A bioengineer and geneticist at Harvard’s Wyss Institute have successfully stored 5.5 petabits of data — around 700 terabytes — in a single gram of DNA, smashing the previous DNA data density record by a thousand times.


I wonder how much longer it will be until we have DNA hard drives or we all become walking datacenters.  Absolutely fascinating!

That's one of my favorite movies from the 90's!
 
The DNA storage may be a ways off, but cybernetic implants are just around the corner.  You know about Steve Mann and his Eyetap right?
