On the previous version of WSA, when I checked the Firewall in the XP Security Center, it would say that Firewall was being protected by Webroot and is currently up to date. With the new version of WSA, it just tells me that the Windows firewall is on.

MY GUI PC Security tells me the WSA firewall is on. Why doesn't this show in the XP Security Center like the previous version of WSA.

The last time Webroot showed up in place of the Windows Firewall in the security center was in the 2011 version of Webroot - prior to Webroot SecureAnywhere. The WSA firewall is outbound only, relying on the Windows Firewall to provide inbound protection. This is why we never recommend turning off the Windows firewall. WSA hooks into it and can utilize it to block traffic from suspicious files. Basically, that's normal and how it should look.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.  I also believe that I was thinking of the Virus Protection tab on XP that does say that WSA is up to date and on. 😳
