. When I click on Learn More, I get an AW SNAP! screen. Then when I click on Reload I get the following message:“Something went wrong with Webroot. Webroot closed because this app has a bug. Try updating this app after its developer provides a fix for this error”. So DO WE HAVE A RESOLUTION YET?
In Google and Microsoft search my website madisoncapital.com has the caution symbol and the message “This site may contain content that could affect your online security” Not sure what is causing this. What do I need to do to receive the Trustworthy symbol? Thank you.
Hello. I am one, of the reportedly few people, that has not upgraded to Windows 10, when given the opportunity, and remained with 8.1.I avoid the tile system and installed Classic Shell, in this way my system resembles the old beloved Window XP or 7, systems and I am happy with it.I am not interested in the new features, offered by the new OS’s, I am using the laptop mainly for email and web browsing and the desktop with VS 2019 for a multi-year sw project, plus some OpenOffice sometimes. All these applications will continue to work, but as you know, the support for Windows 8.1 will end Jan 10th , so I am faced with the option, and the burden, of upgrading or not. What we are told is that our system will be much more vulnerable without the security upgrade from MS, but I say “don't I have WSA?”What do I have WSA for what? Can't I count only on the protection offered by WSA, plus the firewall, plus the router? The problem is complicated also because i have an incompatible hw, with Window
I’ve had Webroot on my android for the past few years. About six months ago, it quit working (but the same Webroot account on my laptop is working fine). Whenever I open the app, I get the “Information has not been verified yet” page. I contacted Webroot and was told “this is a problem from their end and they’re working on a fix. Six months later, still no fix. Do I have to ditch Webroot?

When I connect to Webroot VPN, and attempt to connect to my gmail account, I get the followoing error message. This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?authuser=0 might be temporarily down or it may havemoved permanently to a new web address.ERR_FAILEDI cannot even connect to the webroot community, same message:This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at https://community.webroot.com/?utm_source=wifi-ipm&utm_medium=wifiipm&utm_campaign=community might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a newweb address.ERR_CONNECTION_ABORTEDAs soon as I disconnect from Webroot Wifi Security, everything is back to normal.I would say that besides my gmail and webroot, most websites are still accessible when vpn is activated, but not all.Running Windows 10 Pro on a desktop, Google Chrome browser
Heard about the breach and I was wondering if we need to do anything? I use a long master password with mixed letters, numbers and special characters. Do we continue to use Lastpass?Do we need to change all our passwords?Should we switch to another password manager?Should we even use a password manager at all?Are you still using Lastpass and are you going to continue?I was always reluctant to use a password manager because I feared this very thing. But then I gave in and it was nice not to have to remember all those passwords; especially ones that you don’t use often. Now I’m not so sure nice was enough. I also use 2FA when available.Luckily I refused to store any financial passwords in this or any manager.I tried to look up info on these very questions but I did not find what I was looking for. Thus this post.Thanks.
