Here's some news that's bound to disappoint you if you are using a D-Link DIR-300 or DIR-600 model router. If so, you might want to consider replacing it after reading this:
Security expert Michael Messner has identified several holes in D-Link's DIR-300 and DIR-600 routers that allow potential attackers to execute arbitrary commands with little effort. Although current firmware versions are also affected, the router manufacturer does not appear to be planning to close the hole.
The only way to deal with this problem right now without any fix from D-Link is to decommission the router until a patch is available.
Hopefully D-Link will start to take this exploit seriously now that it's publicly known.
