Hello, So i've never had this problem before. It has just recently started. It has happened a few times. Everytime i perform a manual shutdown on Webroot it stops. A few seconds later it just auto activates itself and comes online again. I've tried going into task manager and stop Webroot processes after i've performed a manual shutdown, it didn't solve the issue. Any help would be great. Thanks
We have a few new clients using Adobe CS and were advised to disable ID Shield in our policy to enable this to work. The problem is it now shows Webroot in a “Protection Disabled” state and prompts the user to enable ID Shield, which they cannot do because policies are centrally managed. I found a 5 year old thread on this with some promises by Webroot to address, but seems to me the issue is the same as it was in 2017.Is there any update on this? Thanks!
Full dump below. Happened twice in a row while running full disk scan. Seen notes about problems like this but they’re old. This is version 18.104.22.168. I believe this to be the current release but don’t know how to check that. I also don’t see an option to check for updates.Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 10.0.22621.755 AMD64Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation. Hi Team, I am coming from a McAfee EPo and ESET solution to a webroot solution. I am using the “Management Console - CE 22.4” to setup a range of Windows servers. I have a few questions: 1: Can we set the on access scan to “scan only on write” not read.2: Should we use file/folder exclusions?3: Is there a live scanning monitor to see what is being scanned at any time - this will test what should and what should not be scanned? We also have seen that when we do a remote desktop to a server, the scanner activates and the CPU increases. Thanks Phil
I am running Carbonite Safe CE 22.3 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max, running macOS Monterey Version 12.4 (21F79). About once a week, I am asked to grant it Full Disk Access permission. Except that it already has it. I see that Webroot Secure Anywhere went through this about two years ago in other threads. But I do not see a solution. Any ideas? Just to prove the point, here is a screen shot:
Hello, I just renewed my membership and it seems that it will not scan my MacBook Pro. I go to a college that uses examplify and am wondering if anyone knows if that software has ruined my scanning on my webroot security. I have not had this issue until my school had changed to this test taking software. It always wants me ti disable my virus protection and I always say no. So I am wondering if the examplify software has messed it up without my permisson. I also would like to know how to fix this porblem with my webroot so it will scan. I go into the app/ file whatever you would like to call it to go ahead and run a scan on my computer, everythin works normally until i click scan my computer and it will run for about 3 seconds and then say scan cancelled. What can i do to fix this.
Greetings,I bought Webroot Internet Security Plus | Antivirus Software 2022 |3 Device |1 Year Download for PC/Mac/Chromebook/Android/IOS + Password Manager from Amazon; and I do not know how to download it to my chromebook. I don’t see the instructions.Could you please help me?
A trojan has appeared on my computer and periodically opens up a sys32 box on my screen. Every time this happens, Webroot warns me that there is an active threat named “TrojanDownloader” and a scan is needed to remove it. However, every time I scan immediately after the warning, nothing is ever found and Webroot tells me everything is fine. I know this isn’t true because the trojan continuously opens the black box every hour or so, yet Webroot tells me everything is fine. How can I remove this trojan?
Hi,I was wondering if there was a way to manage individual access control settings via policies. I’m aware that the gui can be locked completely as well as removing the tray icon, but I’m looking for a more focused approach. The specific setting I want to manage and prevent changes to is in the screenshot below:Is there a way to disable this one option from the web console and prevent end users from changing it?
Hello,I’ve used Webroot for almost a decade. It absolutely the strongest protection out there. I have never, ever, not even once, had a virus infection that I had to remove. It always blocks it. I love Webroot… except….The bad news… it DOES cause Windows slow down a LOT. This has plagued Webroot for years… really ever since I initially recommended it to a former employer and convinced them to switch to it back in 2013. They now have it deployed to several thousand endpoints.I would really like Webroot to focus on improving the speed. There are unnecessary things that occur in the WR client, such as when there is a directory exclusion set in the console, the WR client re-scans the entire directory every so often, finds all EXEs, and re-determines its status even if the directory is excluded. Many processes are tracked, whether excluded or not, and it still runs through its system, it just doesn’t alert on the issue. This is just one example of unnecessary processing power.Sadly I am rem
I have a user having issues and the only thing that changed was installing webroot. I want to disable the agent remotely to see if the users notices a difference. I created a test policy that allows the agent to be shutdown. Is there a way I can run a terminal command to shutdown the agent?
I noticed that when playing Deathloop (via Steam), the CPU usage of webroot goes up to 25% and fluctuates between that number and 10% constantly.I tried adding the deathloop.exe to the ignore file in the PC security options, but it doesn’t let me (It’s almost ½ gig in size).Any solutions? Thanks.
