I uinstalled WSAC through the Programs and Features area in Windows as normal. Yet, the contextual menus on right-click for Scan with Webroot and Permanently Erase with Webroot remain, even though they do no work. I cleaned the reg with CCleaner, and also ran the Webroot cleanup tool, but they are still there. How do I completely remove Webroot from my system?
Everything on my computer is working perfectly except for the Webroot Password Manager. When I attempt to log into it from Chrome or Firefox I get an error message: "An error occurred while attempting to contact the server. Please check your internet connection" When I go to my web console and attempt to access passwords I get this error message: "This site says login failed reason=ajax error". I have Webroot complete on a laptop i7, Windows 10 pro, 16 gigs of ram and tons of free disc space. I am able to access all sites on the internet and am networked in to a desktop with no issues. The only place I am getting this ajax error is when I attempt to access the Webroot password manager. I see elsewhere on this forum that Webroot is going to issue a new Password Manager in January or February 2019. Do you think I should just wait and see what happens and if this issue gets fixed or send a support ticket? Any other ideas? Regards, Tom Mitch
Hi, Firefox updated to version 77.0 yesterday, I then checked for add on updates one of which was the Webroot filtering extension. To enable this I was asked to input keycode, however I’m left with a spinning circle on trying to register. after leaving this for over 5 minutes I closed Firefox on re-opening the icon is no longer loading,an I covered?.
Hi, We are receiving reports from Webroot of a detection that I am not sure is true... How do I know if it is a false positive? The report log is below:- Automated Cleanup Engine Starting Cleanup at 2016-Oct-26 11:40:30 Starting Routine> Detected /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/User/2016-10-26-053418/Macintosh HD/.PKInstallSandboxManager-SystemSoftware/3F5A27F6-09A2-4D3F-8049-A2ABB8F44C32.sandbox/Root/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation [Name: "PUA.OSX.TuneUpMyMac.1.r", MD5: 00000000000000000000000000000000] Quarantining File> Removing /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/User/2016-10-26-053418/Macintosh HD/.PKInstallSandboxManager-SystemSoftware/3F5A27F6-09A2-4D3F-8049-A2ABB8F44C32.sandbox/Root/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/Versions/A/CoreFoundation Quarantining File> Removing /Volumes/Time Machine Backups/Backups.backupdb/User/2016-10-26-053418/Macintosh HD/.PKInstallS
I had webroot set to where the set and forget option was selected. If I had it set on "set and forget" but everything else on that list set on maximum and self protection was set to maximum and all heuristics were set to maximum and basically everything else set to max, would that have compromised my security when compared to having everything set the same way but with the "set and forget" option set to the middle instead of the "set and forget side"?
Malwarebytes shows 30+ instances of spyware.... Webroot shows 3 So there seems to be a conflict of who is right, who is wrong.... If Malwarebytes is right, that means Webroot isnt that good... If webroot is right, then malwarebytes is lying.... Every antivirus wants to claim how good they are... Just have not seen it yet, or been proven otherwise..... however I am tired of running this for spyware, running that for antivirus, then find out that neither was any good because I still have spyware and viruses....
Please....... please HELP!!!! My name is Alison and I have the technical abilities of a Lima bean :@ I had a message come up from Webroot saying something like......on start up a file/program is trying to enter...then there were options....and... I clicked on the one that said "Block" Now my laptop will not connect to the Internet at all; it just has a big red cross on the Internet icon. I live in the UK and my laptop in my world. Two years 8mnths ago I became chronically ill, following a routine tooth operation; a viral infection entered and affected my central nervous system, rendering me housebound and mainly bed bound. This isn't a sympathy call....it's just to give you some understanding and put you in the picture of the difficulties I may have with anything complicated so please be patient. Thank you in advance, Kindly regards Alison :D
For the last 10 days or so unsolicited web pages have opened on their own in a new Chrome tab while simultaneously,Webroot pops up with a warning against that particular website reported as being unsafe, i.e. sweetpacks/go2cloud or helpmetop.info. It can happen while I'm simply reading an email, not clicking anything. Running a Webroot scan detects no threats. I have not downloaded any suspicious shareware or the like. Any suggestions?
Just a question and I think I know the answer...my wife and both sons (college age) have internet security programs that are about to expire. I am considering WSA Complete...they basically need "set up and forget protection". They all have MBAM-Pro (real time) and I would think that combination would be enough. The wife does some banking on line, not a lot. Since I have only been using WSA Complete 2 days, and like what I see, just considering the move. Thanks in advance for any input.
Hello Everyone. In the past few days when I Turn on my computer, I see the message indicating that webroot wants to make changes to your computer do you allow that ? It is the message from the user account from window 8.1 any help please ? Thank you
I have recently purchased Webroot for PC Gamers Antivirus, however the webroot filtering extension for chrome is not working, after extensive troubleshooting with webroot support today they told me my subscription does not include access to the webroot filtering extension. My understanding is that Webroot Antivirus for PC Gamers does include the webroot filtering extension and it should be working. thanks in advance for your help.
I have 3 PCs protected in my wsac. I recently upgraded 2 of my machines to windows 8. Since then they both are seen duplicated in my console taking away my two free licenses. And I have no idea which of the duplicated is the functional one.
I don't do this with pleasure because I am a big supporter of Webroot and as a such I am pleased to praise good Webroot things but in the same way if something smells .... yeah, that's life and a coin has always two sides ;) It is not a secret that I have the long lasting problems with: 1) the missing padlock 2) the firewall strangely dealing with some applications on my PC 3) the malfunctions of WebShield in Opera and IE9. It's a quarter of a year when I started to communicate with Webroot staff via the support inbox. I have sent detailed informations and have exchanged a lot of things with the support, I have collected and have sent a few logs and so on. In the beginning and middle of November I have been informed that the issues I have reported are in queue to be addressed but they can't give me a timeline for any fixes right now. OK, I can understand that if I am experiencing any problems alone and are not hundreds of other users reporting them, I have to give way to more import
Hi, I have a question about the WSA firewall. It is declared that WSA firewall need windows firewall to work, it is an added protection. However, when I set the WSA firewall with block one process called "iexplorer.exe" which is ie browser. And then I set the windows firewall to allow the connection for "iexplorer.exe". The result is blocking the internet for browser. Further more when I turned off the windows firewall, WSA pops out an dialog to warn me. I clicked "No" for not activate the windows firewall, and WSA firewall is still open. In this situation, I still can't use IE to surf the internet. The question is, is WSA firewall independent with windows firewall? If no, why suggest to open windows firewall? If yes, why I turned off the windows firewall, and WSA firewall still works? I check the previous discussions as well, but it didn't mention abou
I am using Webroot SecureAnywhere Essentials software and it is preventing me from visiting Filehippo.com. This site is extremely reputable and has been known for years upon years. I also use Filehippos update checker and your software is preventing it from loading the Filehippo site. www.filehippo.com
I've been having this error in google chrome since 2 weeks ago when there was an update for the browser. Error code: ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR People say it's related to the new SSL modifications google is doing. People on other forums are saying to disable SSL scanning in anti virus software from another brand and I do not see this option in Webroot. There was someone that didn't have the other brand was mentioned and they had yet another brand that had the same issue. Anyone here on Google chrome that has this error?
