I just installed WR SecureAnywhere Antivirus on my XP computer.
Should I now uninstall MS Security Essentials, or is it's firewall still needed?

Hi Dave2
Welcome to the Community Forums.
MSE is an antivirus program, and it does not contain a firewall component. Windows Firewall is part of Windows XP, and all subsequant versions of WIndows.
If you uninstall MSE you will not uninstall the Windows Firewall (in fact you cannot do so) and you should leave the latter enabled/on as WSA requires it to cover the inbound connections to your computer as WSA does not have it's own inbound firewall component unlike the outbound which it does cover itself.
So; MSE can be uninstalled (and if you are using WSA then why keep it) but WIndows Firewall MUST NOT be turned off.
Please see this KB Article for more information.
Hope that helps?
