Security must be the starting point, not an afterthough

This may seem to be glaringly obvious to everyone BUT so many times I post things on here where the security apears to have been nothing more than an afterthought.

The current threat landscape means that security can no longer be an afterthought for businesses, so needs to be baked into every part of an organisation from the start rather than added in after.
 
That’s the view of global technology provider Thales, which earlier this month announced the launch of a new cyber and consulting organisation in the UK to help businesses address the key issues in digital transformation and cyber security.

What is sad is big business has this mentality out of sight of of mind. Security to them to a degree is a sceond thought until thier burned.

You are spot on, Jasper re. your analysis of the situation/approach by a large segment of companies out there when it comes to the importance of cyber & system security...and until they do come around to accepting that is important and THEIR responsibility...you & Anthony will continue reporting on breaches and the like...:(
