Patch Notes & Software Updates
We are going to be making a series of exciting updates to the Global Site Management Console and endpoints in the coming weeks. In early June, we’ll be updating the Global Site Management Console to enable a whitelisting capability in Web Threat Shield. This will allow GSM admins to override Web Threat Shield’s default blocking behavior. To support these exciting new capabilities, we’ll be using our new release process to update endpoints under your management over the course of the next couple of months. These updates will be for both, PC and Mac endpoints. We’ll continue to share more detailed i
PRODUCT UPDATE BULLETIN 19.1 - August 12th 2014
Following the release of version 19.0 in early July, we are continuing the development of the Webroot SecureAnywhere® Global Site Manager (GSM) console by adding Global Alerts with the release of version 19.1. We have also made optimizations to allow hundreds of sites to be managed under a single GSM console. This now lets our MSP Partners and large enterprise customers manage a large number of sites from one GSM console. In this release we have also added to our Standard console the ability to easily deploy additional endpoints to a specific group. NEW – Global Alerts – This latest addition to the Webroot SecureAnywhere “Global Site Manager” (GSM) console adds new “Global Alerts” features within the Global Settings section of the GSM console. Updated – Group Endpoint Deployment - Improves the ability to deploy endpoints to
Mac Policy Management, Custom Block Pages, and Remote Device Management We’ve made a series of updates to endpoints under your management, and our final step in this round is to enable these exciting updates in the Global Site Management Console. Next week, we’ll be updating the Global Site Management Console to enable Mac® policy management, allow personalization for block pages displayed by the Web Threat Shield, and more granular device management via the GSM console. Based on customer feedback, we will be enabling policy management for Mac endpoints in two stages. The first step will enable configuration changes in the GSM console, while the second will update endpoints to respond to the new policies. This approach will allow administrators to make policy decisions based on available options and communicate to their customers in advance of the changes. The timing of this second step will be based on customer feedback, and we will notify you a week prior to the upd
New Domain Bypass functionality for DNS-P customers now available within GSM When using the agent, all valid external (A) record DNS requests will be answered by the DNS Protection servers. This becomes a problem when an answer is expected from an internal DNS server. Admins can now bypass known internal domains for specific sites/customers using the exact FQDN or using wildcards so that access to internal drives, sharepoint, etc. is not blocked for their users.
Introduction
As part of our continuing Mac parity development we are releasing a new Agent build 188.8.131.52 on the 11th of April, which will help us move further towards providing Mac OS parity with our MS Windows endpoint security visibility and management.

NEW - Enhanced agent data reporting to cloud – Agent status will now be sent up upon the action of one or more triggers. These triggers will match PC triggers where applicable. The result of this change is that updated agent status values are now sent more regularly, as previously these values were only sent when the UI was opened. (In some business environments that might not happen often, or in some cases ever.)
NEW - Enhanced speed of scan start – This simply mean that Mac endpoint scans now start much faster and noticeably so over the current version.
UPDATE - Hardened machine identification – In a very few cases the Mac serial was not available in the co
The number of devices deployed with Mac operating systems is increasing in business environments. A report by Statcounter (November 2015) states that 9.4% of all desktop browsers utilize a Mac OS version. This Mac OS ‘Reporting Parity’ release forms part of an ongoing programme to enhance the Administration experience for our Customers and Managed Services Partners administrating Mac OS devices within their environment. With this release Administrators will have visibility of all devices operating Mac OS, as this release is specifically designed to deliver data on Mac Endpoints in all views, reports, and management screens within the management console. These Mac features are present in both our Standard and Global Site Manager (GSM) consoles.
