Internet users clicking on the government of Ontario's websites were greeted by some unusual sights Friday, during a hack attack.
In a statement to CTV News, Ont. Premier Kathleen Wynne's spokesperson Zita Astravas said the attack targeted a third party domain routing service, and not the government's websites.
For visitors, however, the government's websites appeared to have been attacked. For example, the Ontario.ca website displayed a message saying the website had been "hacked."
Set against a stark, black background, a young man was pictured along with a profanity-laced call for visitors to follow a Twitter account.
