WSA + Hitmanpro.Alert + Sandboxie + chrome x64

windows 10 pro x64 stable build

Please advise how to avoid possible conflicts between security softs.
I have not yet installed WSA.
Should I first remove HMP.A, before installing WSA?
I seem to remember that if you do it in the wrong order, it causes slowdowns.
And should I disable Windows Defender, or leave it running together with WSA? Does that cause slowdown, if both are running?

Hello shmu26

There is not a conflict with HMP. There are others who run HMP and Webroot without an issue. Webroot is like no other AV in the fact it will let you run 98% of the AV's with Webroot.

Now if you have another AV installed on Windows 10, it will automatically disable Windows Defender.  It will not allow you to have both enabled at the same time.  This is a function of Windows, not Webroot. The same will be true of any AV you install on Windows 10.

If you uninstall Webroot (or other AV you have installed) Windows Defender will automatically come back active if it was set for that, OR it will provide you a system notification that action is needed in order to either turn Windows Defender back on or re-enable/re-install your other AV.

Please have a look here if you want to run them both. Please be careful when changing the registry.

IMO you only need Webroot

Hope this helps?

Hi shmu26

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I run HMP.A as well as WSA and as far as I am aware Sherry is correct in that HMP.A should not interfere with the installation of WSA on your system...and they do work well together once both installed.

If you do run into any issues then I would just unistall HMP.A, install WSA and then reinstall HMP.A...in extremis that will work fine too.

thanks.
Can WSA  protect chrome when it is running in Sandboxie?
If so, how?

Hello ?

You are welcome!

To be honest I haven't used Sandboxie.  EDITED Please have a look at this thread https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Complete/WSA-and-Sandboxie/m-p/210763/highlight/true#M13048

If you do have questions about the compatibility then you can Submit a Support Ticket and they can advise you further. This is a free service with your Webroot subscription.

There are no conflicts between WSA and HMP.A, Sandboxie and Chrome.

Sometimes the Webroot Password Manager will not activate correctly in Chrome - but that is an easy fix.  If that happens, then just post your issue here and one of the Webroot VIPs will get you sorted out with the Webroot Toolbar Fix utility.

There is a known issue between HMP.A and Sandboxie.

With HMP.A and Sandboxie installed together, you might  get an error message from Sandboxie stating "Cannot communicate with Sandboxie Service."

If Chrome is working, then you can select "Hide" in the Sandboxie message box.  However, the next time you boot-up your system after a complete shut-down, the error message will reappear; hiding the error message is not permanent.

Hello monstertruckpa,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Bitdefender is the only AV that I know that will conflict or is not compatible with Webroot. HMP is compatible though. I would do a uninstall/reinstall of Webroot to see if you still have these dll issues.

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • Be sure you add your Keycode to your Online Console: Webroot SecureAnywhere Online Console
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Geek Squad Subscription PC users click HERE) Let us know if it is the Mac version you need.
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and do NOT import any settings if offered by the installer as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue? Or you can Submit a Support Ticket and they can have a look. This is a free service with your Webroot subscription.

Thanks,
