Phishing Attacks on Bitcoin Wallets Intensify as Price Goes Higher and Higher
It was only natural that the Internet's cyber-criminal element would turn its gaze towards the Bitcoin ecosystem after the cryptocurrency's price has surged from $11,000 on Monday to almost $17,500 over the weekend.

 
During the past week, several phishing attempts against Bitcoin-related sites and Bitcoin users have been reported. For example, CheckPhish, a service that keeps track of recent phishing pages against high-profile brands, has spotted five phishing domains targeting the Blockchain wallet service, one of the largest on the market. In addition to the CheckPhish reports, several security researchers have also identified numerous others.

Poor USB security leaves enterprises at risk
Security policies for USB devices are frequently outdated and inadequate, and enterprises are often failing to monitor their use, according to a new survey.
 
Apricorn surveyed over 400 employees across a range of industries. It discovered that USB drives are seen as an important tool, with roughly 70 percent of employees surveyed maintaining that USB drives improve the efficiency of their organizations' IT operations and increase their productivity.

Organizations Getting Better at Detecting Breaches: Report
Organizations have become slightly better at detecting cyber intrusions, but malicious actors are constantly working on improving their tactics and techniques, according to CrowdStrike’s 2017 Cyber Intrusion Services Casebook.

 
In more than one-third of attacks, hackers gained access to the targeted organization’s systems using web server, web application or web shell exploits, or file uploaders. Other commonly seen attack vectors were remote access via RDP or VPN (23%), supply chain compromise (12%), social engineering and phishing (11%), and cloud-based service exploits (11%).
