Canadian Arrests Cause Panic In A Bustling Dark Web Xanax Trade
Last week law enforcement in Laval, Canada, swooped on a significant criminal operation illegally flogging knock-off Xanax pills. Five were arrested, whilst two million pills and $200,000 in cash were seized.
There were myriad intriguing sub-plots. Two of the five arrested were reportedly sons of Ian Davidson, a former sergeant-detective who killed himself after he was allegedly caught trying to sell a list of police informants to the mafia. Police also said the crime ring was working across Montreal to sell the fake drugs, created with machines capable of pumping out 20,000 pills an hour, on the Internet.
