I've been struggling with this for quite a while and just saw the issue of Firefox crashing on launch correlated with Protected Applications. Yeah I've had that happening for a couple weeks and blaming Win8. But something I've been struggling with even longer is Opera (another protected application) and using the simple and common Alt-D keystroke that simply positions the focus to the address field. Then I had the same problem in Quicken 2012, but only on one screen where I happen to use the Alt key as a short cut. So Webroot Protection (identity) seems to be a common link. Disabling all of these applications from "Protected" seems to resolve the problems. What's going on specifically is this. In Opera, when I press Alt-D, focus initially shifts to the address field (as you'd expect it to) but then when I release the Alt key (in slow motion, one hits Alt, then D, then releases D, then releases Alt), focus shifts to the File menu item (as in File, Edit, etc)...it doesn
The speed at which a false positive is white-listed is great, but common whats going on here? it seems like WSA flags every file in the universe as a virus until someone specifically asks for it to be white-listed, I reported like 4 FPs this week now this is the 4th: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win8.1/LiveUpdate/LiveUpdate_Win81_64_VER327.zip The zip itself is not the virus, once you install the Live updater, when it runs, that gets flagged as a virus! for the love of good it's an ASUS updater! seriously considering to switch solutions as I can't deal with so many FPs and I thought Panda Cloud AV was bad! this is horrible!
But it closes so fast I can't read it..... but it is square, grey, and has some red writing in the box. I can read the word "close", and not much else. It comes up for less than a second, I bet, and then my webpage that I want opens up. Pops up an awful lot, but not for every web page. I know it does it when I go to Yahoo's main page - most of the time. I "think" I see the word "malware", but it goes so fast I can't be sure. Any thoughts? Edit.... I just stared at the box when it opened again.... it says "This Site Contains a Known Virus". OK, so I do not visit porn sites, and generally only well known sites that I have used for years.... "Occasionally" I may clock a link from Google news that I am unfamiliar with, but that is about it.

Prevx then Webroot/Prevx used to use as one of its major marketing features that the product was compatible with and could be used along side most any other A/V product. As the years have passed since Prevx became part of Webroot and WSA has matured into an established stand-alone-anti-malware solution, I see very little mention of compatabilty in marketing the product. You have to look hard to find it and Webroot used to have a listing of known compatable products on its's website. Is this just a marketing strategy based upon WSA having been developed into a mature "Top-Shelf" stand-alone-product or is there something that has been done to the program somewhere along its development timeline that has made it less compatible with other products? Is it now more likely to slow down your PC or web browsing if used as a companion product? I hear differing views over at Wilders. Many still use it as a companion product, but more and more posters are using it as their sol

Webroot Web Filtering blocks Facebook... biggest false positive ever? Anyone else had this? I wonder how Brightcloud could make such a bad decision. Anyone care to explain how this works? This shouldn't be allowed to happen IMO.
I uninstalled Webroot from Windows 8 64 bit, using the recommended deactivate/reboot method. After uninstall and another reboot, going into IE10/Manage Add Ons, all three instances of Webroot, Webroot Vault, Webroot toolbar still remain. How do I get a clean uninstall of Weboot and it's toolbars?
Execution History > Loading... Is there a quick fix for Execution History > Loading... blank window. Last time, about a month ago. I was able to fix blank window by clean Webroot install. Any idea why blank window visits my Webroot. WRData is only 10MBs. Thanks
I used Prevx 3 on a spare PC, and recently it upgraded to WSA, without warning or asking me. I checked it out to make sure it was a ligit program, and decided to proceed to see what was up. I used Prevx 3 as a backup to my main AV, a secondary AV. I also use another firewall. My questions are these: Can I still use WSA as a backup to my main AV, or will it conflict with it? If I just disable the firewall and Realtime protection, will that work without conflicts, or are there other 'Shields' that I should also disable? Or, should I just remove WSA from my system. I am already quite satisfied with the AV and Firewall I am currently using, and don't need conflicting apps. Thanks.
I have been testing Webroot's Identity Shield and multiple times it does not stop the screen grabing attack. It is sucsesfull at blocking most (most, but not all) keystrokes from being logged, however, when using a screen capture program Webroot does not block or even notify that an application is attempting to take screenshots. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Webroot multiple times but I get the same results. Please advise. Shran
Anybody experiencing this 'featurette'. Uncheck the 'Scan on boot up if computer....' option under the Scan Schedule tabs in Settings, and then check on it after a reboot or the following morning (when you would usually have rebooted if you switch your PC off overnight). Does anybody find that the option has somehow gotten itself rechecked, ie, it is ON again? Have just noticed this (but to be fair have had some issues with this option before & uninstalled completely and reinstalled to try to resolve it.) Be interested to see if this is happening to anyone. Am running latest build .193. Regards Balders
I can not believe I am here- this function should be automated! The old serial/ key expired. But I can not enter the new one. I have 2 other computers activated on the new serial number, but there is no button to enter new key when it already installed. It just takes me to buy and renew. On Norton, there is a button, "Have key", and it let me enter new key. I can not find it on Webroot. Used "Support chart"- some creature there told me to call Webroot Monday to Friday to figure it out. It is 3 days weekend. I can have any virus in the world in 3 days. He/she told me- it is not her job to know how to enter a key. I told her- if she geting paid for her work and not a valunteer, she needs to know basic answers. In fact- I dont understand why I have to wait 3 days and call tech support, go out of my way and register to the foum just to ask how to enter a serial number? Any other Antivirus has this option automated! This is sooo frustrating! It already takes more tha
Hi, I am using Firefox and Google as search engine. When I got the result list Webroot Webreputation puts the reputation flag in front of the search list - however when I go to the next page of the results the Webrep flaf is missing. Anyone has an idea what it can be ? I am using Firefox ESR Thanks Peter
I have been working on my computer for the last three days trying to figure out what was slowing it down. I did everything, and I mean every diagnostic thing I could think of. I scanned everything, system files, bios, drivers, malware and corruption issues, and then processes. I was unable to find any significant reason that my PC was acting slow. I then ended all processes that were not essential for my PC to run, still no change. I ran in safety mode, and it ran flawlessly. I eventually caved in to a full system reset, which I really didn't want to do. I reinstalled everything one by one, finishing with Webroot. It slowed down my PC immediately. I was surprised to say the least, because my computer had been fine with it before. What changed? Ok, so this is what the slow down acts like. Normally my computer can run a lot of stuff at once, opening a bunch of things at the same time too with ease. Then after some updates for Windows 10 (at least I think so) this happened. I saw sudden
