Why doesn't Webroot rate VPN services as trustworthy?

I think this is a problem because major technology news outlets report that Virtual Private Networks like Private Internet Access, Tunnelbear, and Hotspot Shield a very reputable and trustworthy for casual users wanting more privacy and security. If anyone can explain to me why this is a problem, I would very much appreciate it.

Hi brandomettout,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

While I can't speak for Webroot directly (we are all volunteers here in the Community), I believe this is because, while VPNs are beneficial to average users they also can be used for nefarious purposes to hide the identity of scammers, phishers, and the like.

That being said, you are always able to manually bypass Webroot's notification alerts and proceed to a VPN's site.

Hope this info helps,

VPN's, Proxies and other avoidance sites will be blocked and it's a General Policy in place by Webroot for such sites but as BurnDaddy has said you can just bypass the block and continue to where ever you like to go. Even my VPN service site is Blocked so I just bypass the block and continue there as I find it no big deal IMO.

I'd like to give this post Kudos, but when I click, it seems I'm not allowed to do so.
