An interesting article about the EU cloud and data laws...
http://www.zdnet.com/yes-u-s-authorities-can-spy-on-eu-cloud-data-heres-how-7000010653/?s_cid=e550
Interesting read - and some observations:
- This article is simply pointing out that governments can gain access to corporate data protected by the EU's data protection laws.
- Just because something is possible doesn't mean it is the common practice.
- If your data is very sensitive, don't trust its security to 3rd parties.
This article shouldn't cause alarm to the average user of cloud hosted services such as Dropbox, iTuens or Facebook, rather it should act as a reminder that you can lose control over the privacy of your data when you trust someone else with its security.
